Despite having no scientific credentials or even an accredited degree, Hovind presents himself as someone who understands the science of evolution better than people with advanced science degrees who research in labs and publish peer-reviewed papers. During his presentations, he sounds like a stand-up comedian when he attacks evolution, or a used car salesman when he is attempting to make a point by getting his audience to buy a video or book from him. Many of his slideshows read like a top 10 list of commonly seen (and refuted) arguments for creationism that contain little to no actual data or proof. These arguments are interjected with painfully unfunny "jokes" and anecdotes, which are topped off with a healthy serving of mined quotes.

Absolutely none of this, is possible. Look up “Noah’s flood heat problem.” In reference to this idea: the heat released from compressing THAT MUCH organic matter (there’s coal layers a dozen miles thick or more), plus all the silicate layers too, in so short a time, would vaporize the entire crust of the earth.
The uranium in those layers would release enough energy to turn the entire planet to plasma.
There’s another problem with trying to account for the fossil record in a single event. The volume of fossils we have, is so great, that if they were all alive at the time of the flood, to be fossilized, there would be no need for a flood. Because the earth would be covered in organic goo several miles deep.

I was born in soviet Ukraine 🇺🇦 and I recently found pre 1917 prophecies on line. There are many orthodox prophecies about a century of ungodliness in Russia a century for Russia without a tsar. Aslo I can't find it online but years ago I read about a vision or a dream an orthodox Christian had seen in Russia around 185os so vision was that he saw Satan asking God to give him 100 years and he will destroy faith in God last year was 100 year anniversary of soviet union so Satan used atheism to destroy faith in God for 100 years even more but with 100 year anniversary of soviet union Satan's time to use atheism is up. As for Russia other prophets stated that Russia will be ruled by filthy devils and after some time they will begin to leave Russia. There are demons of Satan behind atheism and their time to use atheism is coming to an end. Satan used up his time to wipe out faith in God so there has been powers of darkness behind the lie of atheism

KENT HOVIND, the Bible Does NOT Teach that the CREATION of the Heavens, ( Heb. "b'rashith" the Dateless Past ) and the Earth, ( Heb. "Eartz", the Dry Land ) was 6226 years ago !!
In Fact the Passage of 2.Pet.3:5-6, that you quoted, tells us that; "the World that Then Was" Became, ( Heb. "hayah" as in Gen.1:2 ) "Overflowed with Water, and Perished" ( Referring to Lucifers Flood, of Gen1:2, that took place in 4203 B.C., Just Before ADAMS Creation !!
Job. 38:4-7, tells us that The EARTH Was CREATED, quite a Long Time AFTER the HEAVENS ( plural ) were Created !! As the Sons of God Rejoiced when the Earth was Crated !! And Scientists tells us that the Heavens Contain over 40 Sextillion Stars.
We Also read in Heb.11:3, which declares, ..."Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear."
That means that God 'Spoke INTO EXISTENCE', the MATERIAL UNIVERSE !!
So Kent Hovind, how long did it take God to "Create" the Material Universe?
Well the Bible does not Tell Us That !! But we have some interesting "clues" from Gen.1:3-2:3, concerning the "Re-Creative", and Restorative" work, of the Six days.
God took One Day, to divide darkness and light on planet Earth. ( Gen.1:3-5 )
God took another Day, to divide the Waters. ( Gen.1:6-8 )
God took Another Day, to restore "Dry land". ( Gen.1:9-13 )
God took another Day, to regulate the SUN , the MOON and the STARS, in connection with the Restored Earth. (Gen.1:14-19 )
And all this was done by God Speaking, (commanding) it into being, ( as in Gen.1:9,...." And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so."
So Kent Hovind, using a little Common Sense and Logic, based on the facts of the Astronomical Claim, that there are approximately ( 40 Sextillion ) 40,000,000,000,000,000,000,000, Stars in Space, and they tell us that each of those Stars, are a SUN to other PLANETS.
Then the question I have for you, Sir,... is this; If God "spoke" things into being, as is declared in Hebrews 11:3, and God used One DAY, to complete each of the Four RESTORATIVE ACTS in the first FOUR Days or the "Recreation / Restoration" of 6226 years ago !! Would it not be LOGICAL to Assume that God used at least ONE DAY, to "speak into being" Each of the Approximately 40 sextillion STARS that the Astronomers Claim are in the Universe ??
And so, how many YEARS Does 40 sextillion "days" amount to in YEARS, according to your reckoning ???
So you see Kent Hovind, Even though EVOLUTION is WRONG, as to the creative acts of God. Their DATING of Millions of years, might Not be that far off !!!
And One thing is ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN, and that is that the ORIGINAL CREATION of the Heavens and the Earth, in the "Dateless Past", took place much more than 6,226 years ago, and Science and the Bible are Much more COMPATIBLE, than you assume them to be !!
As your limited Knowledge and "Indoctrinated Education", seems to be the MAIN Problem here !! That I as an Educated Biblical THEOLOGIAN, have proven with my simple "base-line questions", which you should seriously consider, before you post any more of this "Young Earth" speculative trash.
    Morgan Sorensen (Biblical Theologian )

