Random anecdote about Carnival Kerfuffle, it's sorta become a meme in my DnD group. The DM used it as battle music in her first game, and as soon as it came on, somehow literally everything went wrong and devolved into chaos, like it infected the party's brain and made us make incredibly stupid decisions. This happens almost every time the song is used in combat, to the point where we consider it a cursed track, and groan any time someone plays it. We even threaten to play it in games, and it cracks me up every time. This song just has a special place in my heart.
This video has infinitely better quality then a majority of ranking channels. And this channel has less then 1000 subscribers. You definitely earned a subscription.

His term of “Freakin Jammin Bro” refers to all the songs after including non swing, so I’m not sure if that’s what he means. Maybe I’m looking at the wrong thing tho.
The Inkwell Hell theme is actually very soothing, dark and calm tone too it.When I was listening to the entire Cuphead soundtrack and came across the tune,I just couldn’t help but overplay it and hum along too it forEVER!
Dang. Can't believe that Railroad Wrath was put so low. It's a pretty cool song. The way they mimicked the train horn with the trumpets and the chugging of the train with the drums is also really cool.
I checked botanic panic and threatnin zeppelin and I am not sure if those are xylophones or vibraphones. They sound staccato so I’m inclined to say xylophone, but who knows, maybe the vibraphone had the pedal up.
HI !!! the weird instrument at 28:48 is a brazilian instrument called "cuíca"! The Floral Flury is very inspired by the brazilian rythm! 😚 and yeah it sounds very weird lol;; its kind of a drum, "with a wooden rod attached to the center of the leather membrane, from the inner side. The sound is obtained by rubbing the stem with a piece of wet fabric and pressing the outside of the cuíca with a finger, producing a characteristic snoring sound."
28:45 that weird instrument in the Floral Fury theme is called: "Cuíca", and it's from Brazil, so does the music kind, and it uses kind of is just a large barrel with a straw stuck into the center of it. Oh, and the music's kind is called: "Samba"!
The 'xylophones' with the more ringing sound (as in Threatenin' Zeppelin) are vibraphones (made of metal rather than wood being a big difference between them). The ones that 'sound like skeletons' (as in the Chalice theme) are actual xylophones. Both tracks I mentioned just then, right up at the top for me. But yes, the floral samba is still the tippy-top.
So this popped up on my recommendations and I was dreading that it was going to be a contrarian video that would have said something along the lines of "Floral Fury isn't that good you guys, this other song is way better." You ranked Floral Fury at first place. You deserve all the love.
Sorry but literally everyone thinks Floral Fury is the best lol, I barely see anyone who dislikes Floral Fury. My favorite songs out of the main game is Carnival Kerfuffle, Admission to perdition, One Hell of a Time. Honorable mentions go to Murine Corps, Junkyard Jive, and every single King Dice song.
I personally love Sugarland Shimmy, Clipjoint Calamity, and Funfair Fever as my top three. It used to be Fiery Frolic, Aviary Action, and Floral Fury but they got bumped down into 4th 5th and 6th just because I decided to give other songs from the soundtrack a try.
Personally my favorite song in the game is Sugarland Shimmy, followed VERY closely by Murine Corps, Aviary Action, Botanic Panic and then Floral Fury, but I will admit Floral Fury is most likely the *objective* best song in the game. Also fun fact, King Dice's singing was done by a woman, Alana Bridgewater! She's got a surprisingly great voice for doing the baritone-tenor range for the songs!
I honestly do like this list, also that dead dog skit hit me hard. I think I may have cried. But great job. Also the dancing is good, and honestly, I do wish Railroad Wrath was higher, but I respect your opinion. I really like Railroad Wrath cause it actually sounds like a train, with the trombone as the horn and the drums imitating the Chugga Chugga of the wheels.
My three favorites (as of right now) are Clip Joint Calamity, Carnival Kerfuffle, and the Inkwell Isles 1 theme. The last two especially fill me with this crazy manic feeling.
