I own only one knife in D2 steel and I hate it. Will not buy D2 knife ever again. AUS8, I love it. It is a budget steel, not holding edge as some super steels, but I can make it razor sharp in no time. RAT1 in AUS8 steel - my favorite knife.
@@ulary I'm guessing it's that trashy overseas D2 I have a Steel Will Intrigue with a Chinese D2 & it's terrible so is the D2 from OKC RAT1 but the D2 from an old Buck knife I have is f****** awesome it rivals S30V.
I bought a RAT 1 as a gift for my uncle. I played around with it before I got a chance to give it to him - about one week. Am I the only one that has trouble flicking it open? I push the thumb stud up like I normally do for all my other thumb studded knives and it's like hitting a brick wall. It does not move. It does not open. I have to contort my thumb weird to open it, and it opens up slowly to where I have to manually finish opening it. Other than that, I love the knife. My trouble in opening it would not keep me from purchasing one for myself. I'm sure if I did, over time I would get the hang of it.
I'd rather have 10 knives at 30 bucks apiece stashed all over the place than one 300 dollar knife. Some of the ridiculousness that's out there nowadays just leaves me speechless. Don't need a diamond encrusted gold spoon to eat ice cream, nor a bazillion dollar knife to cut cardboard, wire, or wood. Cheers.
You Americans are so spoilt when it comes to knives. In New Zealand I'd be paying $ 130 dollars nz =$100 U.S. for this knife through a nz supplier in Aus8 steel.☹
I’m so glad someone else gets it. The first time I flicked this knife open the feeling just sold me. Never looked back.

D2 g10 ball bearings.
Incredible.
Thank you for the review. Liked and subscribed.
I’m sold......
I have knives that cost me over $100 but I always end up carrying my OKC RAT1.
D-2 is a tough steel but it also take more effort trying to sharpen it
So🤷🏻♂️the knife is Boss
the cold steel Finn Wolf is pretty sweet, it’s also lighter -if you don’t care about AUS8
R1D2 is very nice, better fidget knife
$22.95!!😱👏🏻👍🏻
I used the crap out of mine. Got it on Amazon for $18. Can’t beat that.
Yours was probably a counterfeit.
Nice review.

Hello, no cutting test ??, so what is a knife for other than taking dust in the window or drawer?
Calm your pivots
I just grabbed ten of these for $7 each on clearance at walmart
No way! That’s amazing. I’ll have to check my local Walmart. Thx
Can I get one? LOL I’m in Canada
Probably knockoffs.
@@CadillacDriver No it’s the real deal. They quit carrying them. I grabbed one aswell.
Fuck walmart tho
