Buffy: "I want my life to be with you"
Angel: "Sorry, only one main character can be in a spin off"
OMFG!!! Lol!!! For Real!!! 👏🏻😂😏
I think the break up was necessary to let Buffy grow for a short time but in the long run I don't agree with Angel. Buffy never truly found the love like she had with Angel ever again...for me regardless of other ships....they felt like true love to me. Sure Buffy wouldn't be able to have a complete life with Angel but in the end she got to live a 'normal life' and I never saw her fulfilled or as content as she was in S1-S3. There was a sadness about her as the show progressed and that spark I loved at the beginning wasn't quite the same after he left. So in the end I don't see the point of trying to live a normal life when it means nothing without Angel. I do think they could have found a way to rework the curse but Wheadon doesn't like happy endings.
They should’ve got back together
I feel ya, her heartbreak has never healed. Not to mention that in later seasons they made a point to tell us that there is no "normal life" for Buffy. I love Spike as well, not gonna lie but im always a Bangel girl at heart.
Agree
it wouldn't be a curse if it could have desirable effects, its supposed to impose untold suffering on angel, its not a gift.
U can say that again. It still makes me cry even until this day.
This was heartbreaking indeed, but the most heart-wrenching Bangel scene is in I Will Remember You on Angel.
I don't know if I'm ready to watch it 🥺 I've just finished season 3 of buffy...
riccardo pomponi how are you liking it so far
@@anatoldenevers237 I finished season 5. Lots of changes since season 4 but it was refreshing
I'm more angry about I Will Remember You than anything Joss Whedon has every been behind. It creates a solution, takes that solution away, then never addresses it again even though it would work just as well four seasons later as there.
She went from saying his heart wasn't beating to...I felt your heartbeat. 💔💔💔
I will go down with this ship 😭💔💔
this has to be the perfect comment considering David was in that music video as well!
@@veganvipers11 Haha yep
Me too.
I love your comment I feel the same way this hurt me
I'm in love and always will be😭😭😭😭
The writer is a poet, every line pierced my heart and where do I even begin with Angel and Buffy's performance Urgh so good.
Look what happen he loosing his soul
Same. The lines are so realistic too
"Children? Can you say jumping the gun? I kill my goldfish."
Oh, Buffy. LOL this is really sad, but I just love the dynamic between goofy Buffy and stoic Angel.
Today but you have know idea how fast it goes Buffy!!!
And then Angel was the one who had a child....
"Who are you to tell me what's right for me?" Buffy was so right. He did her dirty.
You can't be someone couldn t handle realitionship it about true love pure happiness it set him off you act she is right angel doing the right thing buffy doesn t what to know
SMG was not acting here. She’s such a huge Buffy/Angel shipper than she legit broke down and they had to shut down the set for 25 minutes to allow her to recover.
“Heart? You have a heart? It isn’t even beating.” Ooooof. I felt that sting from hereeee.
“I don’t”
God. Wow
And then months later they get back together for 24 hours on the Buffy/Angel Crossover during Thanksgiving break when she visited Angel in LA and she says to Angel " I felt your heart beat". Before the powers that be reversed time as if it never happened
I definitely felt that when Buffy threw shade saying that his heart wasn't beating that definitely hurt
Buffy was a damn good actress.
Sarah Michelle Gellar you mean
I watched this as a teen and this really hurt like it was my breakup. Buffy's relationship really had something that just got me, not just Angel, but even Spike or even Riley. All of them were so different.
So true
Sarah wasn't acting, she was really sad not only to see the characters break up, but to see David leave and get his own show. You can hear David whisper 'Sarah' in one of the crossover episodes. Very powerful. @Claudia
so let's recap
Angel: I'm breaking up with you
Buffy: No please don't
Angel: I have to
Flash forward a few seasons
Angel: KEEP YOUR DAMN HANDS OFF MY GIRLFRIEND
Spike: YOU WEREN'T GOOD ENOUGH FOR HER
Angel: AM TOO
Spike: YOU BROKE UP WITH HER
Angel: AM T... oh shit
What episode is that from?
@@jamesgrist807 It's not any actual diolouge that's just kinda the feeling
He did the right thing, he didn't want to, but he had to. He has forever, she doesn't. She deserves more and better. He's trying to be the adult in the situation.
Buffys mom kind of put this whole thing in motion
how so?
No, the mayor did.
