#airdryclay, #siliconemoulds, #cardmaking,
Anne another great video! i just want to mention that in the past I have put my molded clay in the freezer when it was to soft.. Maybe 15 mins and it will come out easy. Try putting it in the freezer before you give up on it.
Ann, you’re just a GREAT all around crafter! I love that you try different things other than paper crafting & in turn inspires us all! Thank you
Thank you Connie. Yes I love trying all things and I think we all need a change xx
They are beautiful to make embellishments I've never used clay and moulds but looks really easy and something to keep you busy xxx
It's great hun. I love seeing the little details in them xxx

I have moulds and yes! like you I put them away. Why ... YES!! the Clay!!
I must order some of that Clay, get my moulds out again and have a go.
I am quite excited to have a go.
Thank you for sharing. Stay Safe and keep on Crafting.
Patricia xxx💖
When the clay is right it's great fun!! Thsnk you xx
Thanks for your tutorial, what happens if you wait until it's dry before removing it from the mold?
Fabulous tutorial Ann, been wanting to make my own I will buy this clay now and have a go thanks again love them. Xx👍❤️
I love your honesty, I’m having the same problem. I’m unable to get the clay out of the mold. Thank you for recommending clay 14 😊

These are lovely Ann, thanks for the tutorial. Sounds like Daisy is more herself 💕
Yes she I'd getting back to her old self. Just the appetite but shes getting there xx
Awesome Ann. I have a silicone mold that makes a tiny baby. I could never get it out of the mold without messing it up. Now I know it was just the wrong clay. Thanks SO VERY MUCH Ann.
Your very welcome Karla xxx
They look marvelous Ann ! Not something I thought of trying, but am wanting to do it now ! You are multi-talented and always find a way to do things. I look forward to your videos very much, thankyou for sharing with everyone. Sending hugs. xx
Thank you so much Jean. That is lovely to hear and it's what keeps me going....honestly xxx
If you leave the DaS over night it dries well, and pops out of the mould. Maybe a before you go to bed project?
Hi Ann, so glad you are keeping well and safe hope all your family are to 👍♥️ lovely to hear Daisy playing that is sweet music to my ears because just like you I am a dog lover to my little Daisy is 10 months old now ...........Thank you so much for posting a really fab and very helpful crafty tutorial i will definitely be going to the link and buying some clay and trying to get some molds keep well keep safe love Lin 👍♥️🦋🐕🌟🌟
Lovely yo hear from you Linda. I was worried you had gone off me lol. Hope your well and safe xxx
@@PositivelyPapercraft Hi Ann, That is definitely one thing that would absolutely never happen no way I absolutely love everything about you and your stunning crafty tutorials 👍😀 .....but at the mo due to family circumstances it isn't always possible for me to log on and watch your jaw-dropping absolutely stunning crafty tutorials so I log on when I can Please stay well stay safe love Lin ♥️🦋🐕🌟👍😀 P.S What stunning Christmas cards are you going to make this year ☃️
Thank you for the comparison. A clay knife will help you get an even back for the molded clay. You put the clay in and use the knife to even out the back- very fast.
Thank you
Love these I like to make my own embellishments if I can.I'll give anything a try. Thanks for the tip about the clay. Lovely embellishments xx Thanks for sharing, take care and Stay Safe xx
I did some paper clay figures years ago. I've ordered some more clay to do some more that I want to colour. I've always used DAS clay and I've found it fine
Really pretty the molds look like my cake decorating gumpaste molds. I’ll have to give it a try. Looks really cool. Xoxo Denise
Yes Denise they will be the same thing. Hope you try it xx
Push it on something it’ll stick to on the back, instead of trying to pull the clay out. Works perfectly
thanks Ann for the good tips and tricks, i was the same as you, have given it a go but no success xx
I love the angels 🥰! I've already made silicons formes and i used a clay knife or a card to take out the excess. And then i use a little water to wet my fingers and to work easier with the clay to make a smooth area (at the end). There are better like this 😁. But just see if it works with any clay. Thank you! 😘
Can you not leave the clay to set a little more or fully so its easier to get out the mould .....or is it impossible to remove when it's hard 🤔
Great minds thinks alike i waiting for my moulds to come cant wait i glad you did video as i would have waited for it to dry before taken it out the mould x
Have fun xx
Such a brilliant video, thank you so much.
I'm watching your tutorial for 1st time today. Very pleasant instruction. I want to recreate embellishments on a vintage French Provincial dresser I'm refinishing. It's a design that's the length of the drawer. Not sure how to achieve this. Lastly I wanted to comment on your lovely thumb ring that looks handcrafted. Please tell me where I can find similar design
Wonderful video with so many informations....but how about the gaps???always at any type of clay i have gaps when i try to stick to different ornaments so i am so disappointed.....but very happy for your video
It's gorgeous 😍 so happy that you shared what too use, so it gets perfect ❤ thanks for sharing your creativity Hugs xx
Thank you as always Joan xx
