Build the 22r with the 20r head silly. It's SUPER popular with these trucks. I've been working on them my whole life and watching people with more money doing cooler things, lol. When the l52 trans gives up, get a w56a or w56b and put it in there, you can just flip the crossmember backwards and hang it on the back studs only then use u bolts to mount the rear bolt holes you just need to drill a few new holes and have the front driveshaft lengthend and rear shortend after.
