    Fuel tanks always seem to be a problem on older equipment, the extra work that you went through to clean it will be worth it in the end. I will suggest a little biocide in the fuel for a couple of tankfuls will clean up any issues with that. Just a thought. The other way to help keep your fuel tanks in good condition is to keep them full, fill it at the end of the day and you won’t get any moisture in the fuel. Be blessed.

    Replace the lights with some LEDs and a small portable generator would make the perfect unit?

    Recommendation get some big magnets when flush fitting and piece of plate so you don't have to tack and bend. Also 35 degree grind the plate for a good structural weld stick welding includes your route pass and 2 other passes for your cap.

    Next tank you hace to clean try filling it up at least a third of the way with rocks and also add water. It'll keep the rocks from caking up with filth, thus keeping them sharp.

    Park the trailer right next to the building. Wire the lights directly to your inside power supply and you’ve got a fully lighted yard

    Those colors on that loader seem almost exactly like the older case yellow and brown. That one headlight almost looks like a ford tractor headlight.

    Pour a few gallons of white vinegar in the tank and add more rocks. It cleans it up very well. 😊

    To dilute a acid or alkaline to neutral PH, using the " rules of 10" it takes 10 times the amount of water to more the PH a difference of one. So 1 gallon of acid, with a PH of 13 would take 10 gallons of water to move to a PH of 12 leaving you with 11 gallons of acid, to more that to a PH of 11, you would need 1100 gallons of water, and so forth until you reach neutral for disposal. You would need tankers worth of water to dilute a acid to safe. 1x10x10x10x10x10x10 gallons in our example to more 1 gallon of PH acid to a PH of 7 through dilution. In the mean time you are making more and more acid at a lessors and lessor strength. A master welder showed me that if you use car exhaust to displace fuel fumes before welding or cutting on the vessel, CO2 is better but either way fill the vessel with inert games to displace flame le fumes. You need a 5 gas meter of a PID a photo ionization detector to verify the inert atmophere.atmosphere via a LEL sensor, which measures 10% of 100% or the Loer Explosive Limit of the flammable range in a volume of atmosphere calibrated through whatever calibration gas is used and converted for accuracy. Complex eh.

    I’ve welded on gas tanks but I had compressed air blowing in it for an hour or so and then kept it going while I welded. No problems. 😊

    Cutting / welding a empty gas tank is more dangerous than a full one.. but full of water is best / safest.

    Easiest way to weld on a tank is to fill it with water. Same with cutting it open. Another is to fill it with argon. I prefer water. Works every time.

    You can render an empty gas tank safe by filling it up with water you can render muratic acid safe by diluting it with water and soda ash or baking soda will neutralize the acid

  • @darkfactory8082
    @darkfactory8082 9 месяцев назад

    Mmm, nice approach to the tank, muriatic acid gets neutralised with sodium hydroxide, but you have to check with some acidity indicators to know when it's neutral. Other than that, it's a beast against rust, works almost instantly. For last flushing of metal after acid, you can use some sodium bicarbonate. The less safe acid is 30% concentrate, which you smell while it corrodes your respiratory system and it smokes, the safer is usually a 20% solution.
    Sure enough, that tank was nasty. Another way would be some sandblasting, even with a small pistol for home use.. =) Be creative with solutions. Cheers, keep on.
