I have enormous respect for you in explaining what's going on with your life. It takes guts to be that transparent online to the world. And, it should reduce criticism, good and bad.
I think I speak for most fans of this channel that we watch for your storytelling, dry wit and honesty. Keep keeping on and you'll find your groove again. In the meantime Arizona isn't a bad place to explore. We love Mt Lemmon. We did the back side last year it's gorgeous!
Everyone becomes a 'week-end' warrior once you buy a house, so the videos slow down, just do what makes you happy Chris. Don't worry about your fans. Thanks for sharing.
I went back and watched several of your older videos. I landed on "July 28 - August 4, 2017 - Deschutes, Willamette National Forest, Ursa Minor" Great video, and a beautiful place. This was another video you were pretty honest about what you were feeling, the solitude of the road, and how you miss being around people. Your mood and tone were right there and heartfelt. Over the course of the years I've watched your videos, you have inspired me to camp again, to get outside and take on new adventures. You opened yourself up and watching how the first videos/experiences changed you was such a great experiment, thank you for taking all of us along. Best of luck in whatever direction your future takes you. If you take us along I'll be there. Always keep in mind the countless number of folks you've inspired and continue to inspire.
Personally, what I love about your channel is your story telling, your clean, clear, calm story telling. You can be talking about the new home or about transitioning from a full life on the road to a more intermittent activity. That is probably closer to what most of us can aspire to do 😉
Live your life for yourself. You don’t owe anyone any explanation for how you’re doing it. If people are having a hard time with your changes that’s their problem. The ride up till now has been great, be safe and be happy. You and Shannon make a great team. Enjoy this new chapter in the book of YOUR LIFE. Time passes, things change.
I remember back to your very first episodes. Those first few videos you made, you seemed just on the verge of calling it off and going back to your old existence. Glad you kept going Forward!
After following you for quite some time we feel like we know you. We love how honest and real you are, and enjoy watching all aspects of your life. I would love to see the different house projects you do and my husband and I enjoy seeing Shannon too. We are so happy you have found each other and so much happiness.
Chris, I have been following your channel for about five years now and have thoroughly enjoyed every adventure. Candid stories of real adventure with magnificent cinnomonography. Inspiring and encouraging... Man life is an adventure, just keep doing what you're doing.... We'll go with you, wherever! Just keep telling your story. Safe travels, Perry
Well said Perry! I love the content and simplicity of your videos. I too have been following Chris since early on and would watch his videos with husband and daughter every Saturday! Keep doing your thing Chris and takes along the ride! ❤
I’m happy for Chris. It’s crazy to think people expect him to spend the rest of his life half homeless. I look forward to seeing the house, the improvements and the garden!
I’m so terribly sorry about the loss of your dear Mother. Nothing has been more life changing to me than going through losing my BFF, my Mother. You are a great storyteller and having just found your channel today, I think you do a great job! Thank you and I wish you and Shannon the very best on your adventures! You are a great team!
Chris, we have watched from the beginning, and I think you've finally come home. You are multi talented and whatever you decide to do, you will do to the best of your ability. I'm glad you mentioned your struggle, because long time viewers can tell, I think, that your heart is somewhere else. This is not a criticism, it's an observation, but you need to be true to yourself, so whatever you do, best of luck, because I think you have found your life.
I think what has made you and your channel so successful is you. Orangie is awesome, the scenery you show is awesome, but your personality, relatability and self awareness when you stumble is what really makes your channel great. You don't edit everything out to make it look like all is perfect in your world. I know how hard divorce is and I know how hard losing a parent is. And yet you were able to share about it with countless strangers via your videos. Whatever direction your newest life changes take you, I'm sure you'll be successful and we'll all still be here eagerly awaiting the next Venture4wd video. Thank you for inspiring us to get out there. "Adventure is afoot!"
Chris, I have been watching for many years now and I had always wondered if this time would come. We all need a home base to rest and plan the next adventure. One of the best days of my life was when I became a homeowner, I am extremely happy for you and Shannon. My prediction is that your itch for adventure will remain and you will have more adventures in the future. Your home is a base camp to launch from. Im currently deployed in the middle east and your videos are keeping my spirits high, they always have and always will. I want you to know, I think most of us viewers are here to stay no matter what. I would love to see some videos on this garden you are planning. Keep up the good work Chris and dont worry.
