Thanks for this good review. I've had this radio for a few days and I really like it so far. I don't have the same experience as yours in FM and DAB+, I find mine as sensitive as my Xhdata receiver in FM and no dropouts at all in DAB+ unlike with my Amazon brand kitchen radio. I also have the Pure Elan connect (single speaker version) and although the two radios are quite similar, I really think that the Lemega has a better speaker and a more pleasant design (I have the model with faux bois case).
Yes I do. Still quite happy with it. Its firmware lacks a couple of features the Pure Elan Connect has but what I wrote above still applies. I use it mostly with NiMH rechargeable batteries and they last reasonably long. My only regret is that the Lemega can't charge them. I have to use a separate charger (my Elan doesn't either).
Thanks John. Did you have trouble or hear of anyone having issue plugging the device into a power source? I am in the US and my device does not turn on by plugging in. Very odd
Many thanks john. I got my le.mega to day from Amazon it is great. It is fun to hear radio stations all around the world. easy to set up with the wi.fi ( when you scroll a the way down to the Caps!) the aerial is good for a support stand when set out the back . great quality sound. and so portable.
Glad you liked it. It does have some issues, but in terms of the amount of features and how much it costs, I've not seen anything that comes close so far!
Hello John, I hope you can help! I haven’t used the radio for sometime, as frustratingly I have been unable to use it. I continue to receive the same messages - network error/ select to retry/cannot open selected… Would be so grateful for some advise. I was previously able to use the radio. Thanks in advance 😊 I look forward to hearing from you. Kind regards,
Have you upgraded your WiFi since you last used it? Are you using 5GHz rather than 2.4GHz? I think most Internet radios only use 2.4 GHz... Failing that, you should be able to perform a factory reset on the radio.
That was my question too. The manual is rather obscure on this topic. I've tried your suggestion, which would seem to be the most logical, but no luck so far...
@@jeg1972 I have succeeded. It is just as you said. I've got the knack now. Timing is everything, it's between a short press of the select/power button which informs you there is no preset at that position OR too long a press which turns the radio off. Thank you for your excellent review and for your followup. I shall ordered another unit for downstairs....
If you're looking for a portable, then I have another review coming up which you might be interested in. it may take me a couple of weeks to get it edited and out, but click the bell icon so you'll get informed...
The rotary button is context sensitive, it only acts as a volume button if it's actually on the radio station screen. In any other screen it changes the menu.
Well, there are loads of good DAB/DAB+ for around 80 GBP, but far less Internet enabled radios for this price. You really only have this, the stereo version IR4S, or the Pure Elan Connect and Connect+, see my review on my channel.

Does this have a web interface as the Ocean Digital like WR-23D has? The manual doesn't mention one but so doesn't the manual of Ocean Digital
To save a station to memories #3 to #20, press and hold the 3+ button, turn the volume knob to select the memory you want to save to and push it to confirm. To recall a station, press the 3+ button and select the memory you want to recall with the volume knob. Push it to confirm. Easy.
I think that depends on what data the radio station chooses to send. I've seen track information being sent, so you can see what is being played, but I've never seen cover art being displayed.
Actually after I posted this, I did find stations showing cover art along with the track being played. So, it really is up to the station sending that information to the radio.
It's not too bad, obviously it loses out on bass response, but it is clean and crisp and even if you turn up the volume to max, it doesn't really distort. I have another portable Internet radio review coming up if you're interested, just click the notification and it will tell you when it's gone live.
Hi, when you've dialled to a station you wish to store in a preset greater than 2, simply press the '3+' button, turn the volume selector until you are over an empty preset location and then click the selector one time which should store the station in that location.
Hi, John Gardner I received the radio LEMEGA Radio via portable Internet IR4S, yesterday. I was unable to preset the various stations, only 1 and 2. I saw the revews on this radio and they don't talk about this problem. I looked for more revews until I found yours, about the LEMEGA IR1. I tried to faithfully follow the directions described and failed. Only 1 and 2. Is it different in my model? If you know, I would appreciate some tips for solving this problem, which I thank in advance. Mário
So if I don't have internet in my house but have it on my phone through my phone company, I am guessing that I will not receive a signal on this unless I put it in Bluetooth mode from my phone, would that be correct? So I would have to run my phone battery in order to get a signal?
You could use it just as a Bluetooth speaker, by streaming music from your phone if that's what you mean, but if that's all your going to use it for, it's probably better just to get a dedicated Bluetooth speaker... If you don't have a wireless router in your house, the only other option is to configure a Personal Hotspot on your phone and connect to that Wifi.
Ken, the chipset is by Frontier Smart Technologies and I think they control the database of stations. However, I believe that you can suggest stations using this form; srsupport.frontier-nuvola.net/portal/en/newticket and you can add personal URLs using the instructions here; smartradio.frontier-nuvola.net/
I actually never used batteries during my test, I use a powerbank. If you want to use rechargeable Nickel Metal Hydride or Lithium batteries, you would have to charge them externally and then insert them into the radio.
Olá, tudo ótimo, o seguinte, o meu lemega drena as cargas das pilhas muito rápido, elas descarregam em menos de uma hora. Então estou usando na rede elétrica por ele drenar muito rápido a carga da pilha, obrigado.

It's based on the Frontier Smart Technologies software so it uses smartradio.frontier-nuvola.net. It's pretty good as a portable, but if you're not specifically looking for a portable, there are better Internet Radios out there.
