A suggestion. Take off the circlip inside a large clear plastic bag so that if it fly's off its in the bag and not somewhere else never to be found again. It's a good way to dismantle anything with springs.

A suggestion, to beginners, file a flat/grid a flat spot for the can grub screw,
rc plane builder for over 45 years🤓

You can use the end of your calipers to make a step measurement of your shaft instead of your internal jaws. Flip your calipers over and open them and you will see what I'm talking about. Didn't know if you knew about this feature on calipers.

You need to remove the bearings and measure them to be able to determine the size you need 😀

Sorry, I can not remember the size, this was done a few years ago. However, always better to remove and measure the old bearings, as th size will often vary
