Background 2 is such a powerful piece of music. The first time i played this i was scavenging some random small island for wood and i sea anchored my raft thinking it would be okay i came back with a full inventory only to see my raft drifting into the horizon with this song playing ive never had a video game make me feel so desperate and alone the music brought a single tear to my eye
It’s really my favourite from the whole game. The cello at the start really reminds me of wandering through the mojave wasteland in Fallout New Vegas but as soon as the oboe comes in it completely changes the atmosphere. This is just my take on it but the cello line is very somber and makes you feel the gravity of the situation you’re in (being stuck on a desert island in the middle of goodness knows where) but as soon as the oboe starts it gives a childish feel like you are suddenly feeling alone and like a lost little one. There are moments of hope in the music that inspire you into believing that things will be ok but then the cello keeps coming back to remind you that your chances of survival are slim. The music ends with a final sigh as the sun sets that feels like ‘tomorrow might be a better day’. But idk maybe it’s just me lol

Background 3 and 5 for me. If i ever will be stranded on an desert island i will have these songs in my head. This is the most underrated game ever. I've never seen such a realistic sea like this. Amazing experience.❤️🏝️

I only found out that the music meant a shark was nearby was when my friend told me. Thinking of me now, swimming in the water killing fish reminds me there was a bloody shark with me the whole time and I didn't know.
17:10 I heard this when I was about to die for the first time while playing and I was panicking as it kept getting louder and louder and sounding more and more rushed like I was actively dying when I was supposed to be healing, I was just listening and was asking myself in a panic “Am I about to die?” Before the music stopped a few minutes later
I came across Lusca twice after screwing around, exploring all islands, farming, settling in the island me and my gf build. Surviving all those hours, months and months of playing of collecting resources. We decided to finish the game. It was easy finding megaladon, eel but it was hard to find lusca. I swear we even retraced our from every island we came from with no luck just using the custom raft we build with an engine plus hours and hours and hours of making fuel. Luckily we had a chopper but even with a chopper it was so tough trying to look for that fucking squid. After 2 weeks we decided to give up until one day I came across by him by accident lol I swear when your looking you can’t find it but you unexpectedly just find things when your not trying. Memories with this game honestly prefer it a lot more than the forest and green hell. And both of those games are wonderful too. Experience this game on ps4 console it was sluggish and laggy at times. Lots of bugs and glitches. Even saving was risky when the game crashes after lots of work put it in lol
To be completely honest, I wished the game jut ended when the the plane went to the black screen, you don't die, its not sad, you survived, the whole loop thing is cool I guess but all that effort for nothing.
