Ies maypole DANCING was so joyous. MAYBE if we'd return some of these gentile customs our youth would have joy to remember not guns knives swords and blood to REMEMBER. The wonderful sounds of laughter and aroma of beautiful Flowers are so MUCH in need

There is a movie about this celebration, Midsommar. Old and terrorific pagan sacrifice.

You're Mediterranean or Latinx, therefore; I don't think that you understand about this tradition. The only thing you can think of when observing this old tradition is to compare it to a film.

The film, Midsommar, is not an accurate portrayal of anything other than the current iconoclastic zeitgeist of trying to demonise and deconstruct European culture and identity. I can't imagine such a misrepresentation about anyone elses culture would be considered anything other than a racist attack, especially since the film maker is not of that culture.

This is really Victorian 'Merrie England'. Colourful but fake.

@@Wotsitorlabart First of all, I think you should enroll in a history class at a school again because this video is not filmed in the Victorian era. Second, how is this fake when May Day is celebrated for centuries in England. Wotsitorlabart, you appears to be uncultured and ignorant about history.
