I'm watching these videos because I'm 28 and my voice has JUST started to change thanks to hormone therapy. I can barely speak it's so different. Thanks for the help and advice.
The changing voice during puberty is really problematic for singers, especially when they don't have any information, preparation and solutions. There are various opinions on this topic. While some vocal coaches claim that a singer should completely stop vocal training during puberty, there are actually some useful vocal tips and exercises, which thanks to this video find their way to the right people.
My voice changed so rapidly. A month ago ago I could easily hit the „and now I’ve gone and thrown it all away“ part from Bohemian Rhapsody, now it sounds horrible.
I am 13yr before puberty I just hated my voice and don't like singing but now I love singin and m learning thanks for this information I have high voice but I like low voice 😅😆
I'm 13 and i used to be able to hit high notes but now when I go high notes it gets choppy and cuts to this horrible sounding quiet high note, and just certain notes make my voice just cut its weird
ty, my voice has been odd for a while now, like for example depending on the day my speaking voice can rest at any where between D3-G2 but on random days my voice will develop this creaky sound without the use of vocal fry.
I'm 36 and I still have significant cracks. I still haven't figured my voice out since puberty. I have something akin to MTD, but I think it started around the time I went through puberty.
Me too 😭😭 it's super depressing that I can literally sing every Arianna Grande song with ease and even whistle most of Mariah's songs and now... I can't even sing 😭😭😭
My voice got deep after puberty, I used to sing really high but now it's deep, is there a video for voice like mine on your channel? If not, could you make one. Please 🙏🏽 some songs recommendation will be great, plus some exercises for deep voice.
I am trans male and I’ve sang since I was a teen , have had great control and breathe , I have never been more annoyed with my voice in my life 😂 I’m in my studio screaming at myself right now. No matter how much I warm up it just will not cooperate 😒😒😒
I'm just started with the hormones, my voice still hasn't change but would love to still be able to sing so, how are you both now doing? Is it much better now? Lovely to see more trans people here
@@Sampaqueerx I'm 1 year out into HRT. My voice is deeper and has stabilized more. Before it was very unstable. But like my belting point has changes, I feel out of breath a lot. I'm really struggling. It's still complicated and I haven't really been able to sing "like myself" again but I can still sing pretty well and hit the right note (which was hard to do at the start of HRT). Definetely do the warmups. It's why I'm here lol cuz yeah it stops you from singing for a while and you have to be prepared to have to re-learn a lot of things. (thankfully it's easier if you've done it before)
@@Sampaqueerx 1 yr on T now and my voice is able to be stable enough to sing again although i cant hit those beautiful falsetto notes like i used to. I suggest keeping a routine of exercise so that you can keep the ability to sing while your voice deepens 😁
Thx for sharing! Sorry for the late reply. At the moment I am now 3,5 months on T, and these exercises really help. Omg like my voice was getting deep very fast and like I can't sing anymore how I used before. It's like finding your voice again. Good to read that the voice is going to be stable again! I was kinda scared xD 😅
I'm transmasc, less than 2 months on T and I went from mezzo soprano to almost a baritone. I barely know how to sing, and I'm scared to sing cuz I worry ppl at home are gonna be like "why is your voice so low" 🤡 I love my voice tho.

bro, my voice is weird. when i talk its got a deep bass like timber. but when i sing its more like not that..? its so weird. i can sing up to b5 and my lowest note is like a d3 its weird. and i can sing the d3 powerfully and sing the b5 powerfully its weird, vocal teachers didnt know whqt ti do with me HELP.
I started hormone therapy a few months ago and went from soprano to not being able to use my upper register at all without my voice cracking. It's very frustrating
Hi, trans tenor here. For trans guys, our voices change on testosterone. So, it’s like a teen boy going through puberty. I started on a low dose and gradually increased it. My voice gradually deepened to a tenor voice.
my lowest note is Eb2 (well im pretty sure its in octave 2) and with my morning voice i can sing D2. im a young teen (f). will my voice get low enough to sing into octave 1 by the end of puberty? I train my lowest notes every day and am always trying to get lower.
I definitely noticed my voice type changing! At around the age of 11 I sang soprano. By the age of 12 I sang alto and by 13 I sang mezzo soprano. Now at the age of 14 I am a soprano.
Xd I contemplated whether I wanted to say first or not as If youtube has implanted an alien in my brain saying "Do it" Do it. But I won't because your videos have helped me find my voice and I built up from that. Thank you for helping me be a better me. What's the alien, you can sing, better, well at least you didn't comment first.
You sure you want them singing an octave and a half arpeggio when the singers are inexperienced? The change in registers when performing that vocal exercise will be interesting to see from a middle school singer’s perspective.
I used to sing good, I sang for my family until I started puberty like 3 years ago, I can’t even sing how I used to. Every time I try to go close to my high range my throat tickles and all that comes out is a wretched sound.
hey do i get taking vocals gradually during puberty but im a main singer in a band and some times i dont get breaks. any practices to maintain my vocals at the same ?
im a trans man, and i used to have a beautiful soprano voice, but i can barely sing anymore now that I've started hormones :( i dont regret a thing i just miss being able to sing LOL
Go easy on your voice. Ramsay has made a video for transgender people. Keep singing and you will be a beautiful tenor. I’m a trans tenor. I’m 5 years on testosterone.
Give your voice time to adjust. Your voice is changing. You’ll slowly get used to it. Keep singing, but be gentle on your voice. When I first started on testosterone, I started noticing changes in 4 months. I was gradually changing into a tenor. It took about 18 months for my voice to drop to a tenor.
Maybe instead of saying (boys, girls), you should have said (people assigned male at birth, people assigned female at birth). Just for next time you are talking about the two and are talking about their sex and not their gender.
