hi mate iv just been gifted a 1972 RALEIGH droppy i mainly into mountain bikes but anything vintage interests me bike i got gifted old guy baght in new coz his age hasn't rode it in 15 years but its all original and everything still works amazing gift he seen my restorations and gave it me free only one thing he wanted from me make it pritty again
That is absolutely awesome, mate. I have two bikes just like that. 👍 I love the old guys that hold on to the bikes for years as you know they have not been messed around with and, in most cases, are catalogue spec 😎

I agree 👍 seems so much more detail goes into them and have some many little quirky details. I absolutely love the cable mount position on ghis frame 😍.

Honestly, mate, I dont know the answer to that one. Also, I asked my mate why he did not demand, and they put it right, and he said that he did not trust them. However, I don't think he paid for the work that was done wrong on the wheel. We don't have many great shops around Nottingham mate 👍
@@BikeShedBoy What is Halfords? Someone is always complaining about that place. Is that related?
Halfords is a shop where you can go for car stuff and bike stuff and outdoor leisure stuff but don't have a great reputation. I would honestly say it's not the staff fault as great training is not given, and that goes for pritty much the UK 👍

Kinda odd about the training , you seem to know quite well how to do a quality job. Guess that’s why you have a steady supply of buddies bikes to fix.
@EriebyCycle I used to work in a few shops over the years, mate, and so I've seen it all go downhill. It's a shame to be fair.

I'm totally unsure on that one, I have read some stuff online about the brand but have found some stuff constrictive. Hence why I never believe everything I read online, mate 👍

@@BikeShedBoyYou meant "INCONCLUSIVE" about 1970's road cyclist from France , Eddy Mercxx . I have a book about him written by his mechanic , Lenard Zinn . It was a birthday present from my Uncle Bruce . I also have Lenard Zinn's wheel building textbook .

I believe it was briefly true. Great guy. Took time off from the bike world, moved to Marin County, re-ignited his passion, started building bikes again, and then moved up to Oregon.
@MarkJones-si2bb He definitely built some great bikes and picked great names for them. He left his mark on the industry with his iconic bikes for sure, mate 👍