I have watched all your videos. Always look forward to your next video. This may be the 1st time to comment. You shared that you are trying to figure out how to enjoy your new life and still make videos. The good thing is the people that watch your videos will still watch them even if they don't have the same content. I know a couple that go out on bicycles and get wonderful wildlife photos. I go out to a river 8 miles from my house. My channel is a kayak fishing channel but I don't always catch fish and have learned that there are many things that happen during that adventure that I share. One of my sayings is Adventure can be found in your own backyard! Thanks for all your great videos!
Crazy to think I've been watching your videos for over 6 years now. Always have and still do appreciate your blogs, videos and letting us be part of your life. Glad I'm a patreon supporter and will continue to do so.
You're venturing forward through life and this is a part of it. I'm not here strictly for the orange Jeep and off-road adventures. I enjoy your videography, storytelling, and personality. You're not abrasive and click-baity. You're open and realistic with what you share with us. I'd watch you doing house tinkering, working on the Defender, making day trips, etc. You're the channel, not just your content 👍
it`s not necessarily your content ,but the style & and the signature of your video production ,which is the pure essence of Venture 4WD ! therefore the uniqueness of everything you compose is obvious & attractive.have been with you from the day one.much appreciation for your hard and time taking work ,specially the artistic approach !
Good to hear you are moving forward and growing and most importantly happy! It's been an awesome inspiting joruney. Thank you for bring us along. God bless!
I think just being honest that your channel is changing because your life has changed goes along way. Not pretending it’s something it’s not and acknowledging the change in direction makes this channel work again.
Chris, I started following your channel in 2017, and its been my Saturday/Sunday morning routine ever since. I purchased a 2017 JKUS because of you (although since sold for a 4Runner…different story altogether). I’ve since become married and now watch your videos with my 4 year old son. For various reasons I was never able to move into my Jeep/4Runner, but you’ve inspired us to go camping every once in a while and explore. I thought I’d let you know that you’ve had a big positive impact on our lives, and wanted to say thanks.
I think I’ve been watching you since the beginning Chris. I do remember when you decided to pack your apartment anyways so that must have been early on. I’ve always respected how simple you keep things and there is no need to do something big just to entertain us. The old Land Rover, an inflatable kayak, and a hubba hubba tent is entertaining enough.
I've recently discovered your channel thanks to the RUclips algorithm gods, I've been binge watching as much as possible as time permits. I follow many outdoor adventure channels and I have to say that yours, in my humble opinion, is head and shoulders above the rest. You take the time to explain your thought processes and eagerly share tips and ideas. As you had so succinctly stated, it's more a journey than a channel, thank you for sharing your journey. I've been slowly putting together a plan to start my own and this is definitely a wealth of information that I plan to draw from. Again, thank you for sharing and looking forward to continued adventures, wherever they may be
Fellow Pennsylvania Jeeper here, near Erie. Have been watching your videos from the beginning. I love what the channel has become. My advice- Sell the Revel, focus on Orangie. Do a month-long or whatnot overlanding trip once or twice a year. In the downtime, I'd love watching videos of you preparing for the adventure. Could be prepping the Jeep, new gear, logistical planning, etc. You could also fill in an episode here and there showcasing a hiking or bicycling adventure, or just a weekend trip in Orangie.
Greetings from a long time follower in Canada. It takes a real man to explain what's happening in his life and where he hopes to go. I'm only 76 and 3 years ago (after 3 hip replacements... yes 3) I started riding a Cannondale ebike after coxing from our son. Great choice and it does not go anywhere unless I pedal but has electric assist when I'd like some boost, or, the wind to my back.
