Seeing these two have genuine moments of laughter and interaction is legitimately friendship goals. That breakout of laughter to "And as a gay man, he had nothing to lose!" only shows the camraderie between them, and their compliments to everyone that walked with them on the journey of abridging feel earnest and heartfelt.
If every April 1st produces gems like this, I can have faith in some good content from that day again.
Reminds me of their Xenoverse 1 playthrough, when they were discussing if a character(I think it was Recoome) would use the f-word and they actually said it.

I know it's rough around the edges, but even back in the 2000's, you guys were onto something truly special, and it was a genuine pleasure watching you all grow as artists from the very beginning.

Fifteen-ish years after the last time I watched it, the scene of Lupin exclaiming, "I has a bucket!" stuck with me all this time.

Having never encountered Lupin Abridged before now, that open bar joke in DBZA always bugged me. Finally understanding it is like a small weight off my shoulders. So that's cool.

Getting to learn about the history of abridging through these videos has been a fascinating and welcome experience.
Lani, not sure if you'll see this, but I want to echo what I wrote in a letter way back when DBZA ended with the Cell Saga. YYHA was something I looked forward to watching whenever they came out. I was in a dark place in my life circa 2007 with my mom having passed away in 2005 and I was in state of depression. I loved every episode and laughed so hard with it all. I am glad to see you successful and enjoying what you do, and I look forward to see what you do in the future.
Also, you are right. Kuwabara is the best.

Yu Yu Hakusho Abridged was peak internet humor. Probably the best of all Abridged series ever made, all things considered
What's rough to you guys now was kind of revolutionary back then, and even considered good! I genuinely think the abridging scene has had an effect on online comedy and humor in a big way and I think you should be proud of that!
I watched your History of Trunks stoned off an insanely massive edible and when Trunks found Gohan I could not stop crying for like 30 minutes.
I've watched all of DBZA really high. It was like pure nostalgia with none of the melancholy, like I get to slightly experience everything for the first time again. It was really nice
As painful as it may be for you Lani, I'd love to see more of your commentary on YYH abridged. It was actually one of the only ones I watched way back in the day alongside YGO and Naruto, so seeing the first episode here again was super nostalgic for me. That said, this was my first time seeing that Lupin abridged, and I have to agree for the time that's some really impressive stuff! I'm sure young me would've gotten a kick out of that series back then, had I found it.
I have a similar story to Lani. When I destroyed my knee in judo and spent several months unable to walk, I decided to finally watch DBZA after hearing my high school friends talk about it for years.
Didn’t save my life or anything, but probably help preserve my thin grasp on sanity.
I just wanted to say as someone who’s been a fan of DBZA for years and has NEVER watched the Lupin Abridged before, that shit is actually hilarious. I’m sitting here at work trying not to look like a crazy person holding back my laughs while I listen to this ❤

As someone who writes professionally, I cringe the same way at my early chicken scratchings as Lani and Kaiser do to their early stuff. But I imagine that's true of virtually every person who works in a creative field--painting, music, photography, etc. And if it wasn't for our cringe-inducing early works, we wouldn't be where we are today.
But seriously, thank you so much LittleKuriboh and TFS, for the amazing work you've already done and the amazing stuff still to come.

I like my older stuff. Hell I wrote one of my best ever poems in eighth grade. I mean I'm tons more refined now, but at the time, that was clever shit and I'm a me hater like I'm not into my stiluff at all, but style aside I Am clever..at least, I was then. It is good to see my flaws of the time but I don't rip on old me cause that kid with what he had to work with still showed great promise.
I don't write professionally (yet) but have looked back at some of my early attempts with similar...well you described it already.

I cant stress enough how much I love this edit of dbz, dbza has been my biggest comfort show for years now, its so well paced, full of comedy and well relayed stories, i know its a bit of a extra stroke or two but dont care, thank you all for your art

I haven't finished the video yet but I do wanna say that YYHA was honestly way better than I expected it to be after hearing y'all talk about it lol fully expecting Lupin Abridged to be the same.
But also, y'all shouting out Gozar for ARDBZ just made me happy. He and his series was how I was introduced to the abridging concept and I've always had a soft spot for it.
I have such good memories of Yuyu abridged. I remember being ticked off that cartoon network cancelled it, so I went online to try and find a way to watch it. "Huh, what's this abridged thing? Oh! Mabybe its just highlights from episodes. Yeah, that might hold me over." :D
That glamour photo joke still gets me every time, I can't help but quote it when I pull out the blu rays.

Honestly there were legitimately a couple of really funny jokes in Lupin. I've never watched the original anime or that abridged so coming at it with nostalgia at all and I had a couple good chuckles.
One of the very first things I remember hearing about Yu Yu Hakusho Abridged as a kid was that Lani's Kuwabara was insanely good.

It's an interesting prototype to what DBZA did, especially for some of the jokes and voices.

It has been an entire year since this Commentary episode came out and exposed me to your original Abridged pilots, and for the life of me I could not stop laughing like a hyena. The Gatling gun of jokes within Yu Yu Hakusho Abridged absolutely could have killed me.
I liked YYH Abridged. I really enjoyed the sub-plot of getting Hiei's show back on air.

As somebody who got into Abridged shows very late in the game, learning about your work and other shows from before DBZA as well as other creators who shaped the early scene really gives me even more of an appreciation for the history of the art

Honestly them watching their first Abridged episodes and commentating on it, is kinda inspiring. Kinda makes me want to try my hand at abridging or anything creative tbh.
I still have "Irish Drinking Song" on my phone because of this exact episode of YYHA. And to be honest, YYHA was the reason I gave TFS a chance- I was really excited to see what you were doing there.
As far as I know, Lani always had the best Kuwabara voice near identical to the anime!
This and the early dbz commentaries make me smile so much because of how early internet they are~. Slurs aside, the editing and sense of humor in these early episodes is so 2010 and I love it XD

I remember being happy AF when (like six years ago) I found out about the _Lupin the 3rd_ abridged series, even though I wasn't always able to get all of the dialogues (because sometimes they were just too fast, and English is not my first language; also, Scott wasn't enunciation wasn't quite clear). It was great.
Then I came back looking for the episodes last year, and they were all goddamn gone.
What I mean to say with this is "Thanks, guys, for bringing _Lupin the 3rd: The Abridged Series_ back, even if it's just one episode.
Watching this at 1am, High, and named Jon was actually a surreal experience
