  • In this slowed down asmr pluming video I’m showing how insulate and lag my copper pipes using a very good tool to get my mitres and joints perfect!
    I’m using a tool made from a guy in the uk at drpipe.co.uk/product/tube-lag...
    The tool allows me to be fast and efficient with next to 0 wastage as the cuts are made perfect first time.
    To get the cuts as perfect as I could I’m using an insulation knife from toughbuilt. This comes in a holster so I can keep the blade as sharp as possible.

      It's called pipe insulation or pipe lagging in the UK. Not sure if I'd use "lag" as a verb though...

    At 2:04 I'm confused, and I feel like he reshot some footage. With the insulation in the correct final orientation he marks the FRONT FACE. He cuts out the section he marked. When he fits it, the cut out in on the TOP FACE.
    Did he make a mistake and reshoot, or am i missing something

    • @gregoryjohnson7706
      @gregoryjohnson7706 3 месяца назад

      It's worthless to keep it from freezing. Has to have electric heat tracer inside the insulation to keep it from freezing. Insulating domestic copper lines is a waste of money. You can maybe argue putting insulation on hot water lines put it's still not going to keep the water hot very long.

    • @muhhamad786
      @muhhamad786 3 месяца назад

      @@gregoryjohnson7706and that's why my hot water pipes don't stay hot for long after running water thru them. Physics had shown it to be true. There is a critical diameter of insulation though, any more or less and benefit diminishes.

    That's not true about the real Pro using insulation that's not cut many times on a construction site the plumbers do the plumbing and the pipe covers come in later and cover the pipe they don't work together you go on a job and try and put pre-close insulation on a pipe they'll shut that down then insulators want their work too and by the way I've been a pipefitter for 54 years that was a nice looking job that jig didn't he uses that's the real deal

  • @flok6232
