Like all TRA's do at every opportunity like when women go to speak about their rights, on internet groups, Twitter. C'mon Billy, you're talking nonsense.

Billy Bragg, BIG respect love his music and his political passion! Although, he would do well to go Back to Basics on this cancel culture debate. 0:20 "...it's clear that the person who is making these statements is purely doing it to provoke" Clear to who? Where's the objectiveness in his rationale? Cancel Culture is real and it is being used to the benefit of the Globalists whilst being peddled by the Left. Just like BLM, just like Trans rights, all Globalist funded divisionism pushed by the Left - they have the Left wrapped around their finger, laughing at them.

Damn right. It's a pity that a gorgeous musician and a real nice fellow like Billy Bragg is turning in a puppet played by the globalists at the end.
He's done songs like St. Swithins Day you can't top und go deeper. But in politics he's failing right now. Maybe he'll make a check up some day.

It doesn’t matter what people want to hear or don’t want to hear. In a free society, a person has the right to speak his or her mind, and the passersby have the right to stop and listen, or to continue on their way. Billy wants to use force and coercion to compel speech he doesn’t like, in the name of sparing other’s feelings. It’s a very ugly and deceitful psychological tactic.

This is too short a take to comment on really, but there are issues that need to be addressed that are sidestepped. There are several overlapping but distinct issues here. One is the difference between Enlightenment discourse, which typically includes socialist perspectives, and postmodern discourse, which is post everything. New Social Movement actors, as well as conservatives, who think that Habermas' "ideal speech situation" does not exist because everything is power confuse Foucault's idea that knowledge is power with the idea that power (might makes right) is knowledge. On this subject, see the book by Richard Wolin, The Seduction of Unreason: The Intellectual Romance with Fascism from Nietzsche to Postmodernism. See also the Perry Anderson critique of the misappropriation of the Gramsci concept of hegemony by identitarians. When you use marginality as the justification for politics and culture, you can end up with the replacement of radical politics with for example "racial justice," which is a politics of the middle class because what you end up with is a politics that can only help a minority of people within a capitalist politics that has nothing to do with equality. You separate race from class and class from the critique of political economy. So what Bragg does is bounce back and forth between universalism and the postmodern relativism that is anti-universal and not socialist politics. One thing that is important to keep in mind is to not let the political right define your politics for you. When you do, you can quickly end up in the "progressive neoliberal" camp, as Nancy Fraser calls it, which is the good social conscience of authoritarian neoliberalism and the capitalist command economy. Clinton versus Trump is the bullshit "third way" politics that ends up with the CIA and the US Army promoting its intersectionality cred. Thinkers like Adolph Reed, Walter Benn Michaels, Vivek Chibber, Slavoj Zizek, Alain Badiou, Cedric Johnson, David Harvey, David Walsh, Ellen Meiksins Wood, Mark Fisher and a few others have much better takes than Bragg's social democracy moving rightward, like the news show Democracy Now. Like Bobby Seale said, you don't fight racism with anti-racism, you fight racism with international socialism. See also the important book by Behrent and Zamora, Foucault and Neoliberalism. Remain solidaristic with anti-oppression but don't let postmodernism turn socialism into post-politics on the latest NSM nonsense, anti-political "destituent" power. There are problems with intersectionality and decoloniality, and whiteness studies, etc, that people on the pseudo-left are not even aware of and that disarm the left and stengthen neoliberalism, which in part accounts for the resurgence of the far right. The analysis of Stuart Hall and co. is outdated and it wasn't that great the first time, though it resulted in a few good films, like My Beautiful Launderette and Sammy and Rosi Get Laid. Eurocommunism has failed and you can't save it with more countercultural gibberish. We need to build solidaristic mass movements and let the culture industry and university departments pander to identity markets, as they are wont to do. Don't make the right wing the alibi for lessons we all learned decades ago because if you do, you play into their game, which the neoliberal media is more than happy to dish up. It's not that there is no war but the class war, it's that the culture war is a middle class war against the socialist left. I love Billy Bragg's music and I could name a few songs of his that are the best fighting songs I know. He's a bit soft on these issues though - a bit too sentimental given the kind of clear analysis we need of what we're up against, like Leon Trotsky provided in his analysis of fascism. Too much of this milquetoast pandering is pressured by the electoral game, with demographics replacing politics. Kamala Harris says: don't come. Rishi Sunak says: make the working class scream.

Let's not forget that when the chips were down, Billy Bragg sided with forced medical procedures based on data from big-pharma granting people access to society, art and life - enforced by the government. I love Billy, I love his history and his songs - but he showed his true colours for a vaccine that wound up not stopping a shit of transmission.

Statistics show that the covid vaccines have been enormously effective. Vaccines are *never* 100% effective. A vaccine with 70% efficacy is considered very good. The covid vaccine had an efficacy rate of about 90% against the Alpha and Delta strains. It is nothing short of awesome that scientists were able to develop a vaccine that effective in such a short period of time. And with Omicron, the vaccine has been very effective at keeping people out of hospital (and the graveyard!). And an Omicron-specific vaccine is now imminent, which should decrease the transmission rate considerably. We are very fortunate to have brilliant scientists working on these vaccines.

Billy is doing what he's always done, standing up for workers & marginalized communities. "Essential workers" is what the owning class called the people that did all the jobs that kept the world going. But what are they called when they want a living wage? "Unskilled labor." What are they called when they don't want to be forced to risk their lives & the lives of their families? "Lazy moochers looking for government handouts." Don't you think these essential workers, those once praised as heros, deserve to go into work knowing they're safe from disease? Or should they be forced to go to work & risk illness, permanent medical complications, & possibly death, for themselves, their partners, their children, and their parents, all for $8/hr, not even enough to live on? Billy is doing what he's always done. Maybe it's you who changed?

All my life I thought of myself as a leftist, although politics was not the focus of my thinking.
But following 2006 I began to realize that many things we're told by the more and more leftist elite are absolutly wrong.
I would say that not I have changed my personal leftist views, but the leftist politics has.
      There are many examples:
Religion(christian) was a classical topic of leftists.
The criticism of far more radical forms of nowadays islamic religion gets silenced by the same leftists.
Theyy have changed, not I have.
