I was wondering "WTF?" when he put the paint pen in the drill press. Then I realized what he was doing. That was super slick. Well done.
I agree, so clever
0:25 to 0:35 what is it?
@@pandaaffamato9245 Testing for Lead paint. It is hazardous to all living things so must be disposed of properly...much like asbestos.
Same, had me wondering
@@troystanley192 thank you 😊
I know you’re super careful when unclamping the assembly tabs on these antique toys, but I’m still always surprised they don’t break off more often when you’re disassembling them.
Maybe there are a few videos we don’t get to see?
Having restored quite a few Lionel trains from the same time period, I've found the tabs are usually good for one more bend after unbending them. Unless they've already rusted through.
DarthSantaFe 📼😎that is so cool
That's good ol' steel for you. Bends quite a lot before it breaks. I hate taking apart old computers with aluminum RF shielding, as that stuff cracks and falls apart so easily.
0:25 to 0:35 what is it?
I absolutely love that you can provide this fantastic content without one spoken word; it's about the work, not the "sell."
These videos always make me so happy! I just want to cry, when I see antiques get thrown away because that is a piece of history we can't get back.
The trick with the gold pen blew my mind! Never would have thought of doing that
Agree. Thought it was amazing.
Me too! One is never too old to learn!
I was thinking about that also
I’m with ya!! That was great...
He does some marvellous tricks that I have now included in my hobby too.
I refuse to complain about the time between releases of videos. The quality editing you put into each video is so well thought out and must take a very long time. Thank you for sharing this with us, and I hope you and your loved ones stay safe
Woooo, Lead paint check was off the charts! That's the darkest red I've ever seen on one of those lead check pens.
The paint pen in the drill press trick was great! I never saw any one else do that at all! Nice job making your own rivets too. Always a top notch job!
Very impressive camera angles and well done with the feel and sounds on this one, didn't think they could get any better then bam. Awesome content sir!
It's like Santa's workshop but instead of making new toys you give them new life
Absolutely!
Indeed
andrea giorgi cool
Santa's REPAIRshop.
I was disturbed because I read santa as satan
The use of the drill press to do the gold lines was ingenious and blew me away. I never saw that one coming.
You have to have a lot of faith in the pen. If I did that it would blob everywhere.
Expert level application of paint.
Never would have thought of that.
Fantastic!!

While the restoration is outstanding, and the trick with the paint pen in the mill was great, I'd like to take a moment and compliment the video itself. Your camera angles were great and your cuts were sublime. I love that you don't use music and let the work speak for itself. I find these videos very relaxing just before bed. Thank you.
Me at 0:25:
"Lead paint! Yes! ... Oh! No, wait. This is bad!"
Hahahaha
What nonsense it is. The car is probably better preserved because leaded paint was used and you'd have to chew it all off before there would be anything significant ending up in your body.
@@corrigenda70 I think it's more for his sake, so he knows to wear a facemask to avoid inhaling any paint dust from hammering out dents
@@TheBrainSpecialist also on his hands, because lead is toxic
@@corrigenda70 formaldehyde is good for preservation too but it's still toxic bro
What are the point of those, lead poisoning?
We're all talking about the paint pen in the drill press, but are we just going to ignore that he machined his own rivets?
I make a new one.
Your right! I caught that.... he made his own rivets.... sooo coollll!!
First video i presume?
Yea, I thought I was watching a video from Rescue and Restore, not My Mechanics, but I like both, so I won't complain.
0:25 to 0:35 what is it?
I hope this virus doesn’t effect the channel too much, stay safe and keep up the good work
Burney_Games naw they are just gonna rescue and restore themselves.
He's probably stuck inside with nothing to do like all of us
Naw, nothing can with stand sand blasting!
Well, this job requires a lot of masks, probably, for there is a lot of dust and toxic chemicals, so it might become a little more expensive than before
I doubt it will AFFECT it.
Is it just me or cant you get enough of the sandblasting. Love the whole process of your work sir and the inventive ways you use. Just breathtaking. Thank you for making so many people happy with your abilities.