@@emilish624 Joyce came to visit Angel and basically told him if he loves Buffy he needs to leave her to live a normal life. I so much hated her for putting her nose into this. Still I think the writers could have found a way to make it work for Angel to be with Buffy without consequences.
@@vladimiramatejova1796 I dont remember that personally but that does sound like something Joyce would do. And your right there are tons of ways for Angel and Buffy to be together. Especially since their feelings for each other never truly went away.
@@emilish624 yup if Spike can have his soul without consequences, there must be a way how also Angel could get it permanently, not as a curse. So even if he stayed a vampire they could be together in a relatively normal relationship for several years. Or he could simply reach the Shanshu and become human again as it was prophecised, but no they had to finish the story in the middle of a fight (Angel series) so we will never know what happened to him at the end. OMG 15 years or so and I am still angry about how it ended. At least if they reboot it they could make some episode where I dont know we would travel to the distant future and we would see Angel as an old man finally having all of his Sh** together. I need some closure :-D oh and the visit happens in s03e20 Prom
The mayor was evil but he never lied & he actually had fatherly feelings for Faith
This is so well acted!
A piece of my heart died the day this episode came out! He was right but damn, so painful. Both actors are so great, I cried for months. Just read that in the comics she ends up with...no one. Damn you Joss Whedon!! Even SMG and David Boreanaz wanted Buffy and Angel to find happiness together.
Fate is fickle thing indeed
You know what happened last time Angle found happiness, it didn't end well. But she could end up with Spike
@@danielbutler8103 even SMG shipped Bangel
@@pp-vf8ls yes but if they get together Angelus will try to kill her again and I think 2 deaths are enough for her.

I remembered, always, how much I hated the melodrama of Angel. I never particularly liked Angel. I always liked Spike better, always. I liked Riley better even, for a little while. But I forgot how emotionally intense all this was. This was real. And wow, does it hurt.
I see now why joss said this was always the love story.
i get your stance against melodrama Angel, but I think it was perfectly executed. Its the only legitimate conception and execution of the brooding archetype portrayed on screen because the back story lines up.
Agreed
How its possible to hate on Angel? He's the man that every woman dreams with, the ultimate love interest! I cant get how people could ship buffy with someone else but angel! They are fucking endgame!
@@emmanueloluga9770 probably won't surprise you but Spike and Angel are basically copies of Louis and Lestat. One is brooding and conflicted with his need to feed/kill as a vampire (Louis/Angel). The other is a bit Rock n Roll and loves being a vampire.
Even the whole having a Soul aspect comes from how Louis can feel human emotions whereas the other vampires are somewhat detached from their humanity.
What Dow she mean by this was always the love story
Their breakup was so painful to watch when I first seen the scene as a teenager. I felt Buffy's pain as though I was going through the breakup myself. Seeing her cry to Willow, oh god, my heart ached for her so much that I nearly had a meltdown as well. I wanted so much to comfort this fictional character lol
Same ! I remember having a meltdown during this episode , I was like 14 years old, my mom was so worried by my reaction
It’s even more heartbreaking when Buffy appears in Angel when he’s temporarily human. We know he’s lying to her here, but we get the proof in that episode.
I liked that episode "I Will Remember You" for showing Angel the aftermath to the Shanshu prophecy before the series went deeper into the abyss. It gave Angel perspective that becoming human was not necessarily his best ending, save for being with Buffy. Doyle still received visions for The Powers That Be, showing that demons & evil are still going to exist if Angel fulfills the prophecy. Angel tried having his cake & eating it too by trying to fight demons as a human, but he ended getting wrecked worst than Xander before Xander lost his eye. So, when Wesley explains to Angel that the reward for fulfilling the Shanshu is to being human during the last episode of the 1st season, Angel acts all huh,meh about it because of this episode & because he remembers the gift & the curse of that reward.
I watch buffy and angel around 2011 when I watch that episode I totally forgot about the rest of the episodes take place after that one because that how deep their love is.
He's not lying to her here except for the part where he says I don't yes he's lying on that lol
@@jamesjenkins400, lol well yeah.
@@jamesjenkins400 sorry to say this he is lying the soul he is making him to feel that way he started realise how human feel being vampire is hard enough as it is without killing anyone
Man, this is really foreshadowing Angel getting his own spinoff.
uno dei momenti più tristi della serie...Buffy&Angel love Forever❤😭😭😭
Si è vero io loro 2 li amo 😭💔
This hit horribly close to my own most traumatic break up. As much as he wanted to be with her but chose not to for believing she should move on, my ex wanted to be with me but broke up for religious beliefs. I've just never got over that totally.