You're gonna have a blast riding your Trek while getting in shape as a consequence. I started mountain biking 3 years ago and it's part of my identity now. Be patient with the uphills. The fitness will come.
that was some brave driving at 18:00 minutes. my heart was racing... i think my heart stopped for a moment till i realized ooohhh!!! he's got this. cuz you're still here! and hey chris, this is your channel, keep doing your thing. like with the confidence of you driving that edge of the trail. enjoy shannon, your new home and this new chapter in your life. continued blessings! 🕊
Thank you for speaking up about what is going on on your channel. It's more than understandable that you're happy to finally be in a stationary place and happy with your life. That's way more important than anything what viewers are demanding on this channel. I thought about what you could do with this channel in your current situation the other day. Maybe you could do some longer trips (of 3-4 weeks or so) twice a year exploring with your Jeep as we know it from the old days to some interesting destinations across the country and make two seasons out of it. In the time between the Jeep exploring seasons you could show what you do around the house/garden, renovations, fixing stuff on your vehicles, adding new stuff to your vehicles, smaller 3-4 days explorations in your area and things like that. One video every two weeks or so could be enough for those videos between your "exploring seasons". Just a thought, but to me it sounds like a possible compromise between stationary life and exploring. Have a good time and enjoy your new home, wish you all the best.
Dear Chris, I mentioned before, when I found your channel I believe that was when you just started and I was living here in USA for only 2 years, at those time, I was learning English and you help me a lot. Life is made for many cycles, some for long times, some for short time but the most important, be wise to understand when is time to finish on cycle and begin another. For all that you share here, thank you. I hope that you and Shannon can continue to do what you do best. Let's see what new surprises your channel will bring to us. Hugs! Take care y'all!
Looking forward to watching you find what is next. If you would not mind a suggestion it would be very interesting if you were able to do a two week or so trip every couple months but it would cool to see a trip planning episode and a supply list. Then another with vehicle prep and shakedown trip. Set a budget and see if you come in under it. You have a lot of experience on what you need to travel from all your time on the road that would be really helpful for those of us that only do a week or so at a time.
I love this channel 🎉 my husband and I watch it every week together and laugh about the food 😅 seriously, you are a gem Chris and you have such a talent for videography My favorite part is seeing off the beaten path, back country places I would not be able to go at this time. You have been through so much the past few years so rethinking everything is certainly warranted. I think the videography of growing a garden could be a fun adventure Thanks for all your efforts and putting out genuine content ❤❤Hi to Shannon 🙋🏼♀️
We have followed you for quite some time. And are happy to see you thriving. We have followed couples of travel that have settled down. There is always things to film with there homesteads. I'm sure you will find a why to venture forward and take us all along for the ride. Experiment and see where it takes you. We are here to support you. Best of luck😊
Chris, I've known you since the earliest days of your Jeep adventures. Going back to the IRC days when we learned while you were called Cheez-It. I discovered your journey in 2020 and went back to the beginning and have watched you grow both in ability with a camera and with the editing, but mostly as a person. I'm happy to see that you found your place in this world again. I'm also happy that you truly understood what this journey was about for you. For us. It was watching the beautiful places you go but for you it was growth and recovery and I'm happy that you found your place. Please keep making your videos and don't ever let Orangie rust away.
Life sometimes throws curveballs at us and you definitely made the best of it creating this channel. Also continuing with the channel since you have so many followers and you are cut out for video, you're so comfortable behind the camera even talking about toilets and only so many people can make that and eating interesting additions to your video's. We like the back side of the mountain coming in from San Manual. Congrats on making the decision to buy the house with Shannon.
From this video it sounds like you are living near Tucson, if that’s the case I’m jealous. I moved there in March of 2018 From Austin, TX and left in August of 2018 to Raleigh, NC for family medical stuff (everything ended up being fine but we are still here in NC). Those few months we lived in Tucson were amazing and literally everyday since we left we talk about moving back. The proximity to adventure is amazing and the culture in the city (food/drink/people/etc.) is fantastic. Super great place to treat as a base.
... thanks for the inspiration to sleep in my driveway in a backpacking tent, attached to the roof of my suv, crawling through the sunroof and a hole in the tent floor. thank you for the lift and the ride along viewing every episode.
There are times for different things in life and now it's time for a change again. Looking forward where's your journey going next and l will follow you like the last years. Stay safe all together
Your videos are very good. I will watch the Land Rover repairs or the adventures in Mt Lemon or whathever else you produce. Thank you for sharing your journey.
HI. Chris your work is amazing. I will watch what ever you produce. Hey I would get a kick out of watching the paint dry on the spare bedroom. Keep the story telling going
Maybe this gives you a opportunity to plan that trip abroad where you pack Orangey in a container. I would also say that everything in life is an adventure no matter what you're doing Chris. Take us along with whatever you feel comfortable sharing, you have a knack for it and I feel like most of us will follow you through it.
