You are giving great advice. I was learning how to sew when my grandmother was teaching me when I was a child, but I kind of fell out of it once I became a teenager.

Pull the thread to change and chain stitch! That's i learnt both later in life.
Not rushing is just good advise with any project or thing you are working on. When you rush you make mistakes and that is just a recipe for disaster!