My ex broke up cause of long distance. It's so painful when someone loves you but external things exhausts the relationship to its end.
I hope you're better after all those years
This episode was so sad Even though Angel was trying to be the noble one he should have told Buffy about the conversation he had with her mother this was all Joyce’s doing don’t know what she was trying to prove but Joyce was definitely wrong for sticking her noise where it didn’t belong
That definitely would have been the wrong decision. Joyce may have been the final nail on the coffin for their relationship, but Angel was already having doubts even before Joyce's visit and this was ultimately his decision. If he recused himself from his own responsibility and blamed it on Joyce in front of Buffy, he risks damaging Buffy's relationship with her own mom. It would have been the least mature thing to do.
It not all joyce fault she is looking out for her daughter if you have children you understand can t forget that he is vampire I know he got a soul look at his age what he is it like he doesn t have a choice acting like buffy is right but he is doing right thing if her mum find out what he is she will loose it with her
@@windowsVDyes exactly she was the final nail, he already had doubts and it only took a little push
I lost it when he said "I dont"

I wonder how much Buffy would deal with her mom is she knew her mom put this in motion
Compare it to the “cookie dough” analogy and you have to wonder which talented writer got fired between then and the finale.
lmfao..ikr
Wut
You're not wrong, mate. Never thought about it like that but you're definitely not wrong!
oh my gosh literaly tho. lol
I never understood that. I didn't like the finale as much as i thought i would.
Except the speech. The whole conversation with Angel was weird and wasn't as emotional as i wanted.
Buffy will never stop loving angle
Buffy lines makes me laugh at times lol you have something face.
Buffy was a bit harsh when she said ‘’you have a heart, it isn’t even beating.
Don't..
This scene made me cry! (the first time I watched it years ago).
That relationship was doomed from the start
I hate this! It breaks my heart! I hope they make a cartoon so they can finally be together somehow! They deserve a happy ending after all the crap they’ve been through
There is a comic book series that is legit with the lore and it continues on for at least 3 more seasons (season 10).
“You should be with someone who can bring you into the light.”
*ends up with Spike 3 seasons later/in the comics*
😂❤️
PG - E
Spike does wear gear to protect himself from light, so technically Spike does bring her into the light.
she didn't end up with spike in the show.
Also if Spike gets happy from being with Buffy his soul won't go away. If Angle gets happy then he'll be evil and try to kill her and everyone else. Even without a soul Spike still loved her so much that he fought for his soul so he could be worthy of her.
Later on in the comics Spuffy officially break up. #Bangel4ever
@@frostxfirestormship7458 She didn't end up with any of them. Besides, Angel has a thing for Illyria at the end and is all brooding 'cause he wants to get her back from that hell dimension.
It was sad when buffy And angel broke up.
Its a bit weird that Angel is 27 (+ however many years he's been a vampire) yet he's going out with a teenage girl. Even if he was mortal, that's a bit suspect.
That's true.
@@anatoldenevers237 I don't think the actor was 18-years-old when BtVS started.
@@BarrywHiteFTW I think David Boreanaz was 26-27 when he started Buffy and Sarah Michelle Geller was 19.
I know Charisma Carpenter and the guy who plays Xander were 27 when they started the show.
When I was a teenager I was on Buffy's side. Now as an adult I know Angel did the right thing.
It's not like Angel wanted to break up with Buffy, but he had to. Because, if he found true happiness, then he would turn into Angelus, and I don't think either he or Buffy wants that.
If anything it'd be worse now that Angalus knows that Willow can get his soul back so she'd be the first one Angalus would want to kill both to stop her resouling him but also to screw with Buffy if he wanted to be extra evil he could turn Willow into a vampire
Not necessarily, which actually makes it worse. No one knows whether Willow's spell included the curse, so in effect they could be happy together, but can't risk it just in case. Even more tragic.
He probably wouldn't have ended it if he was aware that he could have positive sex without losing his soul. Pretty sure that's why he was willing to try and have a relationship with her again when he brought it up in season 7.
That's the worst part. They never broke up because they stop loving each other
daniel butler yeah, Willow would be his first target
Ok I’m gonna go cry 🤧
Man I never this break up was emotional.
This episode was not fair for my favorite couple. If Joyce and the mayor didn't but in. Angel and Buffy still might be together. But we will never know the out come now. I felt so bad for these two because they never got their happy ending.