Nice the way he presents strawman arguments. They believe because...then opinion...because of lust...don't want god to tell them what to so... Well that just not the case and he knows it. There is solid, verifiable evidence in multiple branches of science that he chooses to dismiss. I mean really, there was never rain before the flood? The mountains formed during or after the flood, Wow. Even if the water was in the crust in caverns, would the bottom of the cavern not be below the water? Oh why 40 days of of rain? he make a lot of "proof" with no proof of his own.

      Thinking Critically
I took the time to look up the definition of the phrase Critical Thinking - and it turns out there are three different types.
Here's the Wikipedia article on it:
Critical thinking is the analysis of available facts, evidence, observations, and arguments to form a judgement.
The subject is complex; several different definitions exist, which generally include the rational, skeptical, and unbiased analysis or evaluation of factual evidence.
      Critical thinking is self-directed, self-disciplined, self-monitored and self-corrective thinking.
It presupposes assent to rigorous standards of excellence and mindful command of their use.
It entails effective communication and problem-solving abilities as well as a commitment to overcome native egocentrism and sociocentrism.
This Wiki definition is similar to, if not the same as, other definitions including the Institute of Critical Thinking.
After reading through this, we can see they are basically saying: critical thinking is the ability to assess information accurately in order to draw correct and effective conclusions.
... which is what science is supposed to utilise to appropriate the scientific method.
Unfortunately ... perception plays a significant role in determining facts.
For example ... it was considered a fact snow is white - but, with the advent of the microscope, we discovered snow is clear like a crystal - and it only appears to be white because light is diffused as it reflects off the crystals.
This means we cannot assert any given fact as absolute - because available evidence is subject to arbitration.
This is why objectivity is critical within the process of effective thinking.
Evidence can be direct or indirect which further accentuates the problem - because subjectivity creates bias toward idiosyncratic beliefs.
Indeed ... we all understand: delusion is an idiosyncratic belief or impression maintained despite being contradicted by reality or rational argument, typically as a symptom of mental disorder.
This means a person who is in a state of delusion may be utterly convinced their ability to sequester critical thinking is liberated from delusion.
... but only the truth can set you free.

It’s not in any way scientifically supportable. The main parts of this theory were proposed over 50 years ago.
Since then, science has uncovered and verified the laws governing radiation decay. We’ve greatly advanced in our understanding of plate tectonics and the structure of the planet. We’ve almost completed an entire history of life through the geological ages. We’ve been to the moon and mars. We know that the moon is made of the same rocks as the Earth. We know what caused a lot of the features on Mars.
The fossil fuel industry has been using the principles of Radiometric decay and geological history, to find ever more elusive carbon based resources. Those folks DO NOT play. • @irenafarm
      @irenafarm 9 месяцев назад +3

This is absolute nonsense. None of those things work that way.
Earth tilt cycles DO affect the glaciation cycles. But it’s a gradual, predictable movement that’s always happening. If the earth’s obliquity suddenly shifted that much, that quickly, the stress on the continental plates would be absolutely catastrophic. We’d have flood basalts on every continent, all at once. Please look up Siberian Traps and The Great Dying to see what a single flood basalt can do to the entire earth. In just that one event, the oceans heated to hot tub temperatures, killing almost all sea life. Temps on land were around 150F except for the poles. There were (they think) poisonous acid rain hyperhurricanes strong enough to shatter rock.
CFCs outgassed by the large igneous provinces, stripped the entire ozone layer and any remaining life was irradiated. Plant pollen from this time shows severe mutations. 99% of all vertebrates were a single species that happened to be extremely tolerant of all these conditions.
A more famous example is the Jurassic extinction. They currently think that the Chixculub impact shockwaves raced through the mantle and hit the (approximately) antipodal Deccan Traps. About a third of India turned inside out and vomited magma 1.5 miles deep over 200,000 square miles. Again, this was accompanied by poison gases, and CO2, with a similar result to the above.
Now imagine that happens on every continent all at once. There’d be literally no need for a flood at all.
That one thing would kill every form of life everywhere on the planet. An ark would be pathetically inadequate to save the passengers from heat, poisonous gas, and gamma radiation.

