This is one good looking young man. With this new style. This man has scars on his face so I am wondering it he doesn’t have a bit of excema to his face and scalp. Hope he is able to get a handle on it.
You are right ! From time to time, my husband has itching and scabs. He then has a lotion to apply every evening until it all disappears. Then he is quiet for a month or more. We noticed that when he cuts his hair very short regularly, he has this type of problem less often. It's the best solution ! 😊😊😊😊

Pretty much du-rags serve 2 purposes: 1) make the man look more menacing given the reputation of men who do wear du-rags (stereotypically speaking) 2) hide an imperfect hair Men that say they wear it for fashion or that they just like wearing them are lying to themselves. A man with great hair will always want to style it out and show it off.
dreads and locs are cultural and if you don’t know the history of someone’s culture keep your OPINION to yourself because you don’t want anyone to say something about yours.
@@jozellhobbs8284 okay Mr. Sensitive... 1) where is the insult in what anyone said here?? 2) What culture do you speak of when skimming through the comments made here [because it's obvious you didn't read through it carefully] 3) where is there a mention of dreads and locks around this area in particular?? We're talking about du-rags, not dreads and locks.
@@jozellhobbs8284 I owe you an apology. Upon looking into the video further, there was no recollection or any showcasing of any du-rags, so I'll take the time to say I'm sorry. I was under the impression that this was 1 of the videos where a client came in with a du-rag since I do come back to videos I've already seen from time to time to see other comments, and most of the times I comment before rewatching because there's a couple of haircut videos where the4thken cut someone's hair and they came in with a du-rag. This one is clearly NOT 1 of those videos. I made the mistake that I accused you of, and for that, I apologize. Also for calling you Mr. Sensitive. My sincerest apologies. Lesson here for me is watch the videos again before pulling off something as stupid as my reactive comment. I'm more guilty of that than you are. Mala mia. Edit: wow now that I looked back at it, I see where you're coming from now. @carolynwalls6787 it does seem that you're calling the guy's locks in the video "rags". Just to add to this guy here, this is very common among the Caribbean crowd (think Jamaica, Trinidad & Tobago, etc.) and African Americans as well. It is a popular hairstyle. It's what most would call the "Bob Marley" style because...well...Bob Marley made it really cool to have that kind of hairstyle (for those who had the hair to fit the style), though he's just 1 of many that made it look cool. There were many before him, but there was a time where most folks wanted to look like Bob Marley... HOWEVER, to your defense, I can see where you're coming from, and I'm HOPING that's the angle you were shooting for because, to be honest, the look did not suit the guy in the video AT ALL, but going back to @jozellhobbs8284 , yeah this could come off as insensitive.
I’ve never watched a man’s haircut/style session before. This was fascinating, thank you, and a real work of art!🎉. Mr Client looks even more handsome with his new look.
Nice cut!! I recommend Nizoral shampoo- it will clear up scalp issues (scalp psoriasis, seborrheic dermatitis, etc.) very fast; it's a blessing in a bottle!
I used Nizoral religiously for several months and it never got rid of my scalp psoriasis. It have temporary itch relief but that was it. Unfortunately, scalp psoriasis has no one size fits all fix.
It is very good for an itchy scalp. Also a flaky scalp often effects the skin on the face and neck and once it clears up the scalp there is usually an improvement with the skin.
I have psorasis. It’s painful at times. It’s so annoying and my scalp is bad. I wonder if he has that. All I do is scratch. Yes I go to dermatologist. In my ears to. Great idea to cut his hair. Soooo much better. Good job!!
