Do they pick your date based on your job?
I have been working out as much as I could but I’m really worried about not passing PT. I can do the minimums but I usually have to do them in sets. I ship out on March 30th!
As long as you have been working out prior to BMT, you’ll do fine! The PT they have set in place will get you where to need to be in order to pass the tests as long as you apply yourself. Stay focused and push yourself! Good luck!

Do you get issued glasses and have to use even if you already have a pair or is it just for people who use contacts?
Hello! Yes, you do have to use the BMT issued glasses for uniformity reasons. Contacts are not recommended for training purposes.

Are they strict on when you can use the latrine? Or can you use it anytime you need it? My bladder is the size of an ant that's why I'm asking. lol.
No they aren’t if you are formed up and just standing there just ask if you can leave and bring a wingman with you. Other wise they aren’t strict at all except at beast week.

You may utilize the latrine whenever you need to; however, they give breaks periodically to do so, so try to utilize EVEN if you feel you may not need to at the moment to avoid having to ask in more inconvenient moments such as during PT and class.

how long is bmt + tech school. & when you graduate do you get to be home for a while? or are you stationed right after? i’m currently in DEP
BMT is currently 7.5 weeks while your tech school length depends on your AFSC. You can also find all tech school information such as the length on the official Air Force website. Once you graduate BMT, you ship directly to tech and after tech you ship directly to your first duty station.

did you get your ABUs when you got your pt gear?
Hi! We transitioned to OCP’s and we received them at separate times. PT gear was issued in Zero Week. Clothing issue was in Week 3.

Hi! Yes, weekly phone calls due to COVID. My calls ranged from 5-25 minutes but that is up to the discretion of your MTI. Good luck!

We were the squadron across from you guys the 320 Gators. Did y’all end up going to beast week cause or did it snow when you were suppose to.
Unfortunately, no! We had two days designated for BEAST. One consisting of TCCC, FEST and one for CATM.

Do they really recycle you if you fail your final PT Test? My son passed the run, the set-ups, but missed the push-ups by one and they recycled him back two weeks.
Hello! Yes, they do recycle trainees if they do not pass their final PT test. In what week of training did this all take place?
@@SummerMonroe he got recycled in the start of week 6, but did his final PT Test toward the end of week 5.
They put him back to week 4.

@@SummerMonroe no, they sent him to his new flight this past Monday. His old flight was doing beast week wed, thur since it was cut short due to the holiday on Monday and the down day friday.

I start bmt tomorrow!! I can’t do pull-ups and I can hardly do push-ups will that a problem for me the couple weeks?

Hi! No, that shouldn’t be a problem. Pull-ups aren’t required only if you are competing for distinguished PT honors. As long as you push yourself and work hard, you will improve your push-ups by the time you graduate. Good luck :)
Was it okay to have hair highlights at bmt?
Hi! There were girls in BMT with subtle highlights, nothing too crazy though. I dyed mine just to ensure I was on the safe side.
Do you have to take any tests in order to pass BMT?
Hello! Yes, you have to take 3 PT tests and an EOC test. Everything in basic is a test in some form but those are the actual ones that dictate your completion of BMT. Don’t forget to subscribe if you haven’t already :)

I completely forgot that we spent an extra 30 min. just walking around the air port because we were so intimidated by the large crowed of people haha.

Yes!
To can join in the airforce or air guard how good your English has to be ?
That would be a question for a recruiter but as far as I know, that’s not a disqualification at all. There are actually programs such as DLIELC to help recruits improve their English.

You will. Just remember to make the best of every moment in spite of how bad it may “seem” at the time. BMT is a memory I’ll cherish for the rest of my life, without a doubt. Good luck!

The MTI’s don’t yell at you during ROM?
Idk how it was like in their squadron but I graduated feb18 and our MTI’s yelled at us even during rom which it’s not that bad because you realize later on it’s just their job.
Yes, the MTI’s yell all throughout BMT; however, it did happen less often as my flight progressed through the weeks of training.

You create a dream sheet with bases you would “prefer” but the Air Force ultimately decides on where you’ll be stationed based on needs.

No; however, that was optional in tech school.

Hi! Thank you! You do not have to have your hair in a bun. According to the new AFI, you also do not have to have a bun meaning you can wear it in a pony tail. How long you have in the morning just depends but typically there is enough time. You can do it the night before if that works for you but I took that time to let my hair rest from the tightness all day lmao

Do you bring running shoes and can you buy your own comfortable boots to use in training
You can bring your own running shoes but you are supplied with a pair that you automatically pay for as well as boots. You won’t be able to purchase a different style of boots until tech training which is after BMT. Don’t forget to subscribe to my channel if you haven’t already :)

@@antoniojoventi I think the Air Force would definitely help with that career path or even if you wanna do something completely different. Definitely think the decision through thoroughly and research the jobs you're interested in on forums like Reddit. I'm currently in the DEP program, waiting for a broadcast journalist/public affairs position to open up. I graduated with a sociology degree about 3 years ago, worked a few office jobs, but I want more and the Air Force seems like the best option for me right now. Even if I don't end up making a 20 year career out of it, it'll be an experience and many lessons learned.
@@endyabayou9968 and also I think joining is best for me because it I’m will mold me into a better man I’m only 23 but I’m still kinda irresponsible and too dependent and I wanna break away from that
I think joining is a great opportunity not to mention countless benefits that come along as well. I graduated from college back in 2018. I always strive for more and I feel like the military can provide more for me. Go for it! Is the Air Force your choice of branch?

Hello! Yes, you can wear whatever underwear you would like. For socks, you will be in white or green socks that are issued; however, feel free to pack your own civilian socks for tech school purposes.

@@vontells yes, the vaccine is a requirement for all military. Ask a recruiter as far as what the current BMT standard is. It was not a requirement when I went through this year. Subscribe :)

I just got into tech school and basic was very boring like YOU DO the same thing everyday and HATED BED drills
I can agree with that but I think it was done intentionally. Bed drills were just flat out exhausting lmao but they worked. How’s tech going?

They give you a series of shots in BMT. We only got tested not the actual COVID-19 shot.