I’ve been following your channel for almost 6 years, even went back and watched the previous episodes when 2020 hit. Your channel has always been inspiring and showed some amazing parts of this country that I’d otherwise not have known existed. What ever direction you decide to go I’m sure you’ll have a good story to tell.
Thank you for sharing this Chris. I'm going through something right now and needed to hear this. I've been following you since the beginning and I'll stick with you as you morph into whatever fits your life.
Congratulations on acquiring your new home. We do what we need to do and what's best to make us happy. I've been a van lifer for two years and love it. However, there is a part of me that wants that "piece of the rock"...a place to go and plant a garden.
For the past 6 years I have been following you. I loved and greatly appreciated all the videos. But I believe this video and future ones will be really fitting for me. 3 years ago me and the wife packed our things and moved to Arizona from Alaska. We were going to use AZ as a home base and explore from there but something came. After 14 years of marriage we were blessed with our first baby in 2022...we now have a baby girl. So plans definitely changed. Sold my FJ Cruiser that I have set up for the last 10 years to a now more baby friendly vehicle...a full size truck. Anyways keep doing what you do best. Welcome to AZ my new neighbor. Cheers!
For anyone who has watched your channel for awhile will know, you seem to find the interesting, the positive and the different wherever you go. Part of it is the location but more about the journey and that very much includes Shannon. Keep creating and we will keep watching!
Chris as long as YOU are happy that's all that matters. If you want to take longer breaks between vids or just transition to different content that's all fine with most of us that have been watching you from the beginning.
It's funny - when I started watching this video, I had the thought that it was going to be interesting to see how you transition your channel to accommodate the fact that you now have a home base. Being a home-owner, I know about the draw of working on fixing things and improving things at home. I like your channel more than most because of how you deliver the content - calm, thoughtful and interesting. I'm sure that I'll continue watching no matter what content you deliver. Keep up the good work!
Keep up what you’re doing! We’ll keep following you on your journey! Take advantage of the extensive bike trails around the Old Pueblo! Also, add Kitt Peak to your southern AZ list.
Been watching from the beginning. Tbh kept watching to find out where this lost soul ends up. But liked the adventures, you went to some crazy places. Was a little envious of the freedom. So I guess I just want to see a vlog type about your new life. So sorry about your Mom. Death like that can changeyour thinking. Start looking for more security stability and realize differences needs. Also congrats on your success with this and meeting Shannon buying a house and everything
Go for it. This is just the next step on your journey. Embrace it and count on your many followers sticking with you. We all think you're extremely talented and interesting. We will be there waiting for what comes next. I think it would be fun to watch you plant a garden and work on your house. I hope you paint it orange..
I totally get it. I’ve been watching since almost the beginning. Life on the road, full time, has to be tough. I’ve often wondered how you were able to do it so long. I’ve always lit up when I saw one of your videos pop up on my list. I always will. Thanks for the years of quality entertainment my friend. It’s been quite a journey. 🙏🏼 OIIIIIIIO
I know this is different for everyone but for me personally you are great at telling a story visually and through narration; and that is the appeal of the channel for me. I watched you from the start of the journey and I am glad you found a happy place, we all deserve that. I would probably watch the channel even of it morphed into a desert gardening show 😄. Change is the only constant 😀. You can't make everyone happy all the time...
Congrats on the new house. I look forward to your videos going forward. They are always great. Watching your videos made me go out and buy a kokopelli pack raft.
I started following you in the spring of 2017 just as I too was burning out at 61 and quit practicing law, too young to be retired but unable to deal with the vicarious trauma of my career anymore. While my wife and I never got a Van we did get a Jeep and over the last six years rebuilt our very "downshifted" lifestyle. We sold our big home and I starting a new career as a Greenskeeper. My mother passed last year as well but like you I am now adjusted and happy. If you want to keep filming there are at least a few years of adventures between the Kofa NWR and the Gila Wilderness. We live in NM near the Guadalupe Mountains and just came back from a Jeep "Tour de Arizona" that included seeing some Spring Training baseball plus mild rural roading; so I for one would love to see more mild do able tracks like this week.