I have locs and seborrheic dermatitis. He can keep his locs, he just has to be diligent about treating his scalp. T-Sal and sulfur 8 shampoos work wonders for me. I let it sit and then follow up with a tea tree oil conditioner. Also the key to helping skin conditions is diet/ gut health. Taking a probiotic daily may help him
My ex has a problem like this and we were able to care for it through his locs. I’d scrape his scalp and use a brush to get the flakes out (there was no other way). Then his scalp was free for a medicated shampoo and oil for a refresh or retwist. We used the As I Am dandruff (blue label) shampoo and oil. It helped with breakouts in between. He even used it in his beard and around his ears. Looking at his redness his skin is about to go crazy. I recommend the line
Very nice job. He must feel so good after that. I don't know if you mentioned it, but he has more than dry scalp. He has a bit of mild psoriasis. There are products he can use that will help him manage it and keep it from getting worse.
Awesome transformation. He should keep his hair short with his scalp condition. A good dermatologist should be able to figure out what's going on and prescribe something to treat it.
I suffer from painful sebhorreic dermatitis and it’s scaly, bloody spots that are super itchy! My flares are primarily in the winter; sun and saltwater at the beach help it during the summer. Putting red or UV light treatments on scalp during flare ups can help. An auto immune disease so is stays and needs special shampoos also. Not dry skin but cause by excess oil sebum production
From what I've seen so far, locs are one of these hairstyles that are perceived low maintenance but actually require a lot of care if you don't want to end up with scalp issues
I use a medicated antifungal shampoo and conditioner for this issue and im a girl with long microlocs. His scalp is so inflamed😭. Cut is nice but whew!

WOW! That was a spectacular transformation! You got skills! Too many times I see someone come in telling you they want one thing and then being all bent out of shape when you gave them what they asked for, but it isn't what they actually wanted or expected. You did a great job!
Damn good transformation. He’s definitely gonna have a much healthier scalp and then if he wants to do dreads again he will have a good canvas to work on. Plus if he maybe has the dreads done a bit different then his scalp can continue to remain healthy if possible. Looks amazing.
Nice job!! I’m a barber! I learned from my dad he was a master barber and most people don’t know how to do clippers over comb. I don’t use guards at all. My dad made me learn the old fashioned way. Haha I’m glad though. We do lots military haircuts.
Now that is completely different man. Looks fresh. You could tell he was really happy he did it to. I love me some dreads, but I think this was a nice change for him....
Wow! He looks amazing. You did an excellent job! Thanks for showing your technique and how you help them decide what would look better on them, most don't do that.

Yes I ended up with a bad case of excema on my scalp and I cut my hair all off kinda of like this guy but not styled like this as he is a man and I am a woman. Could put the cream on as directed by a dermatologist and got it healed up and hair grew back and it was good to go.
@@tmiller9197 I think myself it could be eczema . I saw his forehead and he had marks like he might have some eczema He should have seen a doctor maybe a dermatologist before taking all his hair off. But I know I took all my hair off because I had a bad case of eczema one time to just get the cream on properly . The dermatologist didn’t tell me to cut it but I did, Eczema can get infected but hard to say when we don’t get to see his scalp directly.

I’ll say it again: you are so talented. There is something about your application of that talent, too, though….you aren’t rushed or gruff with your clients. I don’t think it’s a projection to say that I see some kindness in the way you treat your clients. Between that and the way you speak, these videos have such a calming vibe.
I feel for this customer. I also have this scalp condition and it's brutal to deal with, especially at season changes for some reason. I hope this cut gives him the relief he needs. It looks great too.
I had scalp psoriasis and it was bad! The pain and sensitivity forced me to shave my hair off, I started with charcoal shampoo and vitamin e oil on the scalp
Man…I need a barber like this. I went to a barbershop showed a picture of the same haircut and the barber cut me way too high, didn’t blend it well, and pushed my line back.
I have had my locs for 9 years and I experience dry flaky scalp . I've learned how to take care of the locs naturally with essential oils. It works for me ❤

My husband had a terrible issue with this seborrhea and flaky skin on his scalp and eyebrows. I use tea tree oil / medicated shampoo and it helps. As does a hot oil treatment once a month.
