I have watched this so many times I have lost count. It is the most beautiful piece of music I have ever heard . And as for you Anna .... words cannot describe the absolute passion with which have interpreted it. Your face symolises the depth of pure emotion that this music evokes. Utterly memorizing.
Wow, felt compelled to comment - even though I initially put this video on, intending to meditate, simply had to interrupt...I was just awestruck and couldn't stop watching, listening, and marvelling. Anne A. M. is such a beautiful and elegant performer, and this was breathtaking.
I love and truly admire Classical Music, Since I was a young man.I find, there are many works in the History, but there are those Gems, that makes the world stop and you close your eyes .Let the music go right through your body. Languidly walks through your head, brain, lungs, heart, legs. When that happens I feel very bless to all those who made it very possible.Anne and Company.Morten,Akira, and the Creator. Thank You.
I recently listened to this with orchestral accompaniment. I much prefer this version with piano. Much cleaner and less muddled. Absolutely beautiful, Anne.
I already like the original chorale version on this and this interpretation by Ms Meyers and Mr Eguchi encourages a celebration of this "mystery" that is more personal rather than a grand one -- more befitting to the simplicity of the nativity story. Section starting 3:24 is just *chef's kiss*. Thank you for sharing your music.
Il silenzio che trasmetti mi procura inquietitudine ma io l'ho accolto nel mio cuore come un segno di affetto . Perché tu sai che ti voglio bene ! Complimenti per la bella musica !
Thank you for such a beautiful performance. You have honed your craft and blessed us with beautiful music. This piece and Spiegel Im Spiegel are my favorite pieces that you have performed. I need them today because Im processing a rough patch at the moment. The sounds hits me right where I am at. Continue on in the amazing talent that only you can share. All the best to you and your family.
Meus instrumentos preferidos,Violino e Piano. Uma execução primorosa de alta performance deste duo, tocando uma música comovente, com muita sensibilidade.
This is absolutely beutiful. The violinist is creating music above notes and pianist is magnificent too. I wonder if Akiko is playing the Vieuxtemps Guarneri del Iesu. It seems to me she does.

An interesting experiment. I'm not sure how close they got to the composer's musical vision of interweaving polyphonic textures and poignant dissonant intervals in adjacent melodic lines. But an undeniably passionate and committed performance, with the superb musicianship and artistry one has come to take for granted with this performer.
I understand where you're coming from. As a violinist who can play this arrangement, I'd prefer the climax chord series a bit more connected, but it can be hard to play that double forte sound in double stops maintaining such an articulation. I do appreciate the use of octaves in the arrangement. I mostly just happy that somebody took the time to arrange this wonderful piece for violin and piano. I'm not sure if this is Lauridsen's own arrangement or someone else's.
Before watching I was sceptical how you could turn a choral work that’s all about harmony into a solo performance + piano, and having watched can say it just doesn’t compare which is nothing to do with the performer and all about the arrangement.
Incredibly beautiful! Thank you Anne Akiko Meyers! ❤️
The most sensitive, emotional melodic line ever written . . . I cannot listen to this piece without tears
One of my absolute favorite pieces, played by my favorite violinist. I am in tears.
Again and again. Calls for careful doses, though I’m sure it will never tire and I’m sure I’m gonna see her live soon, perhaps here in Amsterdam NL?
Thank you thank you thank you! Such exquisite joy! I am unashamedly moved to tears🙏
Mrs Akiko and Mr Akira, thank you for this marvelous gift. Antonella e Giuseppe Brighenti Vertemati.
Incredibly beautiful and deeply moving❤️
The opening notes on the piano... what grace! And an absolutely beautiful touch. Excellent performance. Thank you for sharing your talent with us.
I heard you play this piece in person this afternoon and I had tears in my eyes! I imagine heaven listening to you play! Thank you!!
Lucky you
Wow you are so blessed! I don't think I'd be able to leave me seat for tears! Choir is something but this is majestic!

Same here. That dialogue she has in her face with the music, the theme that Lauridson presents. I’ve never seen that before. Like a prayer.
Lovely words, you'll never tire of it, enjoy for ever.
Probably not as many times as I have.😂
What I imagine it might be like to come out of deep emotional pain, expressed in music. Thank you.
Heavenly--is this on cd I hope.
Gorgeous.
When words aren’t sufficient.
❤Happy Easter.
Buona Pasqua
One of the most beautiful pieces of music and a deeply moving performance by pianist and violinist. Just thank you.

I think I've watched this like 5x every day for the last year. PERFECTION

Hard to repeat by anyone-stunning.Greets from Poland Anne.
Wow! This is the most magnificent interpretation ever!
Giovanni Ruiz: Lauridsen did this arrangement for her himself after hearing her incredible musicianship.
The most beautiful ever!!!
I recently listened to this with orchestral accompaniment. I much prefer this version with piano. Much cleaner and less muddled. Absolutely beautiful, Anne.
Richard Duffy . I’m thinking the same.
And to get to Sing this is also wonderful. Thank you Anne and Akira. Lovely hearing the piano and violin singing together.
I freaking love her
Magnificent...soulful...
