    We had a 2017 Passat and loved it. Value for money was great. Never had a bit of problems. And so roomy in back seat for grandchildren. When we heard they weren’t building any more we decided to trade in the 2017 and buy a 2022 limited edition. Love it.

      Absolutely agree with this. I had a 2017 also and I used the backseat to haul around my nieces & nephews. You nailed it. Glad you got out to get a new one! Hope it serves you well for 10 years or so.

      I owned a passat about 9 months ago, until I was stopped at a light at a freeway off ramp. Drunk driver slammed into me going 80mph. I was hit so hard I went underneath the car in front of me. The passat trunk was crushed into the back seats. I walked away without a scratch, it saved me. So last week I bought a 2022 atlas cross sport r-line. Love it already.

    As someone who owned 2 Passats, I'm sad to see the line go but it's clear that they stopped putting effort into it some years back which is unfortunate. I loved the sized and handling of the vehicle along with the looks! But when deciding to get a new car last year I couldn't help but notice that they didn't update much if anything where you could switch brands and get better mpg, power and tech in the same ball park money wise for a sedan. That's how I ended up with a 2020 sonata limited. I still miss the Passat every time I see one but I know I made the best choice I could despite losing some size.

    I am glad that I bought my 2020 Passat a little more than a year sgo. I got my Platinum Gray Metallic SE model for $6000 below MSRP! At 12,000 miles on the odometer there have been no problems. I routinely get 40 mpg on the highway and 32-33 mpg in and around town. The ride is quiet and smooth. Lots of room. The infotainment system is nice. I like the styling too. Clean and simple. My auto insurance even went down with all of it's safety features. I plan on keeping it for a l o n g time!

    Thank you so much, I'm happy you did a full review of the final VW Passat. I too am a sedan guy at heart. I'm actually trying to decide on whether to finance a brand new Passat over a pre-owned Tiguan SEL Premium, a two row five seater. I'm looking at 2019 Tiguans, and the price of a pre-owned Tiguan is very close in price to a 2022 Passat.
    How does your Hyundai Sonata do in snow and ice since your car is FWD?
    I love the Tiguan for the 4Motion all wheel drive capability. I too live in a state where it gets cold, snows, and gets icy. I'm interested to know how your Sonata does in adverse weather conditions. The 2019 Tiguan SEL Premium I'm interested in is priced at $28,900 with 13,000 miles. The price is comparable to a 2022 Passat.
    I have noticed that 2018-2019 Tiguans are priced around there up to the mid $30,000 range. This such a quirk of mine, I'm not a fan of the sound of the horn on the latest Passat.

    • @2004cyrus
      @2004cyrus 2 года назад

      I have a 2019 Tiguan and it’s excellent just not super fast. That is the only real complaint some people have. Most owners love their Tiguans according to thousands of comments I’ve read on Tiguan videos. But it is a large and heavy vehicle for a 2.0 turbo. The torque helps tremendously

      The small engine and low HP is THE reason to have a turbo. It's a much needed boost. Without that turbo, the car would drive a Honda Civic - you know, you best be flooring it and going 55 mph by the time you get to a hill because you'll have no chance of going the speed limit.
