I traveled in this Rajdhani in1996... tab train mein chadhte hii har passenger ko bani banayii Chai ka poora flask dete the...khaana dinner set mein hota thaa...very high
Quality and I was in AC2 not 1 tab services itni VIP thii ...plus it had unique orange yellow livery Poore...Rajdhani looked unique and grand...
And those 3-4 chocolates(eclairs) with every food.. 😄
Pta nhi desh k baaki Rajdhaani Express mein aisi consistent high class services kyu nhi hai, jo shuru karti hai woh usse level ki services maintain nhi kar paati.
I first travelled in this train in 1973 when I was 6 in AC chair car. This was the ultimate in luxory in those days. Even in CC they serve the food in cutlery, & play soft music.
But over the time the train has lost most of its glory.
Earlier it used to have sply designed tickets like of Airlines.
And now it's just a glorified AC LHB train like so many.
Atleast they can give both of them Tejas livery...
Ticket price costs less now a days

The king of indian railways for a reason. Highest priority on tracks. The tastiest meals and unlimited overtakes of other rajdhani, shatabdis and superfast trains....ive travelled in this train multiple times and every time jb destination ke paas pahuncha to ye lga ki kash ye journey aur lambi hoti ❤

When steam engines pulled passenger trains in India, Rajdhani used to be pulled by a huge steam engine often called a "Canadian engine". Howrah to New Delhi Jn used to take around 16 hours - with only three stops between H and ND. The stops used to be Dhanbad, Mughal Sarai and Kanpur.
Howrah Rajdhani was never pulled by a Canadian Steam engine. From the beginning it had been getting a Diesel loco ( MGS - Mughalsarai based WDM 4). Later on this was replaced by a WAP 1 E loco.
This singara is of Bengal. Bengali cuisine is totally different. Singara and aloor chop are mouth watering. Try sandesh also. Everybody loves it

The reason why Rajdhanis are loosing their uniqueness is because they have started to become common trains. Most people can now afford them and that is one of the major reasons for it. Its not that special anymore (except for the priority that they receive on the route, which is still very special).

A normal 3Ac costs 2100 and rajdhani costs 3500..

Travel on Indian Railways is so much more fun . I have travelled on the Amtrak in the US and the experience is nothing like on Indian Railways. My last visit to India I fondly remember my journey on the Gatimaan .
So nostalgic...have traveled in this countless times..
Travelling in Rajdhani was our ultimate luxury back then....

Bhai ji 34:50 jo station skip hua hai woh Firozabad nahi tha, Woh Shikohabad Junction tha.
Firozabad toh tab skip hua tha jab wahaan par Magadh express khadi thi.
There is around 20 km distance between both the stations (SKB & FZD)

Yaar, honestly, Mumbai Rajdhani aur August Kranti Rajdhani ko bhi 2 extra First AC coaches dene chaahiye. Unka demand bahut high hain. Aur Mumbai Rajdhani, mere hisaab se, Howrah Raj se behtar hain.
Han in terms of speed only.......but most celebrated rajdhani was howrah rajdhani......still now it is most prioritize train in India but it is loosing its glamour

I think till 1980-85 Rajdhanis was running with 6-8 bogies.I was watching it at Dadar-Matunga(Mumbai Rajdhani) when I was in college & within few seconds it was disappearing(speed limit max.was about 80-90).After 1985 it was running with 10-12 bogies with orange colour twin alcos.Speed limit max.was 90-100.Again it was disappearing within few seconds.

Happy Bengali New Year and as a Bengali whenever we go to Kolkata we enjoy Bengali food and sweets there and whenever anyone comes here from Kolkata they also bring sweets from there and here in Prayagraj also we have few good Bengali sweets shop from where we get good Bengali sweets.Prayagraj has got Sangam, Lete Hanuman Temple, Anand Bhavan the house of Nehru's where Indira Gandhi got married, Alopi Ma Temple, etc.
