how do you get the codec screen to appear normal? Only way is to set XFB to 'Real' but this forces the game to run at native resolution not 4k. Im confused at how you managed it....

Ok so I've tried to emulate this with dolphin and for some reason the soliton radar isn't working with the emulator. For some reason non of the walls or the enemies appear on it. The only thing that can appear on it is snakes vision when I go first person. Any one have any solutions?

Yup! Same here! I got this game in 1999 and it completely blew my mind. Especially the fight with Psycho-Mantis and how you had to switch controller ports so he wouldn't read your mind. When did you ever see something like that in a video game!?

I have a question about throwing or choking an enemy. Do you have to do it ONLY when their back is turned? Also if you do, do they get back up?

What hardware are you using to get this running flawlessly at 60fps and 4K? I have an AMD FX 6300 and an R9 270 and I get a few hiccups at 1080p
Could be your processor. Emulation requires more processing than graphical processing.

Was this captured on an actual Gamecube or an emulator? Because the image is incredibly good and it looks like it's running at more than 30fps (console fps). BTW: Your channel is great! Keep up the good work.

RSE 167 The only Gamecube emulator that exists is Dolphin. It can also play Wii games. Runs great. Just be prepaired to fiddle with some settings before perfect gameplay.

Just as an FYI to anyone looking for a good playthrough to watch the audio clicks you hear go away so the audio is good through the series of this guy's playthrough. It is probably the best graphical quality playthrough to view but there is a little uncertainty of where to go at times and the combat (especially boss fights) is kinda sloppy. If you can tolerate that the video quality makes up for it. Hope this helps.
I'm guessing they changed the soundtrack due to rights issues? Pretty sure I read something about that, although I may be wrong.

😱 amazing! The little cube from the big N stills rocks in 4K UHD. Just amazing how well they do everithing in that console, this game looks fantastic, even in 2018, and more if you compare it to the poor graphics version of the Sony Play Station. Manuel The heart of the original PlayStation version wasn’t in the graphics! It was the storytelling. The tone. The suspense. The voice acting was more engaging in it too. Twin snakes ruins all off that. Better graphics don’t mean a better version.

It's actually very different. I prefer it to the original. The voice actors were amateurs back then. Solid Snake especially sounds worlds better.

When I played the first original game, I was always under the impression the PTT frequency undulating was the CD being stupid in that windows CD ROM drive.
Both PS1 and GameCube versions were in 4/3 ratio, not 16/9. Fail.

He's playing on Normal. I know this because on Hard mode you don't get the M9 in the locker in the first area of the game or the ration on the right side.
For me ,, Solid Snake an liquid doesn't look like a twins , they may look like brothers but not twins .

Snake cut his hair prior to the mission (and dyed it apparently), if you look the the briefing videos of the PS1 version you see Snake has long blonde hair, so he looks just like liquid.
The last video of the briefing is him asking for scissors so he's "not mistaken for their leader"

They are clones of Big Boss.
Liquid represents Big Boss' dominant genes. Solid represents his recessive genes.
As we all may have learned in school, dominant genes are more likely to passed on to offspring.
So Big Boss possessed Blonde hair as a dominant trait, Brown/Brunette as a recessive trait.
Solidus possessed both his recessive and dominant genes, therefore a perfect clone of Big Boss, looking exactly like him in terms of appearance.