Thanks for the info on Tea tree oil medicated shampoo, and the hot oil treatment :)@@kimberlypatton205
...your voice is so soothing! You spent such time, care and effort on your client and he looked great at the end. Whether he needed it or not - his confidence was boosted 💯 after leaving your chair. Fantastic job
Psoriasis is horrible and it is an Autoimmune disorder. My grandmother use to say all good health begins in the gut, if the gut bacteria is bad it comes out in the biggest organ in your body...the skin! Feed the gut microbiome with fermented food, ditch wheat and sugar and take cold pressed castor oil at least once a week. Use products free from SLS, fragrance and colourants for daily to regular washing to minimise scalp irritations. Put castor oil on the scalp before washing preferably overnight and add a little to the scalp every day.
Actually the bacteria is feeding on the oil and you actually going fungus in addition the waist of the bacterial which is a waxy oily substance
@@MzApril1980Castor oil contains the biochemical agent undecylenic acid, which is used to stop fungal growth. The undecylenic acid makes the natural remedy ideal for numerous types of fungal infections i
Except of course for the people with conditions such as mast cell diseases and histamine intolerance that do not allow for fermented or aged, oftentimes not even leftovers.
💯💯💯
I always say this…
Whenever my gut health is bad my skin looks terrible and when I detox my skin goes back to being calm…
@@LizzieWhiz Using Castor Oil is literally what started my Psoriasis. I'm so mad I ever listened to that guy on RUclips, never had a problem before using that crap.
A couple of days ago, I had to cut my dreadlocks for the same condition. I was not prepared psychologically and I was truly devastated. I thought I lost my identity with my hair, but it's just beneficial at the end of the day. Health over look and an healthy self-appreciation is always key to life. My hairdresser promised me to treat my hair so I will have my dreadlocks back and thanks to God, I feel satisfied with my new hairstyle even though it took me days before accepting my short hair.
I cut my hair really short after dreads and the light feeling that first day is unreal man.
I was about to close out of RUclips but came across this video. It’s a masterpiece! Excellent job. He’s a whole new man!
Man, he went from "Let me hold something?" To "How much do you need?"😂
He suuuure did
😆😆😆
😂
😂😂😂😂😂....good one😂😂😂
There’s nothing wrong with having locs brother
I watched your video from start to finish and I throughly even minute it, I am a 74 year old black and fills my heart with joy when I see young brothers displaying their skills on such a high level. And I must commend the young brother who sit in your chair and allowed you to work your majis. Keep displaying your skills.
What a kind comment ❤😊 he did a great job I agree
I love watching these transformation videos. Hell, I haven't had hair in 17 years but can still appreciate this artform! Amazing work bro.
Nizoral ketoconazole shampoo worked for my dry scalp. It can be drying because it’s medicated but if you follow with a moisturizing shampoo and a good conditioner after, it should be great!
Ken, you are that dude! I love your approach to your craft! I’ve been a fan since you were doing cuts in your basement. Your evolution is inspiring! You are a fantastic ambassador for your craft! FACTS… I’m an older cat with a career, but also an aspiring barber. You help to keep the fire burning. Thank you sir.
Repent and trust in Jesus. We all deserve Hell for our sins, such as lying lusting coveting and more. We can't save ourselves, but Jesus can save us. He died on the cross to save us for our sins and rose from the grave defeating death and Hell. You must put your faith in him only. He is the only way to Heaven. Repent and trust in Jesus.

I never knew those rags had a purpose. I just thought they were some kind of fashion. Always learning new things.
Pretty much du-rags serve 2 purposes:
1) make the man look more menacing given the reputation of men who do wear du-rags (stereotypically speaking)
2) hide an imperfect hair
Men that say they wear it for fashion or that they just like wearing them are lying to themselves. A man with great hair will always want to style it out and show it off.
dreads and locs are cultural and if you don’t know the history of someone’s culture keep your OPINION to yourself because you don’t want anyone to say something about yours.
his hair or style of hair isn’t considered rags. some might say that if you can catch lice then you’re dirty but keep your insults to yourself
@@jozellhobbs8284 okay Mr. Sensitive...