I love the sandblasting!!
This came out absolutely perfect! I always enjoy watching a professional doing a restoration! First thing I thought of when I saw the video was naming the street car "Desire" hahaha!
This dude makes it look so easy. He's a true wizard at this. Always has little clever tricks up his wizard sleeves
Wizard
Pojawerrr
Finally a new vid! I could watch these for hours. Quality stuff man
I think this was one of your finest restorations yet, mate. That big oven is the balls! I can't believe 64 people disliked this.
As if they could do something like this. Maybe they must be jealous. Taking old things and making them new again.
Ah yes... when we could see the dislikes....
@@snowfox1987 But we're a kinder, gentler RUclips now....
@@American_Jeeper yes ..but the video owner can still see them. I just don't know you would ever dislike incredible talent and workmanship!
@@PK-oy4fe I agree wholeheartedly!
I would say "wow" but that would be horribly understating how awesome your work is.
Absolutely genius! The way you did the marker highlights with the lathe!! Hope you and your family are safe during this crazy time were going through... 🙃☮️
Dude, you need to upload more often. Your content is amazing and I hate waiting so long for your next video!
Same. This is the only channel I'll go back and rewatch the other ones. I just love how clean and professional and beautiful the work is.
Kartis xanth he really is! He is also so resourceful! He made Bingo orbs!
@MCAdventurer : that was a brilliant resto!! Loved that vid. But my numbah one fave is the easy-bake. With bonus bake at the end, no less!!
Same!
I get excited whrn you still use the smaller oven, just to hear that "click" of the door. Also, the asmr when you put items loudly onto the black counter surface is music to my ears. 🎶
I love the click on that door!
What I guess I don't have the same sentiments about clicking doors and so forth interesting though
Great work again.
I'm curious, with all these projects that you've done, what do you do with them, save them, sell them?
If you do save them, I would love to see the collection at the end of the video or something.
me toooo
I was just thinking the same thing!
With a name like rescue and restore, I'm pretty sure his business is to restore items from customers as a service.
I’m thinking the opposite. He “rescues” the items and restores them. Perhaps he keeps some and may give some of the toys to children. The channel “My Mechanics” is the same format as this channel and he either finds the antiques or viewers send them to him.
Started off having a crappy morning then I see you put out a new video. 😁 Your restoration videos are the best.
Dude that was next level stuff, running the pinstripes with the mill was very cleaver. Great work brother.
i never tire viewing your videos....even over and over. Whats great is puting one of these videos on your phone for children to watch when ya gotta wait ...like at a restaurant and they would definitey be great to show on monitors in a waiting room..libraries...even class rooms.....etc ect ..... You let your skills do all the talking and thats cool!! Great Videos!!
4:10 definitely the most satisfying paint removal technique of all the restoration channels, IMHO
no [insert random restoration channel] is better!!!
I loved how it looks at the end
YES!!! I’ve been waiting for this to boost my enjoyment of life. Honestly, this is the best RUclips channel!
I have yet to see another restoration channel come close to replicating the satisfaction that you get watching your videos. I can see the production value grow with each new video you post. Keep up the great work!
Мне очень нравиться,как он реставрирует,спокойно, не спеша,с какой то любовью,такое ощущение,он свою работу,очень любит,приятно смотреть как он занимается реализацией,так не спеша,спокойно,без суеты.
The metal of this trolley looks thinner and more fragile than many of the toys of this era that I've watched being restored.
It's probably just cheaper than the other toys that have been restored. Those punched pennies come from somewhere!
I'm studying art conservation and restoration in university, hopefully in the future I'll be able to do things as amazing as the ones you do :) love your work, you're an inspiration
You are, of course, also subscribed to Baumgartner Restoration's channel, correct?
@@TheRealColBosch absolutely!! been watching him even before I knew what I wanted to study :)
Rescue & restore you are a genius each video of yours surprises me and leaves me amazed you see that you are a sea of knowledge in repairing antiques in short you are a teacher thank you for your work god bless you
Рисовать на сверлильном станке, это просто шедевр. Лайфхак года! 👍
I keep imagining the piano music from Mr Rogers when “Trolley” goes back and forth to the “Neighborhood of Make Believe.”
