    I finally got this down after a few rewatches, I'm no engineer so measuring takes forever. 😁 Great stuff

    OHMYGOODNESS thank you for this tutorial. I have an assignment in social studies where we have to make a miniature version of Jamestown including tents with materials we could find at home and I HAD ALL OF THESE! It was soooo easy. Thank you SO MUCH!

    well that's got to be an interesting smelling tent..and I can kinda see a story in my head from just what you used to give it the fall look. The adventurers awaken on a foggy autumn morning with the dew and fog bringing out the scent of the herbs buried in the leaf litter on the ground as they brew a hot pot of coffee to put warmth back into their bones from the chill of the night and the foggy morning. As the coffee brews and one adventurer inspects the patches to see if they need reinforcing yet again an angry growl comes from deep in the fog and they make ready to defend themselves.
    Well that's just off the to of my head mind you but I'm impressed with the simplicity of the build and how well it turned out in the end. Good work man, very good.

      Not the best at drawing, but I want to create things so I write..and read alot. Thank you for the complement all the same. I actually have some pizza spice at home myself and I never thought of using it like this or the coffee grounds either.

    Dude this is perfect for my WW1-style miniatures. White tents set up for field hospitals and olive-drab for sleeping.
    Keep up the amazing work. I'll have to try this.

      The card base is also a bit dodgy - PVA will make it warp. Better to use either Expanded Polystyrene sheet or MDF.

    I literally just bought the starter set (5e) and don't know much but want to make these models . Should I play from a gridded map (like all the places) I downloaded off Google or a blank gridded laminated big page from the print shop . Thanks .

    • @MiniTerrainDomain
      @MiniTerrainDomain  9 лет назад +2

      +Cian Bowbrick Welcome to D&D 5e! Gridded maps and laminated (dry erase) maps are great for quick setups. You can actually play with miniatures and not even use a grid. Check out DM Scotty's RUclips at theDMsCraft and search for his videos about gridless play. And check out my other vids for more tutorials. I've got more coming soon too.

    I had one of these when I was in the army well half of one it took 2 to make 1 tent so you had to have another soldier in order to make a tent with. Is that a tent in your pocket or are you just glad to see me?

    • @MiniTerrainDomain
      @MiniTerrainDomain  7 лет назад

      +Chris P. Bacon I was in the Infantry and sort of based these on the classic shelter half tents.

    I have to ask, did you use the cardboard from a package of drinks? I tried with corrugated cardboard you get with regular packaging boxes, and ended up failing miserably...

    • @MiniTerrainDomain
      @MiniTerrainDomain  9 лет назад +1

      I used a thinner cardboard from a package of corn dogs. Cereal boxes, cracker boxes and others are perfect. I should have specified to use non-corrugated cardboard.

    The coffee grounds and pizza seasoning doesn't ever mold or whatever?

    • @MiniTerrainDomain
      @MiniTerrainDomain  7 лет назад

      The pizza seasoning is dried herbs, so no...it won't mold. In fact, the stuff I used here was already a couple years old. As for the coffee grounds, as long as they are thoroughly dried prior to coloring, they will not mold.
