Love this area and spend some much time camping around there. There was a fox who frequented the area around the boulders we saw it a few times. I even had one Photo in Arizona Highways magazine of the fox.
Hey Chris! I’m loving your recent content! You still have some of the old flavor with also new stuff like what’s going on with your house! It was also good to see Shannon again! And I love that you’re seeing some very desolate and rarely explored areas of Arizona! With that said, I can’t help but think about your safety being alone in the AZ desert. I hope you carry some sort of personal protection with you. I learned many years ago that help is few and far between in those desolate areas and there can be a few crazies lurking out there. I mean, maybe you already do carry something to protect yourself with and you just don’t wish to feature it. Which I can totally respect. Or perhaps your channel is testament to the back country not being as dangerous as we sometimes think it is. But either way, just hope you stay safe out there and keep on exploring! Watching your weekly videos is such a treat! Sincerely-Former Arizonan who can no longer explore AZ as often as I’d like to.
I love this! You actually get out and moto your Revel. The Sprinter van seems to have become the new, gentrified, surfer vehicle here in Santa Cruz, CA. All the offroad gear. The tires never touch dirt.
Another great video Chris. Thank you. I see you found one of our local delicacies. Fried chicken and cocktail sauce. Yum! Get extra garlic bread to make your famous grilled cheese sandwiches. You won’t regret it.
Good to see Shannon again if only briefly! am a 77-year-old widow with a Storyteller van who has been a Patreon of yours for years. I am a Tucson native living in Maryland for 55 years but now spending winters in Tucson. I love seeing the places you go in southern AZ. I did a lot of camping solo last winter but always in statr parks and national monuments. I am not worried about being by myself or about my health-I have a Garmin. I would love to disperse camp in the desert but my worry is a vehicle breakdown. My van is in excellent shape but even a flat tire would be too much for me to handle. If you had a breakdoen out there thst you couldnt repair yourself, is there anyone you could call who would come Out to tow you or make a repair? I don’t think AAA would come Way out on a dirt road.
A flat tire or out of gas is an emergency out here many times a communication with the local search and rescue will get you out first and will then help get your vehicle out also.
I used to have the same concerns but overcame them when I realized what I was missing out on. A flat tire (in the tread) can easily be repaired with a plug kit & air compressor. The orange things he has on the roof are traction boards used for getting unstuck in mud. There are off road recovery companies that can come help you in stickier situations. The 4x4 Sprinter is a much more capable vehicle than people realize. Your van is new & very reliable. With Mercedes engineering I highly doubt you would experience any mechanical issues. I mainly watch Chris' Revel videos and rewind often to study the terrain in AZ/UT/CO he takes it on. If he can do it, you can too!
You can call Arizona 4x4 Off Road Recovery and they can get you from anywhere. Kinda like Matt's Offroad Recovery. Also absolutely make sure you have several gallons of water with you. There have been some tragedies that could have easily been avoided.
Great scenery. Glad you are enjoying the great state of Arizona outdoors. Looking forward to episodes showing areas I have been to, lots to choose from. Thanks for sharing.
I've settled on an f150 and full size trucke bed pop up camper. Has all the amenities of a van minus a bathroom and capabilities of a 4wheel drive truck to get far back and through challenging enough obstacles confidently. It's been a great middle ground.
Nice! Way to get that van out there dude! Bisbee is a cool town for sure, and if you have not, consider checking out Kartchner Caverns State Park - has a nice cave tour.
New subscriber tonight. My dogs were freaking out every time your breaks squeaked. Every time you went down a hill they would go nuts! Please fix this 😅.
Chris another great mix of home life and exploration… I’m envious of your “finished” back yard as we’re just starting that process here in NM. Shade is of primary importance as it gets pretty warm in the summertime, not as bad as AZ but relief is necessary… As far as bringing the right vehicle I can compare that to photography, I’m always wanting a different lens as I don’t know what I’ll find till I get there… Stay safe and cool 😎🌵🌞
The area on your map just North East of Florence junction is a popular Offroad area with lots of trail. OnX will have the trail names and rating. Some you won't want to tangle with, but Box Canyon is really nice. If you go North from there across Hwy 60, Montana Mountain trail is a great trail and you could camp at the top where's its cooler. There is also an old stone cabin at the bottom of the switch backs. You could leave Tucson, take Reddington pass below Mount Lemmon and do that whole trip on dirt. This is for your Jeep. Don't forget to stop in Superior for Mexican food.
You should have put on an Albert Einstein wig and told us that you did the wiring yourself and had one small issue. But other than that you are getting the feeling back in your hand and it went pretty good.
I'll buy items to support the channel as We've been subscribed for years and support you on Patreon, love your content, just have a burning desire to cut the string on your hat... 😀
HI CHRIS 👋 YOU PROBABLY HAVE ! , BUT HAVE YOU USED YOUR DRONE IN THOSE SITUATIONS WHERE YOU NEED TO SEE WHAT'S AHEAD OF YOUR TRACK / WAY ? I KNOW IT FEELS GOOD TO GET OUT & WALK ABOUT 🚶♂️ TOO TO STRETCH OUT YOUR LEGS A BIT TOO .
Why don't you have a drone for scouting ahead and get some nice scenery shots ? Good idea on the bike but you need a much better one maybe electric. If you crash you might break something more then your ankle.😀
Using a drone has its own problems. Anything over 250g has to be registered with the FAA. Also one needs a Federal TRUST Certification which isn't a big thing until you're questioned and not have it. Recreational Registration means droning only for personal/family fun.. Anything else but fun than a Commercial Part 107 Pilot License is required. If you use drone photos or drone video on a website (like RUclips) you are required to obtain a 107 Pilot License. Anything related to making or using or producing drone video/ photos for money or benefits requires a FAA Pilot License.. Failure to obtain a License; Certification; or Registration when required will end with extremely high fines $1000 and up. $25,000.00 isn't unheard of. Not complying to FAA Laws is taken extreme seriously. NOTE: Becoming a License Drone Pilot has its own problem. Being a commercial pilot usually requires professional liability insurance, your home insurance won't cover you against liability. One of the biggest lawsuits among Drone Flyers is "Invasion of Privacy Laws".
The AI bots are deleting a lot of comments lately. I’ve seen this happen on multiple channels. It makes the creators look bad because they aren’t deleting them.
Loved the night time sky time laps. I always find them so cool and no two are the same.
💯
Cool time lapse on the moon and stars.
That was truly some incredible scenery. 👍
Thanks for the video!
Very relaxing….enjoyed the natural sounds of the wind and water 👍

