👉🏻Most commonly hyperpigmentation around lips is due to underlying inflammation. This is best addressed by seeing your dermatologist. You may need patch testing or prescription topical medications to properly treat any underlying condition.
✅In general when it comes to lip care and fading dark lips:
1. Avoid irritants such as products like carmax, fragranced lip cosmetics, spicy and citrus foods (contact dermatitis), I even recommend no lip scrubs (physical exfoliants)
2. Be mindful of chronic lip licking and aggressively wiping your mouth after eating (frictional irritation)
3. Focus on repairing skin barrier first: regular use of petrolatum or if you prefer thicker emollients like @aveneusa Cicalfate or
@larocheposayusa Cicaplast Baume.
4. Use gentle brightening ingredients. I really like fragrance-free brighten eye creams to slowly fade hyperpigmentation

5. Use Chemical Exfoliants, But With Caution. Start Off 1-2x Daily. I Recommend Lower Strength AHA Serums Like

For me , I used to have pegmentation around my lips before , I bought Carmex lip blam because I normally try out different lip blams. The Result was BAD , it made my lips so dark that people could see them from far away. I would recomened , Vasline at night and natural lip blams. BRO TRUST THIS LADYY. THANK U MISS

Loved this video, it was very insightful! Just have a question about using lip scrubs. I see there are some more gentle lip scrubs that have a higher ratio of butters (eg. Shea) than sugar/ exfoliants. In this case is a lip scrub completely out?
If your going in and out of sunny hot places. Do not Use Vaseline! Vaseline is good for hydrating and smoothing chapped lips but not for sun it can actually make it darker so use ank lip balm that has spf i recommend Aquqphor

I tried Carmex because my friends recommended it. My lips and around my lips were so dry because of braces, so I tried Carmex. I applied Carmex on my lips at first day and second day then there is some part around of my lips where still dry therefore I applied around of my lips as well then after a minute or an hour I guess, I look into the mirror and I LOOK TERRIBLE around my lips is so dark, and it is very noticeable. Maybe my skin is just sensitive, unlike the others. 😢

Friction can cause inflammation, and inflammation triggers hyperpigmentation.

@@ShivaShiva-rb1vcit is a VERY bad idea. I did one time and my lips had to heal for MONTHS lol. And it was not to lighten my lips but to exfoliate them and I did not let it sit for long( less than a minute). Anyways dr dray says to not exfoliate the lios because the skin is too thin. Go watch her short about that. There is nothing wrong with having a little bit of pigment on your lips anyways

hey....30% at home ...all alone is a big no!!! use in 5-7% of any 1 type of acid for a longer period of time .... won't give results in 1 night. have to be really patient

Okay but this omits just about every black person.bevause we narurally.have dark asf lips and i hate them. I want them to have more pink lips, you know, the color I expect them to be. It messes my whole look up and makes me look like a chainsmoker when I never smoked a day in my life. 😡

So, basically, do nothing for the lips, unless you can afford the high end products you listed.... I already use that face lotion, to reduce oily, shiny skin, and it doesn't work. That lotion costs like $37/bottle. I found I can add fave lotion with corn starch, and it works even better.
