I had a nervous breakdown during the 2008 recession when I lost my job as a single mom facing losing my home. I qualified for the remodification because my mortgage was backed by fannie mae. It took 3 modifications, emergency unemployment for 2 years, and the county mental health center for treatment before I could get myself together. Today I still suffer from ptsd because of it. I give this mom a lot of credit for keeping the faith as mine was lost. God Bless her and her family!

I had an ex boyfriend (super evil) who cooked Ellen's French fries in meat grease because he was mad that she wanted everything white. It was a stadium in Oregon, and she said apparently they were the best fries she had ever eaten. He is so evil, sorry Ellen.
I think the problem is the expenses. She has a lot of mouths to feed which can make things much more difficult. I am from that area and there are affordable apartments though things are much more expensive in the DMV than in other parts of the country. I’m not sure why she isn’t able to get a lower priced apartment since she has a steady job but I hope that someone is helping her to be able to find housing!

It's mean to say, but unless the father of her children suddenly up and left/died or kicked the kids out with her, this is down to poor family planning. Kids were needed a long time ago to work on farms and such back in the early 1900s but there really is no reason to have more than one child per household in this era. I've worked jobs that only paid $40k a year and it was difficult to pay all my bills on such a small salary. That was with no kids. I can't imagine trying to support even one child on that salary! Children are extremely expensive and it takes a lot of money to ensure that they live a decent life and are educated well enough along with being equipped with the proper tools to ensure that they succeed in life.

We both have good jobs and a considerable amount of life insurance to finish paying off our house and to pay for college for our daughter if one of us dies. Plus, most entry-level STEM positions have minimum GPA requirements for entry-level work, at least at a major company. No sense in doing it if you can't get at least above a 3.0, which can be hard at a top school. Degrees just open the door for you to perhaps do work you want to be doing.

Me and my boyfriend were homeless and then we got into a shelter shelter for 8 months we're both disabled and only living off of my income very hard to get a place but thank God this for the shelter we got HUD housing only 300 a month and that's only with utilities that's all we have to pay and it's the best thing that's happened to us no more living on the streets

It took 3 modifications, emergency unemployment for 2 years, and the county mental health center for treatment before I could get myself together. Today I still suffer from ptsd because of it. Kids were needed a long time ago to work on farms and such back in the early 1900s but there really is no reason to have more than one child per household in this era. I've worked jobs that only paid $40k a year and it was difficult to pay all my bills on such a small salary. That was with no kids. I can't imagine trying to support even one child on that salary! Children are extremely expensive and it takes a lot of money to ensure that they live a decent life and are educated well enough along with being equipped with the proper tools to ensure that they succeed in life.

I planned a family only after I established a decent income, at about 28 years old and limited the # of kids to two. ..... I wonder how this happened? I don't expect handouts from anybody.

I joined the army so I could go to college without loans married my wife we both are debt free making good money and have one kid. We both have good jobs and a considerable amount of life insurance to finish paying off our house and to pay for college for our daughter if one of us dies. People want to make 12 dollars an hour and then have 3 kids and blame the system for being in a crap situation. It’s disgusting.

@K Maxx Even in a more competitive major, it can be hard for people to make it nowadays because more and more people are going after those fields, and employers are not as loyal anymore. Plus, most entry-level STEM positions have minimum GPA requirements for entry-level work, at least at a major company. No sense in doing it if you can't get at least above a 3.0, which can be hard at a top school. Degrees just open the door for you to perhaps do work you want to be doing.

Yes Lord I am a living witness Prayer in the Name of Jesus works. Single mother of 3 God kept a roof over my head, provided me with food cars. Kept my kids safe. I remember my kids would b sick I didn’t have health insurance I would lay my hands on my kids and call on the name of Jesus. God would always and still make ways out of no way for me.
