I would say this Helicopter would not be one for a beginner. Just as the reviews suggest this would be for someone who is on the upper side of the beginner level of experience or the lower rung of the intermediate level. Here is what happened to me. I bought this well over 3 or 4 years ago thinking it would be simple to fly. I was intrigued because it was a single rotor and a 4 channel and the size I thought would be good for my living room. This helicopter is very responsive to the controller and fast. You will need a large area to start learning in. If you try to learn this one in a living room you just won't have enough room. That being said, once you have mastered it you can fly it in a living room fairly easy. Compared to other Helicopters this one is surprisingly very quiet, and very smooth to fly. After I bought it several years ago it ended up sitting on my pool table for quite a long time while I honed my skills. Once I was flying without even thinking about the controls I remembered I had this one sitting on my pool table. I took it out into the back yard and was pleasantly surprised at how nice this helicopter flew and how easy it was for me to control. I am now excited to go out and fly this. It's like I bought a new helicopter without paying. It is such a joy to fly! The bottom line is this...If you bought it like I did before your skills were honed, don't quit on it. Eventually you will reach the level needed. If you already have the skills to fly a 4 channel do not hesitate to buy this helicopter! You definitely will not be disappointed.