_Dramatic Fanatic_ has a really good electroswing remix by Peggy Suave. Gooseworx's has the best remix for _Floral Fury._ Granted, she pretty much just added some bells and literal whistles along with some new world monkey calls.
Ok but the music is so important!!! I'm a female and therefore Not a Gamer(TM), so these tracks along with the progress card at the end helped carry me through the bosses and platforming levels while I was dying over and over until I finally got good at the game. And whoever came up with the idea to play different versions of the song every single time, JUST to add some variety to the experience you'd have to go through multiple times in a row, is an absolute Saint! I don't think I'd even complain if they just used the same tracks over and over again, but this team went the extra mile on every single aspect of this game as a labor of love. Make no mistake, Cuphead would NOT have succeeded if the tracks were annoying or subpar.
My word, your channel is criminally underrated! All of your points stand strong and the fact your subscriber count isnt in the 10 thousands is bizarre. If you like Cuphead's music, and want more, then here's a tidbit, there are unique solos for almost every song, depending on where you hear it. Let's use Floral Fury for example. In the Soundtrack version, the one you'd find on youtube and spotify, the first solo you hear is a piano, then a trumpet. In the version that plays in the acual game, both solos are muted trombones. And in a vinyl record called Selected Tunes, the first solo is a saxophone, followed up by an vibraphone. They are all worth checking out! As for my opinions on your rankings, I love Threatnin Zepplin, Junkyard Jive, and Railroad Wrath. Floral Fury is kinda over rated, but I still enjoy it. I do not get the hype about Funfair Fever. And my least favorite track is probably Coin Op-Bop. Too long and very repetitive. Again, you did a stupendous job ranking all the magnificent songs from the 2017 magnum opus! I look forward to see you in your next outing!
My top 10 would be 10:junkyard jive 9: Clip joint calamity 8:Inkwell isle 3 7:Botanic panic 6: die house 5:Roose of an ooze 4: Sugarland shimmy 3: Floral fury 2: Murin corps 1: High sea hi-jinx(no, i am not a simp, the song actually rocks)
Murine corps and the boss itself are usually overlooked as an easy boss and not too memorable of a music track, so it's nice to see that the song got 4th place. And floral fury is really good but it's too overrated in my opinion.
When people say something is overrated it makes me cringe because saying something is overrated is just like saying a movie is overrated first of its an opinion and i respect yours but saying a song is overrated is like saying “that song is trash and yall are trash for listening to it” because you don’t know why those people like that song BUT if the song was actually trash like a 4 year ild stomping on the floor i can understand if you can call it overrated if everyone loves it.
This was hilarious to watch, big props to you sir! The list was good too, though we definitely disagree on Railroad Wrath being so darn low which I do not understand at all. 👍
I really really like Pyramid Peril's chorus part because i just think it sounds so crazy. The time signature changes to 3/4 and i swear the bpm goes up a bit, and the instruments just play that melody so fast that bars cut off before they're finished. The rest of the song is also just very cool, i like the dissonance in the piano because it some how works really well.
Holy shit what a really good video. I thought it was just going to be one of those boring rankings but this was really good. Great video man! Thanks for all of the laughs it gave me. Will check out some more of your content since it seems amazing! 26:03 I love this part so much
There were a lot of song placements on here that I disagreed with strongly (my favorite song [yes, even over Floral Fury] is Honeycomb Herald, and yes I know I'll be flayed alive for that), but your presentation was awesome and engaging, my dude. I'm glad everyone agrees that Cuphead has some Fucking Bangers.
Junkyard Jive is the one that most represents aerial combat. The 5 descending notes just feel like a fighter plane rolling into a dive go on the attack.
It's so fun to see someone who doesn't have the vocabulary of a jazz musician talk about jazz so passionately, it's almost more genuine that way. Great video!
Besides the unique godlike visuals and s/p ranking and shit for me the music was one of the first things i noticed. When I played the root pack I was like wait is this fucking jazz? And yes. It was. I am a jazz player and listening to the music while playing the most fun and addictive gameplay of all time for me at least it was truly an experience that I have never felt up to that point and haven’t felt ever again, cuphead is an easy 100/10.
