Greetings: fwiw: my favorite pie in the entire world 🌎 is cherry 🍒 pie ( and/or Dutch Cherry because of the cinnamon and sugar topping) and the fabulous way that you have prepared it is awesome 😎!!!!
I remember in Germany after Cherry 🍒 picking. It was my cousin and my job to pit them. "We had a lot of cherries." During pitting we would go one for the bowl and pop two in our mouths. Always ending up with a belly ache before finishing & many more cherries to go.
Martha let me give you a tip I found in my old southern living cookbook add 2/3 cup or a little more of grenadine to the mix this recipe calls for cooking the filling in saucepan on stove top before adding to crust other than that the recipe is basically the same try it you’ll like it
I love grenadine syrup, but doesn’t it make the filling super sweet? I’ve actually never made a pie before, and I’m 75!! But the crust, and the way she works it and puts it in the pie p,ate, looks pretty simple,and I love cherry pie, so I may try this one! Her recipe calls for fresh sour cherries, which aren’t always easy to find. Can I use frozen? Thank you! Isn’t Martha terrific! Been a big fan of hers for years.
