Boy, you have a ton of patience with that RV. I have to agree with you about replacing all the decking and framing. Now you know that it’s done right. The nail gun will be a huge help.
I’ve always wanted to camp but talked myself out of buying. I couldn’t deal with the poor workmanship. I just redid my small deck. It turned out pretty good. Now Ive had the house trim painted. The painted did a great job. New gutters and roof are forthcoming. Will be glad when they finish. Thanks for the update on your projects.
I have missed hearing your rants, lol. I’m just having fun, appreciate your humor with it all. It’s reality and I’m praying I didn’t buy a can of worms. We only camp a little so it a lot of wear and tear, but yiu bring up good points. I love the sales pitch, parroting remarks that dealers or rv manufacturers make like, “what do you expect, it’s an earthquake and a hurricane going down the road”. I have one even better for you. Last vacation we went on, got there, my sliding bedroom door came loose from a clip. I reattached it then when I closed the door, noticed the track pulled a loose from the ceiling. Spent half the day calling Jayco, and some nice lady that probably has never been camping, seen or heaven forbid, worked on one, was worthless. I was trying to get a diagram of the framing in ceiling, three try’s later, she sent it. Here’s my point. They had the track holing up a sliding door WITHOUT NO BACKER, JUST 1/8” PANELING. It’s one thing to put a shower head up without backer, but a bedroom door? Jayco, yiu should be ashamed! Repairing a camper constantly is not my idea of retirement bliss. Thankfully we are not using it a lot like you guys. Thanks for bringing us real world IRRITATION, Lol
I replaced the $3 door latch with a $40 keypad with wireless remote door latch. Worked great for a couple years before I sold my trailer. The keypad was priceless.
I had to do the same thing just today and used silicone caulk on the back of the holder and the next size larger screws and worked perfect and it’s sealed behind it also. I also slit the shower hose ring so that it can be removed when showering.
Just think of you had 3 or 4 kids ripping and tearing it your RV. The camper wouldn't have a chance. Always a long wait at the dealership for RV work ... Cause they are all junk! Thanks for great videos
25:35 --- on your chain link gate -- just switch the hinges to the other side post ... so that you can have it skew to align the rest of the fence alignment when you open the gate .... great video BTW ....

Hey guys! Great to see y'all with this update post. Hope y'all have a little free time coming up soon. I just sent you an e-mail, but wanted to see if y'all have any interest in coming to Pensacola Nov. 1st for the Blue Angels/Thunderbirds Airshow. We have an extra RV slot for that date at a phenomenal park right across the bay from the Airshow that we can't use. It's yours (on us) if you'd like to use it. Please take a look at the e-mail I just sent a few minutes ago and please follow up there (on e-mail), as we're not logged in on RUclips at all (only did it this time to message y'all). Hope to hear back soon, and hope you guys can use it!
LIV campers in americus georgia build the strongest campers ive seen, we toured the factory there and 3 of us hung from the overhead cabinets at the same time with zero flex
Spot on! We have a 2020 Forest River Wildwood camper and the toilet paper holder is just glued on and, of course, it fell so had to drill out and put in screws. Command strips just melt and fall with any weight when the camper sits in the sun when not in use. Just so many things that could have been designed better. Table coverings and seat cushions just peel off. Cheap, cheap, cheap. They just make it good enough to get it off the lot. Very irritating! Sad.
If you peel back the coroplast under the rig, you'll probably find that the wiring has been run through 1.5" holes in the metal framing without providing any protection to the wires from the edge of the holes. I'm putting rubber grommets in place as I can to protect the wires from damage and potential fire issues. I do have to cut the grommets to fit them around the existing wires but a little silicone adhesive solves that issue. We had the same issue with the shower head holder. Good times.
We just sold our TT after owning it for 5 years. I have to say, it was the happiest day of my life getting rid of it. I can see living in one full time. Actually, I would love to do that. But to own one to travel here and there in for vacation purposes, you are just throwing money out the window. They are money pits, period. I tell anyone that wants to buy an RV, if you aren't going to live in it full time, don't waste your money. Between the payments, insurance, registration, RV towing insurance, tires, batteries, accessories, repairs, we could have gone on vacations and stayed in 5 star hotels and not had the work to do just setting up and breaking down. From now on, it's hotels, VRBO's, B & B, etc. for us!
Poor quality is the Vanguard of the RV industry! They want them to fall apart so you will think a more expensive one will be better? Oh well, always interesting content. P.S. The towell hooks are Next!
@@irritatedtraveler years ago I found a hot plate that you plug ...in a box by the curb. So I grabbed it and this brought back memories how Mom would put hamburger in the ceramic pot ( wasn't with the hot plate) and we would make tacos once a week. So went home and plugged it in and waited a few minutes and touch the metal plate with my fingers and went WOW...this has a short somewhere. It went to curb in a box by my house.....lol
Brinkley’s are just the newest kid on the block - built by the same workforce using the same low quality Lippert frames and components in a factory run by owners and executives from all of the other crappy RV manufacturers. Right now Brinkley is just like Grand Design when they started and look where Grand Design is now.
HEADLINES, BUY A CAMPER, NEVER BE BORED IN RETIREMENT. You’ll spend all your spare time, fixing the camper you bought to go relaxing in, lol. So, no update on the refrigerator not working properly either? For some reason, I thought that was corrected. Our tv is not very good either. Couldn’t they screw the smoke detector into a ceiling joist, give me a break!
Now you can start another channel, irritated homeowners, or stay at homers, lol. Enjoy your sense of humor in it all, ya’ll have a nice house location, and no offense please, but that thing is a maintenance nightmare it would seem.
I’ve always questioned why manufacturers use the old “ it’s like a tornado driving down the road excuse for our poor craftsmanship/engineering “ your excuse is the exact reason why you should have built it better because you admitted that you know it’s a tornado going down the road. Now the bigger question here is “ who’s the suckers “ yep, it’s us
1. Trade in the power wagon for a 1 ton, maybe a F350. 2. Trade in the Junko for a Brinkley tt or 5th wheeler. 3. Hire someone to replace the wood deck and dock with composite. Too much pita work. Just my unsolicited 2 cents.

You are smart people. I have followed you for years! I’m sure you knew what you were in for when you bought that RV.
Command strips are awesome. I use them for everything in my camper. And when I trade it, in theory, I can remove everything with no damage.

maybe a String Level for your Deck Posts? Would have gotten you pretty close.
I used a string level but they still aren't as accurate as I would like. I just have to do my measuring at night so the laser works!