Oh that Jeep trip sounds fun! I’m inspired by people who make lifestyle changes like yours. Thank you for your comment, and enjoy the beautiful Guadalupe’s!
Chris, just keep doing what you're doing, I'll always watch. Stuff happens,Things change and I could see it happening a year or two ago. Some people may abandon you, but I love your videography and your photography and I learned a lot that I apply to my own channel. Just keep on keeping on. You'll always have an audience!
Well Chris. I been watching your adventures since the beginning and always love to see the routes you take for new content on your channel. Yes lately I haven't see that anymore, but yea, you have a house now and some one to share time with; maybe that can be a reason to change the way you was following the adventure. This is jus my opinion. Sell one of the rigs and explore all the areas you think can be far enough so you can back home. much happy. Most of us like me I watch you for orangy and I think you should keep it like that. Hopefully you get the right answer and keep putting your heart in what you do best. Thank you and a big hug to you and family.
Im happy to watch your local Tucson adventures or any YTs you want to do about your life. I grew up in Tucson and am now spending winters there so loving any ideas of where to camp near there in my Storyteller Van. I enjoy your personality so whatever you put out is fine with me. But missing Shannon!
Please do not stop what you're doing and please don't ever stop whatever drives you 4wd! Confucius was right when he supposedly said (do what you love and never work a day in your life). Adapt to the new passions, happiness and success will follow. You may never know the precise number of people you've inspired, but that isn't the point anyway! Adventure is afoot! Fan from Singapore! 🇸🇬
My favorite RUclipsr on my favorite mountain! I felt it in my core when you talked about how you packed up and left in 2017. We did the same. Moved to Arizona and haven't regretted it for one day. So jazzed you and Shannon have found a place you can be happy. 🤜🤛
Chris, love the channel, will keep watching whatever course you take. You can't ride around in a Jeep for the rest of your life. Would be nice to see some variety in Jeep, Camper, LR, or house stuff. Keep making videos and we'll keep watching.
Excellent, excellent!! Great work Chris. I've only commented once before and you happen to mention my comment in your next video. I am so happy to see you settle down (especially in our state Arizona). I am actually more intrigued to watch your upcoming videos knowing that I will not actually know your routine for the next video. Previously when you were full-timing, I knew what every episode roughly was going to entail (minus the location and route), so I really had to be in the mood to click "at that moment, as I eventually would watch all of your content" however, now when I see a new video of yours I am eager to click and view". I love that you are in a place now to house your different modes of exploring "even the bicycle". Having a home base means adding workspace and tools which obviously aids in repair and upgrading (all just more content and variety). We have various similar personalities and backgrounds (emotional, relationships etc). You are actually moving4wd! When you're mobile, you have to keep going somewhere however, when you're static and choosing to keep on keeping on with your passions it actually resonates with a way bigger audience. You were living a life previously that less than 1% could relate to due to children, jobs, family care commitments etc. Now you are way more relatable and you efforts to get out and break the mold of standard home ownership is spot on! Great work Chris! Jeffrey - Goodyear, Arizona
Thank you Jeffrey! The permanent space to house tools and do more of my own in-depth repairs and tinkering has been so welcome. That was always one of the most stressful logistical challenges when full-time.
It's not floundering Chris. It's simply trying new and different things. Nothing wrong with that. Huge respect for you being bold. Who is to say you can't do it all.
Chris, I’ve been with you from the beginning and like that you’re finally commenting. I really can’t believe you only have 70k followers, should be much more. You and Orangie are iconic. (My favorite Jeep setup) I really like the van, heck i would really love to have one some day. Maybe do a once a month or two adventure in the Jeep and make it epic. Do some trips in the van in between. They are two different kinds of camping and I enjoy both. Finally have fun with the house. It’s very rewarding fixing it up and making it yours. You have to do what makes you happy not everyone else.
Chris I’ve been a follower since day 1! Keep doing what you’re doing just video when you go out. You have a solid fan base who love you for who and what you do.