As the 14 craftbar clay is not available in Australia, Iand shipping costs from Europe make it way too expensive, I have needed to try and find a way to use the light weight clays that are like chewing gum in my molds. Having decorated cakes in the past, like you my first thought was cornflour or talc, neither of which worked. Then I remembered that liquid soap is used as a release in ceramics and clay pouring. I didnt have any liquid soap but I did have some liquid laundry detergent and that worked. I've also seen a lady using hand cream but because I want to paint mine, anything with oil in it is out of the question. I imaginne washing up liquid would also work. To release the piece which was quite big, i turned it face down and lifted up and bent the mold back as the piece released. The only issue is if you need to reform the piece,
If you need to redo the piece the soap makes the clay a bit lumpy and I had to kneed it well to get it to stick together again. I also used a bit too much degergent the first time. You only need a little,, applied with a soft paint brush.
Air dry clay has to be conditioned before using, it takes practice.... It needs to be kneaded and pulled, then left until it has dried out a good bit. I flatten it into a sheet and leave it for twenty minutes. I dust my moulds with a little talcum powder. Press the clay into the mould, neaten the back, and it will drop the shape out when you flex the mould. Clay should never be left in a mould, all that happens is the moisture sinks to the bottom, gets trapped and therefore sticks.... It won't dry.
Just use plaster of paris, or caulking. Or modeling paste.
Hi, have you tried loosening the clay around the edges? I always push the edges inwards slightly towards the middle, so that all of the clay is away from the sides before I flex the mould, and it usually pops out easily, and that way there’s no trimming involved around the edges of the finished product. I have never used Hobby Craft’s Clay before though, so it may well be that it is just that type of clay that’s causing the problem, but I thought this method might help with it. xx
The recipe is probably from Creative Cat.
But you can use plaster of paris, caulking, modeling paste, stone clay, even a glue gun.
Das clay works fine too.
And patience. 😅 (Which I don't have)
Place in freezer while in mold, pull out when solid should pop out easy
Try spraying the mould with silicone spray, or buy mould releasing agent
Hi Ann, thanks for the video and tips, I’ve had moulds and M.Stewart clay for years never been opened!! ( what’s new eh! ) clays is probably dry now, after seeing your video I must get it out and have a go, thanks for the reminder, take care.
Regards.
Tgank you. Hope you manage to have a go xx
HI, great video but you said the name of clay to fast, what clay did you use, the name and where did you get it? I am looking for soft and pliable as my hands can't manipulate a hard clay. I use it for molding free hand and silicone molds. Thank you
Have you tried powder? It helps mine keep from sticking.
You may have better luck if you put your mold in the freezer for 30 minutes before trying to take it out of the mold.❤❤❤❤
Hello! Can you tell me the name of the clay? The link show me an error. Thank you!
Have you tried letting the clay dry in the molds for a few hours before removing them? I had the same problem but haven't tried letting it dry on its own yet. I use fondant cutters and some don't work well with the air dry clay either. I have to use corn starch. But in letting them dry, they are still kind of flexible
Could letting it dry in the mold make it easier to remove? I make molds with silicone caulk.
Thank you Ann, I feel a bit of a wally, when I tried this I left the clay in the moulds to dry overnight without success I might add 🤦🏼♀️😂
You wont be the only one I bet lol
Thank you for the tutorial Ann. I was wondering.....can the clay be coloured with some sort of dye? Also are they robust enough to send on cards or to put on journals? Was thinking of having a go at making book plates for journal covers.
Yes they can be coloured in with most things and I put them on my cards. Love them 😍
I don't see the link for the "lady's Clay". I know this has been years, but does anyone know? I have the same issue with my moulds. I have even tried hot glue and its just a mess.
how long to you let the clay set in the tray before removing it
Ann, would you happen to have the link for the lady that makes the homemade clay? Something I'd like to try to add embellishments to projects. Love this video. Love Daisy too! OOPS & you as well my dear. Be safe & TYFS
Yes so sorry I forgot to put the link. Will do it now. Hope I can find it xx
Ann was probably referring to this recipe.

@@PoojaAnand Thank you so much for this. Will take a look. The recipe is easy enough & love the fact that is has a pretty good shelf life. Again thank you Pooja! Be safe
@@clairegagne6906 I am glad I was able to help. I noticed that you'd asked the question about a year ago. Just want you to know that she has a few other clay recopies too just in case you don't like this one. Crafty hugs. 😊
Can you buy this on Amazon?
Could you leave the Hobbycraft clay to dry in the mould before popping it out?
Yes I am going to try it. Will let you no if it works
Is it possible to let the clay dry 8n the mold? Or does it stick too bad?
I will try it
@@PositivelyPapercraft That would be great! Thanks!
Just let it dry in the mold, then pop it out...