Oh, don’t act like you don’t know what I’m talking about.
Meow Meow knows the music.
You, sir, may have all my upvotes.
Grew up in the sixties and seventies, I know exactly the show and song. Too bad he can't add that to this trolley.
I am always very impressed that you choose safety first and test for lead when you disassemble anything. As always, beautiful work. 💗
You could open your own little museum and display all these wonderful treasures you work so well to restore 😊
This guy could have been a toy maker to princes and princesses back in the day. What a craftsman.
Hello, beautiful restoration. I love the way you “ painted “ on the gold trim. I was worried a bit about you and was happy to see
the notification. See ya next time. Be safe, take care.
You make me remember at my father that would restore old toys and wooden boxes in the 70's
He would have love to have your tools!!!
Super clever way to apply the gold lines there and the new rivets were so nice! So glad to see another video from you. I always find your restorations super relaxing. Hope you're doing well!
Another brilliant restoration. I go through Rescue & Restore withdrawal when I go too long without a new video from you! Be safe and be well.
Looks(and sounds) like someone got some new equipment! 👍🏻😀
Of course it goes without saying what an outstanding restoration it is! I must admit though, when it tested positive for lead, I thought it meant there wasn't going to be any sand blasting. My disappointment immediately disappeared when I saw that indeed there was sand blasting! What a relief! Cheers!
I did too until he brought out that liquid. Then I realized he would use that to safely get rid of the lead pain and sandblast the rust!
This is amazing. I'm just mesmerized by your restorations! My favorite part is always the sandblasting, it feels like magic every single time. You're a wizard, casting a spell to turn back time on those pieces! 😍
I have no clue how your videos ended up in my recommended but I have to say this is so cool??? I didn’t know people did this??? Best corner of RUclips hands down
Crazy how many crumbs that thing made just from taking it apart.
Delicious little bits of lead
Looks like it was the paint that was lead , good call on using the paint striped to get rid of it .
I really enjoy watching your restorations - you do a beautiful job. I'm also impressed by how clean, tidy & organized your workshop is. Thanks for sharing!!
Ive offically watched all your videos TWICE! Not sure what to do with my time now. Cant wait for whats next!
My maternal grandfather, an artist in his own right, would have been as addicted to your channel as I am and would have loved to watch you work as much as I do.
Brilliant way to draw on the lines! Made for a beautiful, sleek finish! Great job!
I always look forward to the next video!
By far, BY FAR, you have the clearest setup when it comes to sandblasting. No one on youtube has anything clearer! I can totally appreciate the time, effort, thought and mostly likely, expense that went into the setup to produce such clarity!
These are the best and most zen videos to watch. My 3 year old and I watch these for over an hour sometimes before bed.
I've watched and rewatched your videos so many times I've lost count, I love them.
Maravilhoso! Fascinada por esta obra linda de restauração!
That idea of using the drill press and pen is pure genius. Thanks for sharing, and the end product is absolutely fabulous! Well done.👌🏽
Of all the restoration channels I watch, you are above and beyond my favourite. Although so many people do great work; I'm in awe of all your attention to detail, the little tricks you use to make things work, and, maybe a little weird, but I love that your tools and work areas are so clean. I always think it's funny when someone is fixing something up in a workshop that looks like a bomb went off, no shade to them at all cos it must be a pain to keep everything in great condition, just think that's why you deserve so much kudos!
These videos are so dang satisfying to watch. This guy is epic.
This strongly reminds of the little red trolley from Mr. Rogers!
Hey you are right
Me too. 😃

Very impressive, just when I think you couldn't get any better, you go up a notch with your abilities.
I always love these restorations, it's like going back 100 years and buying it a few minutes ago, magnificent work, almost magical.
Stuff like this makes me really want a sandblaster.
“Anything off the trolley dears?”
PredatorDrone13 we’ll take the lot
PredatorDrone13 Ooh! A lovely cup of Rosie and two digestives, please!