There are thousands of adventures in your new home state/ home base! You driving around up by Wickenburg got me to subscribe a few years ago. Just keep cruisin around and we'll keep watching
Chris thank you for expressing where you’ve been and where you are now. It’s got to be a challenge trying to adjust to having a place to leave things rather than pack it all into a vehicle and hit the road daily… The only similar situation I’ve experienced was in the late 70’s while working as a trainman for Conrail, mostly out of Rutherford yard just east of Harrisburg. The majority of the time being on either the yard or road “extra list” due to my lack of seniority. Rather than having set hours I was on call 24/7 for whatever jobs needed filled. I loved getting called for an Allentown train, especially if my limited seniority would allow me to chose the caboose. Nothing was more enjoyable than traversing the Pennsylvania countryside on a crisp autumn day. Unlike a “normal job”. being a railroader meant my whole life was in my grip (a bag for extra clothing, food if you wanted to eat on a twelve hour shift and required railroad gear). Going from that lifestyle to a 9 to 5 job was an adjustment, no more grip to cary, lunch was scheduled, and I knew where and when I was working every day… It’ll take some time for you to adjust to this new stationary lifestyle, but I’m sure you’ll find your path soon enough… BTW my time with the railroad was short lived, but I wouldn’t trade that experience for anything. I feel it was the best job I ever had even taking pay into account.
If there were no more venture4wd episodes after today I’d just like to say that I have enjoyed the ride along! It’s inspired me to travel more and get out of my comfort zone. We are all slaves to time and there is a time for every purpose. Embrace it and learn to enjoy the moments as they came and go.
Your happiness is most important at the end of the day. I enjoy your channel regardless of where you live dude! I'm just happy to see a new long-run video (20 mins +) thanks for all the new places you've introduced me to and the little things I've learned watching your journey!!
Chris, I've been following for years and first off I'd like to thank you for all the content over that time. It's been very inspiring for me to get out and explore. What I loved about Venture 4wd was the beautiful scenic footage and the exploration. There are other channels I go to to see hard core wheeling, 4x4 fabrication, van life etc. but what you did so well was explore new places, the roads less traveled. You came through my area years ago on roads I'd never heard of! I'm glad to see you happy and my suggestion for the future is this. Less frequency, higher quality, 22 min+ content. I would love to only get one quality V4wd video a month (or whatever frequency works for you). If you could find a way to create your old style content sustainably, just with a reduced frequency. That's what I'm looking for to keep me on as a Patreon supporter. Whatever you do I hope it makes you happy, you rock!
Thank you, Matthew, and thank you very much for your Patreon support. We will certainly be toying with the format and frequency going forward. I appreciate your kind comment.
Other overlanders have a stationary home and make it happen. If you want to do it, you will find your version of that. Keep going, keep moving…I will keep watching. 😎🥾🥾
There is a lot to explore in Arizona. And you have an amazing knack to find hidden gems. I would watch simple weekend explorations. I enjoy you method of story telling.
Chris has always been honest about who is and what HIS goals in life have been and continue to be. This whole channel was never about US it was about him and that is just fine with me. Nothing stays the same he seems to be more able to adapt than some of this channel's viewers are!!
I came to this channel right after you started it because I saw an orange Jeep. As a life-long Jeep guy, what struck me most was that this wasn't just a Jeep channel. Yes it was raw in the beginning but you could see the potential. You weren't pitching products or making sponsored videos. It was your life, and it was evolving before our eyes. Not only that, the photography and videography showed potential, and soon potential became an incredible window into places and scenery that I couldn't get enough of. So things have changed. You have a new home and a relationship. I don't see that presenting you from doing what you've always done. So enjoy Arizona. I've always said you're an honorary Arizonan. Now you're just and Arizonan. I think your audience will be stunned to see what you can find when you explore all four corners of the state. Not to mention California, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, and even New Mexico. There's adventure everywhere. I'll be watching.
Thanks for speaking to us on this video Chris! I think one of the things that slightly got to me as an original viewer was the videos going on acting like nothing was changing when it was obviously going to. You’ll figure something out and I hope you keep us updated even if it doesn’t fit the original narrative.
I so love your honest expression of life challenges!! Actually your home base lifestyle is very much the norm. So adventures you plan while living in your house could be quite appealing. How do we live a life of adventure while living in a home base! Your storytelling is awesome!!
