apparently the "dead band" you had in yours was not typical, because other people i talked to did not seem to notice that much. so that is good,i am probably going to get this one soon.

A video on the setting of the trim would be really nice, the instructions were vague for sure, and knowing exactly what to look for in order to set a proper trim would be really nice. There is no troubleshooter in the instruction guide which would surely show trim tips. Thanks for your review!

well trimming is pretty easy ,if it's pulling forward give it some back trim,if it's pulling left give it right,etc....

i am assuming you bought one of these. i went through 2 of them, also had experienced heli guy's fly it and we all agreed this thing is garbage,in fact the hobbytown were i bought it said they stopped carying it!

yup. i know exactly what rob was talking about, when i first got into rc planes i bought an acro wot, thinking i could fly it no problem. wrong! i destroyed it.so i bought a second one,but also bought a trainer and flew it until i could fly the acro wot again.

i went through two of these. i could not control them and as far as power goes,i'd give it about a 2 or 3 on a good day,i took the first one back to hobbytown ,and two guy's who fly heli's a lot could not get it to fly right either. so i tried a second one,it was worse than the first, don't waist your money! for 20 dollars more i got the bnf blade 120sr,it's leaps and bounds ahead of this thing!

i went to this straight after a month or so on a decent 3-chan coaxial (I highly recommend the toy brand - Pilot Brand for cheap and decent 3-chan starter helicopters..which you can even find at places like Walgreens. We're talkin 25$'s for learning here.. not a $100 3-chan namebrand quad you wouldn't use for very long anyways) . The initial trimming and figuring out the porportial mix took a little to get used to, but once I had an understanding it was much easier. patience is the key as with anything.
the wash of this just off the ground is pretty loose as they mentioned in the video. get it up a few feet (pretty quickly) and stabilize and after that it runs perfectly. I could even run it in my apartment with no issue after a day, though there is little point because theres nowhere to fly... I was only bringing it up off the ground inside (shortly) on a rainy day so I could work on the trim a bit.
I've never seen this mentioned on other videos - but what I did to do some of the inital adjustments was to put it on a smooth surface (such as a garage floor). Apply just enough power to where it is almost taking off the ground (dancing). When you are getting it to this state you start to see it's movement and where trim is needed. I got the yaw, roll and some of the pitch adjusted this way.. then when I took it off the ground fully the next time it was way more stable and I made a few more minor adjustments and away I went.
Unlike the guys in the video who appear to care and understand the growth a user needs to take when stepping into "serious" RC's -- MANY store clerks want to sell people straight into CP and will act like anything FP is garbage (which is wrong). The Hobbytown I went to even tried to do that, but knowing my experience level, watching reviews, and knowing of my brothers own step into CP well before he was ready, basically informed me that I needed to ignore the clerks at the store.
That said, I've been very happy with the FP110. My brother is going to get the Blade 120sr (I've flown both at this point) as he already has a few Blade products. Another 2c - I liked the build of this one better and know the Blades can't take the same kind of hits/crashes before they are damaged.
If anything the FP110 appears to be slightly more advanced than the Blade 120sr due to the power and proportional mix control. In that regard, the 110 is as advertised and takes a step closer to CP than the other models. The 120sr would probably take less patience to get comfortable and flying (and is a bit smaller/micro). The trade off between these two is mostly durability (110) for slightly easier use and reportedly lighter wash / ground fx (120sr). To say one or the other is leaps and bounds ahead of the other is entirely misleading.

Mine has a horrible pendulum effect. Any ideas on how to fix this?
