Love this play. In a few years (if not sooner) everybody will run their pick and rolls like this, with a screen for the screener. It'll just be the standard way to run pick and roll.
I feel like simply switching can easily stop this but most bigs in NBA can't move their feet. I can deal with long range 2s but either way your gonna get an open shot out of this a great pick and roll option especially with a playmaker like Harden
how is the 4 making the back screen? The way I see it the 4 makes a simple screen then rolls to the basket. Then the guard/shooter sets the back screen on the defending 5 preventing him to defend the opposing 4. Then the shoot runs to the 3 point line at which point you choose your poison.

The underrated part is ryan anderson standing so far back, his range is insane and limits the help defense from his man
so basically, in a 1-5 pnr, the 4 comes up to backscreen the defending 5 so the defending 5 can't move laterally with the 1?
the 3 or 4, yeah. It can also open up the 5 for a roll to the basket, or an open shot for one of the shooters. It's pretty lethal.
I rather have the 2 or 3 back screen cuz they leak to the three point line after and can shoot