Life takes into so many journey, and we all just have to learn to flow w/ those energies-calling. Your channel is venture4wd not just outdoors, but w/ all journey you experience in the moment, be it at home or outdoors. Your fans will still be here. It's all part of sharing one's lessons/experience w/ your viewers to inspire. JUST BE & you will always be supported/loved. WE APPRECIATE you for being real.
I have enormous respect for you in explaining what's going on with your life. It takes guts to be that transparent online to the world. And, it should reduce criticism, good and bad.
Thanks Jack.
💯
I think I speak for most fans of this channel that we watch for your storytelling, dry wit and honesty. Keep keeping on and you'll find your groove again. In the meantime Arizona isn't a bad place to explore. We love Mt Lemmon. We did the back side last year it's gorgeous!

Keep putting videos out there and I’ll keep watching. Thank you!
Well said .

Thank you for the kind message, Woodrow.
Thank you Perry, I appreciate it!
Totally … excited u are in my backyard🤩 hope u love it here like I do!!!!
Bravo, we’ll said! 👏👏👏👏👏
Thank you, Andrew, and thank you for your service, sir.
Been watching a long time, Chris. This is just another part of your journey. I have no doubt you'll find a way to adapt. Glad to see you happy.
Good to hear you are moving forward and growing and most importantly happy! It's been an awesome inspiting joruney. Thank you for bring us along. God bless!
You could say he is continuing to Venture4wd just the story is a little different.
Thank you Guy! And Dave!
We’ve clicked for the content but stayed for your character. I’ve been watching for a while now and I’ll continue to do so. Thank you
I appreciate that, thank you.
I think just being honest that your channel is changing because your life has changed goes along way. Not pretending it’s something it’s not and acknowledging the change in direction makes this channel work again.
🙏
Again, thank you for sharing and looking forward to continued adventures, wherever they may be
So kind of you, 🙏
Fellow Pennsylvania Jeeper here, near Erie.
The fitness will come.
that was some brave driving at 18:00 minutes. my heart was racing... i think my heart stopped for a moment till i realized ooohhh!!! he's got this. cuz you're still here!
and
hey chris, this is your channel, keep doing your thing. like with the confidence of you driving that edge of the trail. enjoy shannon, your new home and this new chapter in your life.
continued blessings!
Love the evolution of the channel Chris and I will continue to follow along on your journey!
I love this channel 🎉
my husband and I watch it every week together and laugh about the food 😅
seriously, you are a gem Chris and you have such a talent for videography
My favorite part is seeing off the beaten path, back country places I would not be able to go at this time.
You have been through so much the past few years so rethinking everything is certainly warranted.
I think the videography of growing a garden could be a fun adventure
Thanks for all your efforts and putting out genuine content ❤❤Hi to Shannon 🙋🏼♀️
Variety is good. We just enjoy following along no matter what you are doing.
Really appreciate it, thank you!
I've been with you from the start and applaud your honesty! Enjoy your home per you deserve it. Cya on the road sometime! Timmy C Arizona
🙏
HI. Chris your work is amazing. I will watch what ever you produce. Hey I would get a kick out of watching the paint dry on the spare bedroom. Keep the story telling going
Ha, we’ll hopefully we won’t put you through that 😂🤣. But I appreciate it!
Still the best overland channel on RUclips
Maybe this gives you a opportunity to plan that trip abroad where you pack Orangey in a container. I would also say that everything in life is an adventure no matter what you're doing Chris. Take us along with whatever you feel comfortable sharing, you have a knack for it and I feel like most of us will follow you through it.
International is hopefully in the cards some day.
So true! You’ll know when the time is right.
Thank you Tim!
I pull weeds now! 🤣😂
@@venture4wd Right! Hard to create content there!
Haha orange would certainly be on brand!
Thank you Sean, I appreciate it!
I love Mt Lemmon! It's absolutely beautiful up there. They have the best Oktoberfest up there!
I have followed you from the beginning and will continue to follow what ever direction you decide. Remember I enjoy the honesty and authenticity!
Thank you!
Really appreciate your comment thank you!
I’ve loved following your adventures for the past 6 years. Excited for the next 6.
Congrats on the new house. I look forward to your videos going forward. They are always great. Watching your videos made me go out and buy a kokopelli pack raft.
