I'm African it's amazing to see these guys living the African way of life in south America. it's so amazing, I just discovered this country I haven't been there yet but I love everything about it so far. I love you guys from the bottom of my heart. 💚💛💜💓❤💙💕💖💗💘💝💞💟👍👌👆👊👏
You can still see, their Ghanaian features, and beautiful glow skin of typical Ghanaian People. In my time in Holland, where I spend 15 years, I met a lot Surinamese People. Some hold on to African traditions, some are very Dutch
That is because in Suriname itself they're are two types of Afro-Surinamese. The Maroon and the Creole. The Creole their ancestors came out of slavery when it ended in 1863 and had a different culture then. It was a mix of African, Dutch and Jewish. The latter group their ancestors were people who escaped slavery early in the 17th and 18th century to live in the forest; that's how they maintained their African Ghanaian/Congo roots (depending on which tribe they belong to. This video has the Saramaccan tribe they have Ghanaian and Congo roots, another major tribe the Aukans have more Ghanaian roots and traditions than Congolese traditions). Both groups have later emigrated to the Netherlands. In Suriname they aren't seen as the same people. However there is some movement under they young generation (mainly Creoles) to see them as one people. The Maroon however don't really, always feel the same way. Also some differences are, the Creole have different food, traditional clothing (Koto), and lifestyle. They do not know the tribal system. Some of them do practice forms of the African religion but with a mixture of Christianity. The Maroon on the other hand practice mostly only the African religion. Also they have different traditional clothing (men wear Kamisa, women wear Pangi) and food and language. They have a tribal system. Depending on which tribe they also have a different language. Personally the Saramaccan language is very difficult for me to understand. The Aucan language on the other hand is a bit easier.

David Asare lol nope they are samaacan people, one if the many sub cultures of creole in Suriname. They hold dear the roots they stemmed off but that doesn’t make them Ghanaians.
That doesn’t make sense. If a person from China lives in the Americas for 300 years it does not make them not Chinese. Sure Saramaccan people may not be Ghanian culturally because of slavery, but they are still African people from Ghana. This is obviously what the person was saying.

The black diaspora is truly amazing, love from your brothers/sisters in the US!!

This dancing is like the EWE and ADOWA and our NORTHERN BROTHERS AND SISTERS OF NORTHERN GHANA dance of Ghana 🇬🇭.
I can see some traces of Amazonian native American dance and rhythm elements too. Although it seems predominantly African.
The dance is like the adowa dance of Ghana.
Could be, as most our anchesters came from Ghana !

That's a name American Blacks use as well
+Sukma Eighhole yes I know quite a few with that name.
yeahh kisi is Akan and mostly used by men buh in few cases women. the female version of kisi in Akan is kissiwaa
Yes, KISI is a Ghanaian name. The current Special Prosecutor of Ghana, a law graduate of Connell University is called KISI AGYABENG.