Nice video
Fuck...this episode screwed me up
We know where they ripped the Twilight movie from.
At least Angel was more caring on breaking up with Buffy. Edward was just mean and cruel. You can still break up with someone, explain your reasons while not hurting the person. That's what twilight did wrong.
Oh plz angel fooled agian buffy will never leave em wow i said bite me
This was so sad 😢
those two are a tragedie
one of the most heartbreaking scenes 😢
@Mark Guerrero Lifts the curse off of him?
Joyce had a lot to answer for! When it comes to matters of the heart, it's no good thinking with the mind! Love is Love , it's not a cold calculation ☹
Joyce looking out for her daughter do you how a mum concern about you look how old angel he can t have a life the way she wanted him to do he not human he may got a soul is dpesn t make any lease of one
I was only 11-years-old at the time when Season 3 wrapped up. I was so disappointed about this scene. I was pissed off that Angel was no longer a main character on the show. I refused to watch Angel for that reason. I did not want to believe that this was the end. I eventually watched it and I loved it. Not nearly as good as BTVS in my opinion, but good.
I look at this as an adult and I now have an understanding as to why Angel had to go. Buffy and Angel really did not have a solid future together for all of the reasons that he just explained. But, Angel was such a significant character to the BTVS franchise, so it made sense that there had to be a spinoff series.
Same I was 11 too ! It made me cry so much I still remember exactly where and when I was when I was crying lol. As an adult I understand Angel. In general men are more able to think with their head than their heart
This is how my bf broke up with me :(
If we all think about both bangel & Spuffy was so unrealistic. Unless she was going to become a vampire neither ships would last. It was fun to love & fantasize but the best man for buffy was actually Riley bc he was human. Buffy with Spike or Angel future was her growing old & dying & them hurting watching it happen. Sucks.
So... let us recap. Guy dumps girl so she can date a good normal guy and have children...
Two years later, she's in abusive relationsip with a soulles demon, get expelled from heaven and has no real income, while dude lives in a fancy hotel, is worshiped by his friends and has a baby.
Sounds legit.
Yeah I'd say Buffy drew the short end of the straw there 😂 but Spike can make love to Buffy which..angel unfortunately cant do cos otherwise he'll turn evil 😔
You also don't realise that his baby ends up getting kidnapped, grows up to hate him and tried to kill him several times. Then that same kid screws the woman he once loved or thought he was in love with for a time (in his show), and ends up giving birth to a demon. In the end, he gets into a relationship with a werewolf and still gets a kiss from the first woman he loved by the end of HER show. Both a win/win even though they both got screwed in the middle. An no, the girl was supposed to die but got brought back and so it f**ked her up big time. She should've stayed dead.
@@RitsychServare oh they realize. They just ignored all that Angel went through on his own show to try and make him look like an asshole. Pretending like he left and moved to LA and everything was like smooth sailing for him. Cause an evil lawfirm didn't bring Darla back from the dead and tried to seduce him into going evil or manipulated him into total despair.
If he was truly loved her he would fight for her and find a way to get rid of the curse but he didn't becauss he's a narcissist he liked to see he suffer their relationship is a narcissistic one
OMG how sad 😭😭😭😭😭
Sadly, everyone around them was against them being together except for maybe Willow. Joyce told Angel the same thing as Wilkins did.

Is there an open widow cuz I felt the cold breeze when buffy mentioned angels heart. That's gotta hurt if angel is a demon he has soul of a man.
How buffy talking like that wannabe be with him notice what angel is feeling he can't be around her the love for set him off i know he got soul if he want to keep the soul all she talking like a spending life with him why can t be a vampire don t think angel would like for her I know breaking is hard to do i know it hurt to saying it but she making difficult for him he dong right thing buffy just thinking about herself
his respect to Joy are really the best
i mean, i know Angel thinking there was no future too (at least for now) but without Joy push, they can never be separated (or TPTB)
angel was the best
It was difficult and this wasn’t an act when David and Sarah read thru and at near close to the finale wont get to have more scenes with again (least for awhile) but because with the Mayor and Joyce they were right which is Nessary Angel didn’t want too💔😑 but have to let her free and did the right thing😞👍but Buffy just isn’t on the correct level with by denying the fact of their paths are different and angel can only be out at night time and cannot have perfect happiness as long his soul is remained contained without risk of popping the cork from a bottle of his evil counterpart out again and angel’s explaining about someone that could take her to the light, unfortunately won’t be that easy😑 around the Sunnydale blocks someone only won’t have similar to angel’s personalty even if happens to be the next who’s a non vamp BF but won’t have comprehend wise knowledgable as him or spikes only the opposite to as a prejudice and insecurity jealousy level targeting demons but one of isn’t the bad one like Angel himself with a soul, is no threat just can complicate things and after what Buffy went thru she survived the painful only wont get to have any other the right mortal prince but him or spike that who can’t accept while during in apocalypse💔😑
This is just like me and my ex
Shit breakup
Expected more from an old vampire
the stupidest breakup of the tv history. angel was a coward, spike was not. he never ran away from his feelings. but then buffy was stupid to not see that. anyways spike is 10 times better than angel. i miss him .. he is like the godfather of damon salvatore lol.