Awesome as always. Thanks for sharing and taking us along
Glad you enjoyed it
I started following you in the spring of 2017 just as I too was burning out at 61 and quit practicing law, too young to be retired but unable to deal with the vicarious trauma of my career anymore.
I've loved every moment so far Chris. Looking forward to whatever comes next.
Thank you!
Chris: bought a bike to get in shape. Also Chris: time for chips and queso. 😅👍. Love it
Thank you!
I’m sure everyone would love to see your adventures at home! Make the garden, paint your room and take us along.
That would be nice to see
Thanks Rebel Girl and Tau Rota, we’ll see how it all goes!
Im happy to watch your local Tucson adventures or any YTs you want to do about your life. I grew up in Tucson and am now spending winters there so loving any ideas of where to camp near there in my Storyteller Van. I enjoy your personality so whatever you put out is fine with me. But missing Shannon!
I've enjoyed your adventures from the beginning and look forward to where this "road" takes you.
🙏
Thank you!
Chris, love the channel, will keep watching whatever course you take. You can't ride around in a Jeep for the rest of your life. Would be nice to see some variety in Jeep, Camper, LR, or house stuff. Keep making videos and we'll keep watching.
🙏
Chris it's been a great five years watching your videos
Thank you!
I’m super happy you have found your happy place and Tucson is awesome community! Remember it’s about the journey not the ending…
Thank you! Tucson has stolen our hearts.
Thanks! Will do!
There are thousands of adventures in your new home state/ home base! You driving around up by Wickenburg got me to subscribe a few years ago. Just keep cruisin around and we'll keep watching
You are totally right! Thank you.
Chris thank you for expressing where you’ve been and where you are now. It’s got to be a challenge trying to adjust to having a place to leave things rather than pack it all into a vehicle and hit the road daily…
The only similar situation I’ve experienced was in the late 70’s while working as a trainman for Conrail, mostly out of Rutherford yard just east of Harrisburg. Going from that lifestyle to a 9 to 5 job was an adjustment, no more grip to cary, lunch was scheduled, and I knew where and when I was working every day…
It’ll take some time for you to adjust to this new stationary lifestyle, but I’m sure you’ll find your path soon enough…
BTW my time with the railroad was short lived, but I wouldn’t trade that experience for anything.
Now that I’ve exercised I’m going to have chips an queso. That’s awesome
It’s all about balance ;-)
Your happiness is most important at the end of the day. I enjoy your channel regardless of where you live dude! I'm just happy to see a new long-run video (20 mins +) thanks for all the new places you've introduced me to and the little things I've learned watching your journey!!
I appreciate that!
Hey Chris do what you do...
We will be there to enjoy your channel.
Thanks!
That's the plan!
Things reach to the end, sometimes necessary but it just the beginning of a new stages. Be happy. You have a new family now.
Yes! Thank you!
There is a lot to explore in Arizona. And you have an amazing knack to find hidden gems. I would watch simple weekend explorations. I enjoy you method of story telling.
Thanks!
I'm here no matter what chris, love this video cause I'm exhted to see you revel whatever you do in here till you say goodbye
Just continue to evolve and let the story do the same. Great episode thanks from Canada 🇨🇦!
Thanks!
Chris has always been honest about who is and what HIS goals in life have been and continue to be. This whole channel was never about US it was about him and that is just fine with me. Nothing stays the same he seems to be more able to adapt than some of this channel's viewers are!!
Thank you Comanche Dawn. I appreciate that.
Good luck with your future endeavors. Whatever they will be. We are here for you.
🙏
Thank you! There’s beauty to be found everywhere, that’s for sure.
Thanks for speaking to us on this video Chris! I think one of the things that slightly got to me as an original viewer was the videos going on acting like nothing was changing when it was obviously going to. You’ll figure something out and I hope you keep us updated even if it doesn’t fit the original narrative.
Sometimes it takes a minute to even understand what’s going on enough to articulate it. I appreciate you hanging in there.
I so love your honest expression of life challenges!! Actually your home base lifestyle is very much the norm. So adventures you plan while living in your house could be quite appealing. How do we live a life of adventure while living in a home base! Your storytelling is awesome!!
Great video. Very inspiring to hear how your journey has changed. Very glad for your happiness, and know you will find the next chapter.
🙏