Thank you so much for persuading me to give the OST playlist for Cuphead a listen I honestly never payed much attention to most of the music (aside from Floral Fury and Die House, of course) while I played, but by GOD is it GOOD I'll be honest, I noticed a lot more little details within the tracks that you don't normally catch while trying to fight a boss, or figure out what Run N' Gun level to play next Like the little- almost marching band-esque percussions in the background of the Inkwell Isle 1 theme, or the whole trumpet (trombone?) segment near the end of Botanic Panic that I don't remember having ever heard before (I guess most folks probably beat the boss too fast to hear that bit normally) True bangers, every last one of 'em
The only time he was correct about it being a xylophone is in the song “legendary ghost” because i have played that song and xylophone is really good at making a bone kind of sound
Sugarland Shimmy is probably a tie for #1 for me (w/ Floral Fury, of course). Great intro with the drums that moves into the bebop sax and horns before it just turns into a bar room brawl that escalates perfectly with the fight it accompanies.
The weird instrument in Floral Fury is a cuica and in fact I am playing it for my school's jazz band in "Soul Bossa Nova". Also, the "xylophone" part in Botanic Panic is actually a vibraphone.
I like listening to the songs that the games have cause I feel like it adds a extra layer of depth to the game as the song changes cause you low on health or full of health cause it makes everything so much better I also know how you feel about the judging part with the music but then I said screw that they can’t judge me for what I like and now I just be jamming to any music I like no matter where I am also 1st time viewer here and I got to say love the channel so far can’t wait to see more
Not trying to sound mean But this is an underrated channel. I really thought this channel would have 100k subscribers and like 50k likes on every video
I love this list man, and your style of humor is well done! And hey, the Delicious Last Course is out, would love to see a "part two" as it were covering those songs. Doesn't necessarily have to be in relation to these, but however you wanna do it. High Noon Hoopla is a particular high point for me personally.
Idk why I felt Botanic Panic wasn't worth ranking so high up... maybe cuz it's one of the first bosses and because of that I felt it was too basic of a pick? But then I heard it in the video and I thought "no. I can't help but love this song. First boss or not, it's fantastic." Also I heard it in the episode of The Cuphead Show featuring the Root Pack and that just cemented the fact I love it.
hey man, idk if you’ll ever see this but if you do, i’d love to see this video for the dlc!! i loved this video and i watch it all the time, so i’d love one for the dlc too, because those tracks are incredible as well.

1. Your very underrated, this is very high quality. Hopefully the youtube algorithm shall bless you one day 2. I would change a lot of the rankings, mostly the run and gun songs especially Forest Follies since I feel there's a form of nostalgia to it.

Like the little- almost marching band-esque percussions in the background of the Inkwell Isle 1 theme, or the whole trumpet (trombone?) segment near the end of Botanic Panic that I don't remember having ever heard before (I guess most folks probably beat the boss too fast to hear that bit normally)
True bangers, every last one of 'em
As a vibraphonist, I'm deeply disappointed that you kept referring to the vibraphone as a xylophone.
The only time he was correct about it being a xylophone is in the song “legendary ghost” because i have played that song and xylophone is really good at making a bone kind of sound
Every time he said it, my heart was hurt a little
Seeing this after 2 years I still remember #1
Sugarland Shimmy is probably a tie for #1 for me (w/ Floral Fury, of course). Great intro with the drums that moves into the bebop sax and horns before it just turns into a bar room brawl that escalates perfectly with the fight it accompanies.
The weird instrument in Floral Fury is a cuica and in fact I am playing it for my school's jazz band in "Soul Bossa Nova". Also, the "xylophone" part in Botanic Panic is actually a vibraphone.
I like listening to the songs that the games have cause I feel like it adds a extra layer of depth to the game as the song changes cause you low on health or full of health cause it makes everything so much better I also know how you feel about the judging part with the music but then I said screw that they can’t judge me for what I like and now I just be jamming to any music I like no matter where I am also 1st time viewer here and I got to say love the channel so far can’t wait to see more
I agree with your ranking but there is one thing that hurts me a little...