1) where is the insult in what anyone said here??
2) What culture do you speak of when skimming through the comments made here [because it's obvious you didn't read through it carefully]
3) where is there a mention of dreads and locks around this area in particular??
That wash must have felt so good! 🥹
I like your casual but explanatory way you showed us how you transformed his look ...the why and how ...great job ...he looks great !!!!
Beautiful job! Kudos to the barber. You really know what you’re doing!
I’ve never watched a man’s haircut/style session before. This was fascinating, thank you, and a real work of art!🎉. Mr Client looks even more handsome with his new look.
This was my first time too
It worked for me, and everyone I recommended it to. Sorry it didn't work out for you.
I'm the same with Nizoral shampoo, it made my scalp worse. A steroid application sorted it out.
It is very good for an itchy scalp. Also a flaky scalp often effects the skin on the face and neck and once it clears up the scalp there is usually an improvement with the skin.
And Betamethasone gel helps too
You are an artist. Never thought watching haircuts and beard trims would be relaxing.
I agree great shampoo. Its like a more natural version of Head and Shoulders. I use it as my "winter" shampoo when the air is dryer.
Very nice job. He must feel so good after that. I don't know if you mentioned it, but he has more than dry scalp. He has a bit of mild psoriasis. There are products he can use that will help him manage it and keep it from getting worse.
You're an artist! I know he has to feel good on the inside and outside after this. Great work!!!
Poor dude needs some medical skin treatment...those bumps on back of neck can't feel great
Awesome transformation. He should keep his hair short with his scalp condition. A good dermatologist should be able to figure out what's going on and prescribe something to treat it.
Good job.looks so much better
There was a handsome man under all that hair
Agreed, his scarf looked red and irritated as heck. He will be much happier once it’s treated.
It's usually diet
I have Psoriasis and that’s how my scalp looks when it flares. I take a Biologic drug to keep it under control.
I’m saying 😐
You have no idea what you're talking about
@@tiffany171720052005 Does my comment indicate I'm an expert?

Love that you washed his hair! I subscribed ❤
I use a medicated antifungal shampoo and conditioner for this issue and im a girl with long microlocs. His scalp is so inflamed😭. Cut is nice but whew!
OMG!! I LOVE the new look! As a woman I think the dreads were hiding a very handsome face. The barber is next level good.. well done!
Now who would have thought that this would be interesting for me. Just was curious to see what you were about. Totally transfixed with your work. That guy left your shop looking like a million bucks. You have a new subscriber.😊
What an amazing transformation! You could see his confidence level go way up! Great job!
Hair care is so pivotal. Happy to see that you highlighted that. Great job!
Clipper artistry! The haircut, plus the music, put me in a super relaxed place. Thank you!
blend is smooth like butter🧈, fire cut.🔥🔥
You hooked him UP !!!! That was Amazing. My ex husband suffers from a similar scalp condition.Blessings to you and your God Gifted hands
There was something very ASMR about watching this video. Also the guy looked fantastic at the end. Great job!
Massage with coconut oil and aloes keeps the scalp moist and hydrated. Also takes care of the inflammation
In Jamaica, we'd call him a brand new second hand. Very Nice. Looked refined and refreshed.
Your clients are so lucky to have you. You make me want to be a barber.
Look how red his scalp got after the treatment! His scalp SO needed that!
He has such a beautiful and full texture. Love this from start to finish
Nice job!! I’m a barber! I learned from my dad he was a master barber and most people don’t know how to do clippers over comb. I don’t use guards at all. My dad made me learn the old fashioned way. Haha I’m glad though. We do lots military haircuts.
As someone with psorasis flaring right now all over my scalp, i appreciate how great you were with him. Ive had so many bad haircut experiences
Really fun to watch the process, nicely done, it looks great! Hope he enjoys it as much as we do!
