I’ve done long term parking at TPA. It’s a great experience. TPA is my home airport, it’s always feels wonderful departing/arriving when I go on vacation
Fantastic to see this project from start to finish - can't wait to see the final and see the different in the traffic flow through departure and arrival.
Beautiful design. I'm hoping that the new car-rental center can also become a transit station in the near future, providing access to rail or BRT to points throughout the Metro region.
I'm glad that this looks better than the similar layout in Miami, where you have to take several moving walkways just to get to the train. BTW, how fast will the train go, and what will the headways (intervals) be like?

@@IAFB If I had to guess, I'd say most likely the new Airside D: it's the one addition I noticed in the initial flyover that wasn't covered in either part of this series.
This is awful. The design is beautiful but is not traveler friendly. Imagine having two suitcases and lugging them up an escalator or waiting for an elevator AND THEN having a long ride on a tram dragging all of this stuff. Now imagine the EXTRA time you need to RETURN the rental car.......awful. I'm flying into St Pete from now on.
Absolutely! Getting from Economy Parking to the ticket counter now involves 2 moving sidewalks, an elevator, a train, 2 escalators & another long walk, all while dragging my 2 suitcases & being 68 years old!

gibb1991 Tampa needs light rails !!! As well as a cross bay connection rail to St.pete and Clearwater areas

They are wrapping up phase one and testing the tram cars now. I believe the tram is set to be in full operation Feb-March of 2018.
