Kevin Ward won Manly a premiership on 32 degrees day in September 87. What a hard lad he was. Look him up youngsters.

Good chat that. Can see Jackson’s appreciation for the time he spent in Super League. The players aren’t held on a pedestal or on the front and back pages like NRL players so can do them a world of good being out of the spotlight. Get to mix with working class Northern lads, Would be a good experience. Great to see Gaz Ellis mentioned as well. Hard as nails. One player who my old man always mentioned though he wasn’t in the NRL Era was Malcolm Reilly 👍🏼

Too many young people on here not knowing back prior 2000.
I remember back then a pommy who played for Penrith. Bill Ashurst.
A forward who could do it all. Never hear today a forward who could chip and chase.
Unfortunately he did a SBW and took off back to England unexpectedly

Exceptional skill level, passing or kicking the ball. Billy Boston said he was a 6ft 3 second rower with the skill level to be the best stand off in the world.
Got the most votes in the Penrith best team ever, despite absconding back to England.