Love it. Thanks Chris!
I’m not a big fan of the heat, but there is absolutely something beautiful about the dessert landscape. Good video Chris.
Becoming a true desert rat!

Wow that van sure has a lot of Arizona pinstripes 😆.
7:55 been watching you for years and had no idea you had merch, you should plug it more often. Just bought myself a v4wd shirt, mug and bottle.

The area around this river, you should bring Shannon back to spend a few days. It was really nice. Good video.

JUST chicken fingers?! That's Lucky Wishbone 🤣😍
Nice! Way to get that van out there dude! Bisbee is a cool town for sure, and if you have not, consider checking out Kartchner Caverns State Park - has a nice cave tour.
Chris, you should have the scratches buffed out on the revel and vinyl wrap it in topography graphics. Same with the jeep.

MORNING BUDDY 🌄
You need to get back up to north/central Nevada, southeast Oregon. Owyhee river, Bruneau river, Jarbidge..
Yes sir!
wow... your channel has changed from last time I was around.

ET must be following your channel!👽🛸
good night 😊 from the other side of the world
14:08 Look at those scratches on the Revel you may wanna consider living in the van and not go home lol
Looks like dust then brushed by branches.
I would like to purchase something like your Revel here in the near future before everything sold new goes E.
You should have put on an Albert Einstein wig and told us that you did the wiring yourself and had one small issue. But other than that you are getting the feeling back in your hand and it went pretty good.
Next time you have wishbone try the shrimp sauce
with those chicken fingers.

I'd be afraid to venture out there with all the illegal border crossings. Be safe!
