I've been making my mother's recipe for this even though it was never quite how I would like it. My mother's is rather on the dry side and if I ever dared to mention it, well, it wasn't pretty. Mine isn't just dry, it also doesn't rise very well. To make it palatable somewhat I add two pouches of vanilla sugar. Taste is divine, but dry. So, I'm happy to find your recipe to try next time. Thank you.
Sometimes my cakes (this one or others) is not so pretty either... Maybe it depends on the flour, or how much baking powder you add, even the size of the baking pan, or... I don't know. I think making pretty cakes is the hardest part of cooking. When my cakes turns out ugly my husband always says: I like the smell, the taste - never mind, we'll eat it with a spoon :) I hope using this recipe will be a success for you!
You can try an online converter, like this: www.convert-me.com/en/convert/weight/gram.html?u=gram&v=150 /I suppose there will be some strange numbers... :)

Tried to look up dekagram and deciliter but couldn’t find it anywhere. Could you please break it down for me?
8.818 oz flour, 8.818 oz sugar, 14 oz sour cherries, 4 eggs, 0.2 pint oil, 0.2 pint water, pinch of salt, 1 teaspoon baking powder
Max Montreal 1 decagram (dag) = 10 grams . So 25 decagram is 250 grams . o Or in cups measurement 10 decagram is about 1 cup ...
What are the English measurements for this cake?
