Good to see you back on the tubes Leo! Nice Petersons I like those Silver Spigots, 999 is a great shape. Beautiful Calabash, oak is a nice touch. Gourd and meerschaum--they smoke so well, coolest outside of a hookah! I Looked for and finally found a calabash back in the mid 90s, pre-internet. Found it at a pipe shop in a big farmer's market that I'd gone to since I was a kid. I don't recall the brand but I know it was fairly well known for calabashes. Maybe 15 years later, I'm in another tobacco shop talking to the guy behind the counter, as I notice a weird shaped object sitting there collecting dust, oak base, strange piece of smoked acrylic projecting out of it so I asked, he had no idea, looked again and realized: that's a calabash pipe holder! I'll take it. I'll put a pic on IG and tag you, if you're in that neighborhood. Look forward to your thoughts on your Filsons etc. Cheers!
So good to see and hear you once again Leo. Someone on our Zoom meeting of old guys wearing spectacles, beards and smoking pipes was asking about you and how you were doing or if we had heard from you lately, I said you had been taken in by cats then wondering the countryside with the trees while reading books and having a pint now and then. Enjoy your activities and I look forward to your future reviews! Beautiful pipes Leo!
Hey Ron! Yes, I've been wanting to get back into those Zoom meetings, but I can't smoke inside when the missus is around and I don't have a man shed in the garden :D I will see what I can do to rectify that situation and hopefully join you fine gentlemen soon!
Hello (again) sir, Catched this video after a more recent one. I really liked your Peterson spigot. That is a kind of pipe I would love to have... being able to pass a pipe cleaner (in order to remove the humidity) while smoking is a big plus IMHO. I am really looking forward watching a video with you smoking your new Calabash. It is a beauty. Really happy for you... and knowing what you think of you new pipe ... I have a few Meerschaum pipes, and love them all....they may not be Calabash, but the smoke is so mush dryer ... Take care sir!
Happy you posted and to see you doing alright. I must admit, I subscribed b/c I once lived in the UK and enjoyed the discussion, plus the tobacco and pipe content fit my interest. The walk in the woods videos were alright but the pipe content is my preferred videos. Looking forward to more videos in. The future, cheers!
Thank you for sharing those pipes, I have a 999 shape Donegal Rocky which has given me faithfful service since the seventies, the Calabash suits you, I am sure it will give you some long meditative smoking experiences... looking forward to the future contents as mentioned. Steve.
Great to see you back, Leo. I couldn't think of a better rename for your channel. I've missed your commentary and the new name offers hope that you will soon be sharing more of it. You're right the pipe smoking content every time all the time gets stale. Smoking a pipe in a video about some other topic reflects well on the presenter and the content. Pipe smokers have and share interests about more than just the pipe and the tobacco. Your possible next topics for videos sounds wonderful Your calabash is spectacular. What a great find after many years of patient searching. The pipe suits you. Spending an entire evening smoking one bowl seems about right. The two Petersons are lovely. I really like a generously proportioned pipe and the 307 looks like it would take you through quite a few chapters in whatever book you happened to be reading while smoking it. Those 'suggested for you' channels and posts can be truly strange. It makes you wonder what combination of views and subscribes produced the suggestions. Be well, my friend, and stay completely awesome - peace
That Calabash is massively supreme! I myself have been watching and waiting for years as well. I think the Calabash is the king of style and sophistication. Enjoy that man, what an awesome pipe!
It's good to see you back again. I have the B-10 in the New Grange series, also that is a beautiful calabash. Congratulations on finding it on ebay. Take care and stay well my friend. John
Nice calabash. I have one but haven't smoked it much. Bakis used to come with interesting stands that held the bit, so the whole thing would look as if was being clenched.
Great to see you back man! That pipe definitely comes with a nice hat, a jacket and Now all you need is puzzling mystery to solve Lol. Happy smokes! And happy new year ahead
Good to see you again Leo, and I love the name! Congratulations on the new pipes, you can’t beat the quality and feel of an old Peterson. I wish I could stand the p-lip, I love the easy clench but it just rosts my mouth. Not bad to find an Orlik calabash, it suits you! See you around, be well! Emil
That calabash is magnificent! Congratulations. I hope to find one myself eventually. The other two pipes are very nice also. Filson products are far too expensive for me to consider them. Unless I happen to find one at a thrift shop which I think is the same thing as a charity shop. Nonetheless I'm curious to hear your impressions. It is a well respected brand with a long history. The vest i have is apparently around 50 years old. New old stock. It was a gift and i like it but that is my only experience with the brand. The algorithm seems to want to show me videos that are either very popular or contentious or both. I'm not typically interested in either of those and usually move on to something else quickly. It's not just the pipe community. The algo shows me the same type of result for homesteading, herbalists, peppers, firearms etc. I suspect this is a result of the majority of RUclips viewers currently watching things that offend or enrage them. Or things they agree with vehemently with fist pounding table resonance! Conversely it may be that the reason the majority of viewers are watching such things is that the algo is showing it to them. That would be the more sinister option. Chicken or the egg kinda thing. If people can be kept distracted with offense, outrage, disgust tword others and devolve into tribal groups from which they can scream their curses and hate then they can be kept oblivious. Throw in some uncertainty and fear and well, perhaps the whole show might be stolen while no one is looking. I know that your comments at the end may not seem like that big of a deal but I'm seeing the same thing and I'm hearing it from a lot of people as well as watching people become intrenched online and in person. I don't know if it's sinister or not. My thought for the moment is resist the outrage. Anyway good to see ya. I'll try to keep my comments shorter in future. I'm a bit over caffeinated at the moment. Take care
Hey T. Don't apologise for a long response, it's the closest I can get to having an actual conversation with you! I was going to do the Filson review vid today but the weather is icy and I think I might crash my car getting to where I wanted to go for it, so will probably have to wait for another day. The algo thing is weird. At the moment all I'm watching are videos of an older gentleman in the UK doing overnight camps and hiking with minimal army surplus gear, historical cooking, and catching up with a few of the YTPC I am subbed to. Yet after falling asleep with continuous play on I still wake up to overly dramatized crime documentaries and programmes about WW2. Must be my age demographic. Keep well, my friend

You've got my interest, friend. Thanks for sharing with us.
Hello Leo. I have always enjoyed your your videos so welcome back. What a beautiful calabash. Enjoy and be well.
I'll be watching. Pipe smokers are careful thinkers and seem to always be worth listening to. 😊😊
Oh I love the calabash!
Well stated. Perhaps a little self gratification, Mr Tunnel? 😂
@@marcspade_pipes hehehehe😉😉

So glad you're back. You were sorely missed. Sorry it took 3 weeks to discover your reemergence.

Keep well, my friend
beautiful pieces of wood!
but what term is needed in the ebay search bar to get such a big monster?
trumpet? ,-)
take care mate!
Hello my friend! How have you been?
Hmm, curious what RUclips suggests. Haven’t looked at a suggested video in years. Happy smokes
