Thank you VERY much for this video. That is the perfect technique for getting the old bushing shell out. The included Prothane instructions say the same thing, but it's not til you see it done that you get just how well it works. BTW, I couldn't find my hacksaw so I used my Milwaukee Hackzall with a Dewalt jig saw metal lade in it. Worked like a charm.

Did mine years ago and still great today, also did the whole master bushing kit for my 95 SL2.

Thanks for mentioning the master bushing kit. I just got an SL2 and everything needs to be replaced. I was thinking that it was going to be a pain to order all of the various bushings (if they even made them). NOPE! Just ordered the Prothane kit. THIS IS GOING TO BE AWESOME! :D

@@button-puncher Thanks, yeah, the top hats can be the stock top hat as far as the coilovers, and the bottom knuckle needs to be modified opposite of the camber hole. I haven't done it yet because I have H&R sport springs, KYB GR2's with a polyurethane master bushing kit on mine, which is still healthy. Unfortunately they don't make the H&R's anymore so the Subaru mod would likely be down the road, if I still have the car, etc. That master bushing kit though is another thing to add if u got an old Satty, the polyuerthane is great too. You can actually feel the frame stiffening when u hang S turns.

They make the car faster too, especially with some BC racing WRX coilovers. 2002-07 years can be modded to fit the SL2. Like a 5k 250 spring rate in front and 4k 200 spring rate in the back.

Thanks for this. When u say it cured hard shifting, was it a super harsh shift from 1st to 2nd, and 2nd to 3rd? I have an auto and it is banging into gear.

This was a Manual/Stick shift. It helped smooth out shifting between gears. kept the engine more stable. My assumption was the synchros were getting jostled around between shifts so it was having trouble going into gear. For the automatics, hard shifting is usually something with the fluid or the valve body needs to be replaced. This Mod should help after the repair.

That sounds like the valve body and reverse slam issue. It's well known problem you can fix.

How do they feel? Are you happy with them? Do the cause any strain on anything?

Still running great! No issues at all. It actually cured a hard shifting issue I was having. No strain that I can tell.

Does this have to be the oem wishbone?

I never tried aftermarket, but I believe they were meant for OEM retrofit. You can always hit up a local salvage yard to find the OE parts to do this to.

Too late I welded mine to the frame. No regrets.
