They have one because if these elevators served ALL 47 floors, it would be a nightmare to stop at everyone. These have express while some others serve ALL floors..

If you get to Los Angeles, check out the similar elevators @ Westin Bonaventure. 36 floors - 4 banks of 3 cars each - above atrium, cars are outside bldg. Brass plaques in lobby show specific movies filmed in the elevators. I need to get to Atlanta to see these!

i have checked it out that elevator in 2014, and i also watched a video of that elevator in 2016 and it was modified
Yeah, I am furious about the modernization! The mod itself looks good and would be welcoming in any new place but the classic uniqueness of this place (except for the atrium) was taken away last year. The voice was one of a kind and now it is nothing special and nobody got any of the COPs!
Wow, I really hope to check this place out soon.
Elevonic 411 from the 1990s, still using the same shunt wound DC motors and chopper control as the 401
Yep. They are modded now.

These were 401 with 219HT machines, they are now Elevonic R with the same machines unchanged
I rode on those elevators just 2 weeks ago when I went to the World of Coke there. Those elevators were very busy when I went.
The elevator's pretty fancy too. Nice video.

The indicator has issues because it skips 2 floors ahead. I'm not sure why it does that, (I've never been there). I've seen the elevators by Jimlelevators, ems318, and, Musicfreakk and you.

Have you been to the Westin Bonaventure in Los Angeles? I'd have to think THOSE are probably the most over-photographed/recorded elevators ever... but they sure are cool! They WERE touch at one time. (The service cars still are.)

@moose9784 P.S. There's mood lighting at the top and bottom of each panoramic cabin, and those elevators travel up and down a monumental column that totally dominates the atrium.Trust me. Those elevators up there are INSANE!!!!!

I've stayed in this hotel before when I was four years old.
i got some g- force at the beginning when goin up .. i was scared lol .. but when i went down, i exhaled so i wouldn't feel anything
Otis is in the progress of modernizing these old things so no more series one instead they are getting new buttons new indicators and new cabs.

May I recommend the elevators at the other Marriott Marquis in Times Square? Those are rockets too! They travel at 1400 fpm! How do I know? Because I've gone for a joyride on them. Plus the destination entry is different...Miconic 10, the Schindler equivalent of Otis's Compass.
These are faster than the scenic elevators at The Westin Peachtree Plaza
Eventually the hotel manager managed to work out what I was talking about, and I was taken up in the lift to a bedroom.

2 Questions: How come at 0:34 there is a bigger floor than the others? and how come only guests can stay on floors 42-47?
The 10th floor is the observatory and I'm not sure why guests stay on the higher floors.

They are way nicer with their modernization. They break down a lot more though

@@DieselDucyI would have been okay if they would have changed the floor passing chime as they did the renovation. I wish the buttons were still original.

@DieselDucy did you hear that they are getting horribly modernized with series 7 fixtures? I watched a video the other day of the mods taking place and I saw the fixtures and they are as crap as Generic ones.