I love Angel more than Spike but yes I get why you're saying Angel is a coward
liar
*sigh* I loved their love so much during the three first seasons. It was tragic and beautiful. Of course, I was upset that they can’t be together and that Angel left. But I accepted it. Angel loved Buffy so much that he wanted her being happy, even without him, because he knew he will never give what she deserved to her. Because of his curse. And he did it twice. Same thing in « I will remember you » in his spin-off. This was beautiful. Was.
Because then... Okay, I just watched some episode of Angel TV show, but... What the hell is wrong with him, now?? Seeing him acting like a child, becoming jealous of Riley and Spike because of Buffy, wanting to be her forever love... That’s not Angel! Why did he become so pretentious then? I mean, in « The Girl In Question », he totally ruined the tragic and beautiful ending of season 2, pretending to Spike he made Buffy killed him just for showing off. Of course, separately, every jealous scene is funny. But this really reduce Angel’s character.
I KNOW this is hard for him, because his curse prevents him to be truly happy. But I just don’t recognize him anymore. And he is one of my favorite character. But only in Buffy’s first seasons and in his flashbacks.
When Riley and Spike are jealous, of Angel or just jealous of each other, they stay the same. Okay, they can act like children. But Riley just want to protect her and Spike can swallow his pride and isn’t upset of Buffy. Spike never shows off about his relationship with Buffy during his confrontations with Angel (maybe I missed some parts, so I can be wrong, but I’m sure that he never showed up like Angel did). And Riley and Spike were even able to form a tense moment of peace with each other as they drank together. Okay, Spike showed off in « As you were » when Riley returned in season 6. But this works with his personality. He likes provocation. And Riley never act jealous to Buffy about Spike.
So what is Angel’s excuse? Plus, I read that he is still jealous of Spike in the comics while he is dating Buffy. And blamed her. Now, I am disappointed of him :/
Angel only acts jealous in choosen but not in the rest, in the yoko factor the confrontation arises because Riley thinks that angel has turned bad.
As for the girl in question, I think that Angel was trying to parody a tragic moment. That whole episode is a parody to enjoy the couple angel and spike.
Spike has also become jealous when he hits a sack with the angel face or when he tells him how many times he threw it at him.
Riley also when she attacked angel believing him to be angelus.
Simple solution: Angel turns Buffy into a vampire and ensouls her. Eternal love!😁
I honestly don't know it has never been brought up as a solution lol
Am i tweaking, I couldve sworn Angel crossed over with Charmed....Just searched it up and nothing

they were never meant to be anyway riley was a replacement to angel
Lets see, Angel, Parker, Riley...Spike. Buffy has a penchant for losers.
@supernova girl Badboy guys who have no future, who bring a toxic element to a woman who seems to eat it up like candy. Both relationships were abusive to some extent. And neither one of them could change beyond what they were. So, yeah. Losers.
Jon Harper That’s pretty harsh. Parker was a loser because he was a womanizer/hoebag who used girls like Buffy. Angel is a vampire. He doesn’t get choices like humans do. Angel was good towards Buffy up until they had sex which made him lose his soul, but it wasn’t actually him. Neither Buffy or him knew that was gonna happen. How can Angel be a loser when he did the adult thing by letting Buffy go, and letting both of them move on with their lives? And he did some great things after the relationship ended. If anything Angel was actually a great boyfriend. It’s obvious you haven’t met true losers.
@@catcat3964 he also had no real growth as a person until he got away from her. He was essentially locked in a state of stasis. Same thing every day and night. And he offered Buffy no real future. Also, kinda creeped out he was serving on a 15 year old girl and stalking her. This is Joss Whedons idea of a perfect love story? I think it's a sexual predator grooming an underage girl.