WHY SHOOTIN 'N' LOOTIN IS SO LOW ON THE LIST?! ITS A GREAT SONG!
OH MY GOD JUST SHUT UP
@@tibby4503 a bit late but ok
Unpopular opinion: Floral Fury is not the best song in the game
Great job on this! I personally would have ranked the run n gun songs higher on the list, but other then that I agree with this list.
Not trying to sound mean
But this is an underrated channel. I really thought this channel would have 100k subscribers and like 50k likes on every video
Not rude at all! That’s really nice of you!
@@Buby39 glad it's not-
Honestly great to see Murine Corps so high on the list! Its probably my favorite song in Cuphead and I never see anyone talk about it
Coin-op bop is actually the track intended for the space invader run & gun you were talking about!
This channel is underrated AF.
Finally a good video, better quality than any other i've seen. I was looking for this and I did enjoy it. Amazing job my guy
Now that the DLC is out it would be really cool with a video on that soundtrack! :)
Honestly, your channel has better production quality than most million sub youtubers, so im surprised you're sitting at less than 5k. I feel like youtube pulls favorites.
I forgot what Aviary Action was called and just called it "The Bird Anthem."
Besides your voice overpowering most of the music good vid
I just know the one percussionist in that whole studio was sweating after Floral Fury
Your energy is so infectious you had me dancing by the end of this video lmao !
Oh man, finally someone who sees the Cuphead soundtrack for its amazing splendor like I do. I listen to it on the regular. It's just so good.
Yooo this video has so much effort out into it! You deserve way more attention :)
22:03 This song reminds me of Minnie the Moocher by Cab Calloway, which is funny because King Dice kinda reminds me of Cab Calloway.
Well he’s supposed to be a reference to Cab Calloway, so you’re probably right
Bro, why doesnt this have more views? Ill be here when this eventually blows up.
Great video, my favourite would probably be junkyard jive, the melody is just so good.
In my humble opinion:
1. Carnival Kerfuffle
2. The King’s Court
3. Botanic Panic
You should rank and review the Soundtrack in the new Cuphead DLC, it would be dope to see how you rank the new songs among the original ones!
I watched this video a couple of days ago and I know it is already one of my favorites, keep up the great work you'll blow up some day.
1. Your very underrated, this is very high quality. Hopefully the youtube algorithm shall bless you one day
2. I would change a lot of the rankings, mostly the run and gun songs especially Forest Follies since I feel there's a form of nostalgia to it.
I'm just a constant cuphead player and then I start to notice the music and it's amazing, I love this ranking video, thank you.
floral fury is indeed, the best
My top ten (also a bari sax player in my school’s jazz band)
10-Threatenin’ Zeppelin
9-Sugarland Shimmy
8-Inkwell Isle 2
7-Inkwell Isle 1
6-Carnival Kerfuffle
5-Floral Fury
4-Murine Corps
3-Elder Kettle
2-Botanic Panic
1-Aviary Action
Honorable Mention-Victory Tune
A really great list, glad I watched this, although I would rank karnival kerfuffle to share the first place with floral fury. I just love the tune of both songs.
Ok now if this was any other boring old ranking video with only their opinion and then next, I probably would have had skipped. But this. THIS. IS THE MOST ENTERTAINING RANKING VIDEO I HAVE EVER SEEN. You deserve a sub.
Loved the energy you got in this video. I want to dance to Floral Fury with you. 🦞
28:32 this instrument is called "cuíca" in BR portuguese, we can see it in genres like samba (used in flora flury) and bossa nova
The weird instrument is a brazilian cuica
My favorite Cuphead song atm is Closing credits. I don’t know why, but I smile evertime I hear the instrumentals at the beginning of the song.
*[You deserve way more subs!]*
Really strong list, Michael. Cuphead has some amazing tracks. Great job, guys.
