8 years, not long enough to make the commitment of marriage but long enough to have a 5 year old child. The defendant needs to grow up and consider himself damn lucky to have his mother in his life. I know a lot of people who would give anything to have their parent with them and willing and able to be a grandparent to their grandchildren.

My mom NEVER babysat my kids. She would always tell me to figure it out and that it wasn’t her problem. And I’d only ask for emergencies like the time I needed to go to the emergency room because I had a 104 fever and wasn’t feeling good at all. I had to take my kids along with me because my mom didn’t want to. That guy is blessed to have a loving mother like that!!

I can never understand why people settle for playing house versus getting married.
You call tell by the defendant teeth that he don’t give a crap about their own child. Once she wants the money he owed. He’s bringing up everything as a reason and excuse to not pay back.
So far, I can see it. Mom breaks the rule, son and daughter-in-law respond by tightening her access to their child. Christmas comes around and they give another chance, making clear that they have plans the next day and the child MUST be returned by 1:00 at the VERY LATEST, period. Mom, not enjoying another rule to follow after being criticized about breaking one previously, makes a point of stopping for ice cream and getting him home JUST A LITTLE after the hard, absolutely-latest-possible deadline to make a point. Now they're late for the plans they had that day, and, yes, on the day before Christmas you're probably screwed if you don't make it to your plans on time and have to try to park at a busy mall. JuJu pretends not to understand any of this, even though she's a parent and knows how this went.