There was a paleological site dating from the breakup of Pangea near our farm. It preserved a few million annual layers of quiet shallow lake life, followed by a sudden burial of a bunch of organisms, in ash.
One of the interesting things about this group, is that there’s NO ONE SINGLE organism that dates, outside the geologic era.
There’s amphibians that date ONLY to this time, but are commonly seen in this particular layer. There’s bugs that aren’t seen either higher or lower in geology.
And there’s NEVER any modern lacustrine organisms like birds, salmanders, frogs, modern fish species, rabbits or rodents or any other mammals.
A massive catastrophe like Hovind describes, would not preserve either the gentle alternating layers of lake sediment, nor the fluffy layer of ash that ended the stratigraphic record there.

The problem with your theory and Walt Brown about the ice age is the Cenozoic strata has only modern animals no dinosaurs, and the fossilization is different (preservation asphalt bog caves, very little volcanic caused petrification) from the older Mesozoic strata. In the Mesozoic there are no large mammals mostly dinosaurs. And dinosaurs are never found with the large Cenozoic strata mammoths, etc. You mention Peleg. Notice that at the time of the flood Noah's descendants lost 1/3rd life span. Then at the time Peleg lost another 1/3rd life span. This shows there were two major worldwide cataclysms. The earth was divided 350 years after the flood. Henry Morris agrees with me about this. I quote him in my book Mysteries of History Revealed. There were TWO worldwide asteroid showers. The earth was divided at the time of Peleg, not Noah's flood to keep the people from coming back together after Babel. That was when the plates moved and the mountains were formed. Sincerely, Jeremy Auldaney

What about before the Jurassic? There’s very few dinosaurs in the Triassic. There’s no temnospondyls, rauisuchids, or conodonts after the Triassic.
What about the Permian extinction? There’s a sharp line where we lost all the sea scorpions, trilobites, goniatites, gorganopsids, and most of the theracephalids.
There’s similar very sharp lines further down. We lost tiktalik and the placoderms in the End-Devonian. The Great Oxidation Catastrophe ended so much biomass that it’s marked with alternating carboniferous and iron-bearing layers, and almost all our iron comes from these strata.
There’s a lot more to explain, than dinosaurs.

So, it was not a good thing. A curse is never good. Regardless of any clever teaching point one may derive from misunderstanding this meaning. After all, if it was such a good thing, then it would have been cursed from the beginning. No. It was wonderful beyond imagination, because it was created perfectly.

    I have a few questions:
    1. Why do these people get so defensive about the topic of science? Why not history? And try to give alternate explanations for historical narratives that don't match the bible? Or politics and demand that kings and slavery be brought back because that's how it was in biblical times? Or social norms aka "traditional family values" such as offering your daughters for every guy in town to "know" and still be considered "righteous". Or that the daughters later got him drunk up on a cave to impregnate themselves by him. Or getting tricked into marrying the ugly sister and still be allowed to marry the pretty one after working fie her dad for 7 years? He bought his wife? Well, second wife. Or have several wives and several hundreds of concubines like king Solomon? Or knock your wife's slave up, then when she gets knocked up, send your first born son and his mother out into the desert? Or Or Or....I'm not sure there is a dad and mom and 2.5 children and a dog and picket fence ANYWHERE in the bible! What about math? I never hear anyone getting upset or defensive or doing intellectual acrobatics fit their creation myths into other scholarly topics?
    2. Why not do this same thing for other creation myths, such as hindu or Native American myths? Or Celtic? Nordic? Why just this one? Ah, because it is the one YOU happen to believe because it is the one that YOU happened to be born into. Because YOUR ancestors were conqured and forced to give up their original beliefs by the Romans, who needed a religion to scare people into obedience, so they happened to pick a variation of an obscure tribal belief system that they liked because it had one "god" (besides baal and those other ones who aren't supposed to be put before the main god) so they wouldn't have to split their tributes between the government and 20 gods, just the government and ONE god.
Hmm. Do you people ever actually think or just follow?

Yes, the Christian Nationalists/Dominionists very much want to bring back the Bronze Age. They would reserve to themselves the benefits of modernity, while slowly throttling back progress for every other person. How such a brilliant man can say Jesus will forgive you? Is he going to die everyday for our sins? He had done it 2000 years ago. For all our sins. Already. If you boast that your sins are greater than His sacrifice, you are insulting Jesus. Humans are in sin without knowing that they are delivered from it. We need to tell them their sins are forgiven. When they realize that they are freed already they will praise the Lord and never sin again. So first you accept the savior who saved you whether you repent or not. You are already forgiven. Jesus never asked anyone to repent for their sins. But He told us to return to His ways. When you are doing his will his kingdom work where do you. Have time to even think of signing?
