- In this tutorial I will show you a mouth rig that allows you to break the plane of the head shape. Thanks to my friend Alexander Wilhelm for sharing his idea and developing it with me.
We want to share it with you.
Great little technique. Just a tip that I'm sure you know already- if you set your keyframe style to Linear in the drop-down above the timeline before jumping into all your Smart Bone set ups, you won't have to change all the keyframes to Linear manually!
We keep learning. Thank you. I'll never struggle with mouth and rigging, interpolation and animating mouth again.

Fantastic tutorial and effect.
One question though - how do you duplicate the effect to work on the other side?
Do you have to do it all manually, or is there a way to copy what we've done for the first side and then flip /paste it to the other side?
For any other beginners trying to follow this - or any other tutorial - use the 'notes' feature in MOHO, or make notes in a Windows Notepad file as you follow along.

TROY YOU NEVER STOP AMAZING ME I ENJOYED THE VIDEO BUT WHEN I TRIED MY, I HAD A DIFFERENT RESULT. MY BACK THROAT DID NOT MASK THE MOUTH WHEN I DID THE ACTIONS IN BONE. WHAT WAS THE OPTION IN THE LAYER MASKING DID YOU SELECT FOR THE BACK THROAT THANKS FOR SHEARING THE TECHNIQUE

i always get only 10-12 fps on my animations😑it would be much better if there was a real-time rendering with lower quality

Works great BUT trouble with shading. Trying to apply shading by going to effects, select shaded but it´s not working. Because of all the masking? What am I missing?

is there a way to do this with a stroke? when I try it, the stroke goes over the open part of the mouth.
I think this thread is referring to how the open mouth part doesn't have a stroke, which I circumvented by using the Outline (Animated) layer setting found by double clicking the layer group. You'll have to edit the rest of it so it doesn't make a massive outline on the rest of the shape, but it gives you that 'stroke' you otherwise can't achieve. It doesn't show when it's facing forward, but I don't think it's possible to do that.
The way to animate speaking is how it sounds.

jaap berends Thanks, Not sure I’m understanding your question. Some tools are only available when on the appropriate layer.
Troy Picou I mean under the hand the manifier rotation tool. Under there it says other. I can’t find how to get that on my machine. I googled it also....

Hello, I am facing a problem in moho 12. Would you help me please? the problem is " I have created a cartoon figure but when I press "Ctrl+R'' then it shows a sky color shape figure but no details figure that means it renders a sky color shape figure but no details figure. How can I solve this problem...? Help me please.

Kasia Krzemowa not trying to be mean but if you did exactly what I did you should get the same result. I recommend trying it from the start again.