I think if you just went a finger width higher on the fade it would've help made his head not look as big
That's just amazing! You did a great job! He looks great.
Amazing. It’s scalp psoriasis. I have it too as well as seborrheic dermatitis
Dermatologist. There are various issues going on w his scalp. What's the tool cleaning process? Blue stuff? Hell of a transformation! You have him looking like a new person! Very nice look ❤
Yes I ended up with a bad case of excema on my scalp and I cut my hair all off kinda of like this guy but not styled like this as he is a man and I am a woman. Could put the cream on as directed by a dermatologist and got it healed up and hair grew back and it was good to go.
Is the red part of his scalp a fungal infection?
@@tmiller9197 I think myself it could be eczema . I saw his forehead and he had marks like he might have some eczema He should have seen a doctor maybe a dermatologist before taking all his hair off. But I know I took all my hair off because I had a bad case of eczema one time to just get the cream on properly . The dermatologist didn’t tell me to cut it but I did,
Eczema can get infected but hard to say when we don’t get to see his scalp directly.
You are such an awesome guy! Your technical skills, informative content, and voice are absolutely fantastic. This is my first time viewing your channel, but it won't be my last. Kudos for the total package. Many blessings, and thanks for sharing your incredible talent. To the client, your transformation is great. Hopefully, you can get some relief from your condition . What a transformation. Skills are on point.
You did a wonderful job on his hair transformation. I know he felt much better when you were done. Job well done.
This cut is 🔥🔥🔥 Ken you always coming through with the banger videos
Great job such a nice hair cut. He look like a new person. Your hands are gifted. May God bless you. God bless you
Wow, he looks so much better, good job.
Wow great job, those braids were hiding that handsome man, total transformation 😊.
Such a clean cut. Congratulations
5:11 I’m a white dude who used to be a barber and I had a customer who was black and my co worker who was black told me never use a comb always use a brush… you don’t brush down you brush up it groups the hair standing making the fade cleaner. A comb separates the hairs resulting in that wavy fade. That’s what I was told and shown, I did it and it came out clean AF.
Oh wow! I was just saying that I would love to bring my grandsons to you, then I noticed "Philadelphia!!!". If you are in or near Philly, I would love to bring my boys to you. I like your style. You are a real professional! I've had too many bad experiences with getting my grandsons' hair cuts. I will definitely look you up. Thank you for being a professional and also caring barber. 🥰 PS: I did subscribe AND like. 😊
I’ll say it again: you are so talented. There is something about your application of that talent, too, though….you aren’t rushed or gruff with your clients. I don’t think it’s a projection to say that I see some kindness in the way you treat your clients. Between that and the way you speak, these videos have such a calming vibe.
Perfect cut for his head shape looks like a new man also looks younger go straight to moms and show off your new look Happy New Year everyone ❤😊
Great job. Hopefully he keeps it. He looks good

I am a whiter than bird shit gal with scalp psoriasis and have seriously considered shaving my head for years to get relief.
Wow man you did a super good job, a hell of a transformation!!!
Wow that looks awesome. He looked so good and you can bet he felt so much more refreshed. I have a dry scalp and man, does it drive me crazy at times.
His scalp looks so red! Is that from the cut or his original condition?
🙏🏾 may he never put dreads on his head again.
I concor
Why?!!!
@timekabolden5309, the dreds were doing his scalp no justice due to his condition. That's the worst hairdo to have in this situation
How often did he wash his hair?
@@sweettweet3296not often enough. It's not just washing, it's medicating
Looks so much better!
You did an awesome job on his transformation and he looks very nice.
Ouch, it's only after you did the shampoo we can see how red his scalp is. This cut must have been such a relief.
It works for me ❤
DAYUMNNN! 🔥🔥🔥👌🏼 I’m not gon lie this might be some of your best work!
Great work! Look at what was underneath all those braids! I love how precise this barber is. I didn’t realize how many clippers are used for a fade. Again, great job!
