This tailsmen works for anything you can physically put both hands on. Weapons like the beast claws and any other dual wield weapon will not work.

if i may ask how much of a damage gain is it with a two handed weapon is it better then running an hairloom talisman

No it only works with weapons that your character can put both hands on