HeyHoney whhooaa
Yeah, can you take off the lead based paint please
@@iHeartSamanthaJ Ron's initial thought, "He's got more wealth than I'll ever see in a lifetime!"
Second though isn't, "Why does he want a dirt pour friend like me?", it's listing the flavors of jellybeans. Go figure.
I swear, I think you are getting better and better at each restoration. Nice job!
That pinstriping trick with the drill press is a game changer! That’s a brilliant idea!
Makes you wonder, who was the child that owned it, and what did they go on to do...
Because of the lead paint?
@@Tailss1 Most of the toys I had as a kid had lead paint. I've made it more than half a century so far...
@@sofabuddha So you didn't have any affects of the paint later in life?
@@zeked96 Not that I can tell...
@@sofabuddha well, it's most likely that you were a good kid and didn't go around eating lead paint. So, congrats on being smart and being still alive!!
Love ❤️ this trolley and how genius with the gold paint pen...brilliant!
Watch the sandblasting and the furnace timelapse is certainly a joy, but how this guy keeps his tools so clean is even more delightful!
It never ceases to amaze me how much life you can give these things again, and how satisfying it is to watch. Well done!
This is the most relaxing channel on RUclips. Watching you disassemble, clean, repair, coat, bake, and reassemble is awesome. The care you take into each project is well done, and thought out. You are very talented and wish you more success with the channel. Keep the awesome vids coming.
The genius in this is two sources of income for one customer’s project 😁
I wish you could post more often. I watch all the rest and can't get the same satisfaction, nobody does it like you. Thanx for posting and stay safe.
That was the most unbelievable job....it was trashed, absolutely gone....and you made it beautiful! I'm very impressed, and using the paint pen on the mill table was ooh-la-la!
I love that he swept up the rust bits. I was hoping he would!
Congratulations on another perfect restoration. Well done.
This will always be the original restoration channel for me!
You give all of your restorations a new life, I love that!
Keep it up!
The "marker moment" leave me astonished. R E S P E C T
0:40 Ah, the good old days when they used lead based paint on kids toys! 😁
And great restoration. 👍👍👍
Edit. And I must say WOW! super great job filming and editing this video! 😮👏👏👏
Of all the restoration channels I've seen so far, I enjoy yours the most. The outcome is always so beautiful/amazing. I also like how you stay as close as possible to the original colors! Well done : )
R&R got some new (workshop) toys! Very impressive. Patreon is a good thing!
I totally love sandblasting and how the paint looks when it's put in that oven ❤️
The marker trick at the end was a really cool way to get the precise, straight lines you wanted.
Очень крутой троллейбус!
В старых игрушках есть душа всё таки
The sand blasting is probably the most satisfying thing I have ever seen in these videos
Очень нравится смотреть Ваши работы!! Спасибо большое!!
I would like to imagine that this is probably what it looked like when it was unwrapped on Christmas day, many years ago.
Your jobs are ALWAYS EXQUISITE and with such finesse! Love watching this work but can't stand watching others give it a try. They need to watch and learn from you. Thank you so very much for sharing your work! And for those thumbs down people: May the fleas of 1,000 camels infest their armpits!👍👍
Cómo todos los trabajos que nos compartes, excelente...!
Esa técnica de pintar líneas doradas con el taladro de banco fue genial... Felicidades
Using the mill to lay down stripes- BRILLIANT!
I wish I still had my old Tonka Trucks just so that I can send them to you to restore and keep.
Hey man, love the video you are truly talented!
keeping you and all the other RUclipsrs in my prayers, stay safe brother.
Your attention to the detail is appreciated. Well done 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👍🏽
Beautiful outcome. Genius paint pen trick for pinstripes!! Great job!!
Outstanding job. I was really surprised at how good the condition of the underlying metal was.

You really dredged up a tough one this time with your usual outstanding results! Gold striping....genius!
A FANTASTIC restoration job!!.. The trolley is now all ready for passengers again!!.. Keep up the great work Bud!!
