    I live for the day when I finally get to visit the most holy Golden Temple!! Never will I forget one of the first times I went to Gurdwara. I was absolutely overwhelmed with such warmth and hospitality. It is without a shadow of a doubt that I felt the presence of God working through my now new found Sikh friends. Lots of love from way over here in the States!

      Rami there are places like this in Makkah that give out free food and soup to people. We just don't publicise it; our charity (sadaqah) is between us and our Creator.

    • @landerjatt

      kaashee i do not think non muslims r allowed in or near makkah.........

    • @sayedkarzai6565

      kaashee - You should appreciate the goodness in the world. In Makkah, there are only very few places for free food and that's all but Langar (Free Food) is a requirement for all the Sikh Gurdwaras. It is designed to uphold the principle of equality between all people of the world regardless of religion, caste, colour, creed, age, gender or social status. In addition to the ideals of equality, the tradition of Langar expresses the ethics of sharing, community, inclusiveness and oneness of all humankind. Langar, is said to be a Persian word that translates as 'an almshouse', 'an asylum for the poor and the destitute. Langar also teaches the etiquette of sitting and eating in a community situation, which has played a great part in upholding the virtue of sameness of all human beings; providing a welcome, secure and protected sanctuary.
      The Langar is run by sevadars (volunteers doing selfless service). It is a community kitchen and ANYBODY can help in its running. This function of Sewa results in a community feeling in peoples' minds as they drop their mask of ego. The feeling of "I" or "me" is forgotten as they perform this valuable service to humanity.
      I went with my Sikh friend to Golden Temple and had Langar and also participated in the service. It felt so good. This place was so beautiful and blessed.

    • @snebis
      @snebis 9 лет назад +4

      kaashee You have a very narrow vision about people, be kind and appreciate goodness in others, you may not know but fate might sometime bring you to a langar and you will have to share the same food with others like they are doing in Syria and everywhere else.

    I just found out that the Golden Temple serves free food to 10 thousand people everyday on regular days, not including Holidays, regardless of their religion, no need to believe in Sikhism to enjoy a meal. WOW.... Unbelievable amounts of food served everyday. I can only Image how busy they would be on any Sikh Holiday. I hope to volunteer there someday, doing something from the heart is always a good experience.

    Other people can learn from the Sikhs.... there is no harm if they have the same system applied in their holy places..... where the local communities donate food, and people from the community get in to help cook and serve it to all people of all religions not only their own.... in this method and ways... no one should go hungry. It is a wonderful system which Guru Nanak Dev Ji introduced 500 years ago... and is still in place in all Gurdwara's all around the World.

    Being to golden temple in summer of 2014.☺ its a super peaceful and clean place. i enjoyed eating langar . Felt really sad for operation blue star. How can anyone order shooting bombing inside such peaceful temple. Irrespective of whether terrorist were hiding or not inside temple government of india shouldn't have conducted operation blue star . Wahe guruji da khalsa waheguru di fateh. 🙏

      +1980rajput we never forget Chamkaur, Sirhind , Chandni Chowk or any other asthaan of shaheedi we will not forget the blood split of our brothers sisters and children on this dharti either . They the perpetrators bring it up constantly and label us terrorist still what about that? false imprisonments still go on and torturing why not pay attention to that and bring a stop to that

      How can u say,u r not indian?

    • @happygharu6110
      @happygharu6110 5 лет назад

      @carlos carlos india is a country which has 29 states and 7 union territories.punjab is a state of those 29 states.each state has its own contribution for making the complete india.
      Agar aap soch rhe hai k indian govt ne punjab ko thoda tu yeh bilkul sahi kiya,
      Abhi tu hmaari saari population hi 25-26 million hai.abhi yeh govt se smbhal nahi rha poora.log migrate kr rhe hai.abhi agar yeh poora Punjab tu hota tu socho,kaun chlaata es state ko.by the punjab sirf punjab ko hi nahi toda gya.aur bhi bahut si states ko chhota kiya gya hai.
      Agar aap soch rhe hai k india ne punjab ko kuch nahi diya,tu yeh aap ka veham hai.saari cheezon ki acche se knowledge lo.india,punjab k bina adhura hai aur punjab,india k bin.yeh baat meri note krlo

    • @happygharu6110
      @happygharu6110 5 лет назад

      @carlos carlos bhai but mere ko tu yr punjab mein acche log hi mile hai.aur out of states bhi log,sikho ki respect krte hai,jitna maine observe kiya.rajashtan,up,west bengal wale log tu sikho ko top class log maante hai.
      agar aap aisi 1-2 examples de ge,jo sikho k against hai tu yeh sahi nahi hoga.bcz kuch bure log tu hr jagah hote hai.but overall log acche hai,politics ki maa ki aankh.
      Mere ko aaj tak kisi hindu ne aisa kuch nahi poochha k tera religion kaun sa hai,caste kaun si,yaa tu mandir mein kyun aaya hai yaa sikh,hindu hai k nahi,btaa.
      Haan aisa zaroor keh dete hai k hm sbb ek hi hai.

    • @happygharu6110
      @happygharu6110 5 лет назад

      @carlos carlos ind govt is ok-2.but I really rate punjab govt.there is need for development in punjab.punjab govt gotta solve issues like drugs, migration of youth, education system, industry,govt jobs,water,fertilizer demands for crops etc.
      Im gonna vote AAP this time in vidhan sabha elections in punjab.

    • @happygharu6110
      @happygharu6110 5 лет назад

      @carlos carlos baaki bhai,90% tu punjab mein punjabi hi bolte hai.theek hai kuch hindu girls,punjabi nahi bolti.chlo kisi ko ab mazboor tu nahi krna hai es k liye.
      But overall,sabhi ko apne punjabi hone pe naaz hai

      HAIRNET - Heads are already covered
      SHOES --- Shoes are not allowed inside Langar Hall. Do you keep your shoes on while cooking food at home in your kitchen?

    i am a hindu and i have a shame on hinduism because we spend so much money and food on Murtis ....
    i remember a temple in orissa where tonnes of desi ghee laddus were spread in front of ganesh murti and
    outside that temple small kids of beggar whom bones were visible .they were too much starved.... ....
    after 2 days those laddus get sour and were put to ganga ................. i mean it is totally shit.... if we can't make reforms
    in our relegion then our hindu relegion can't survive
    instead of that we must learn from sikhs how to utilise charhawa money for the humanity...............
    i belong to brahmin ..no. 1 supreme caste of hindus but still i believe SIKHISM is the best relegion of this world

      +Rahul Mehta - Brother, don't be ashamed. Just try to make a difference on a personal level. You should feed the poor that you see outside the Hindu temples. Sikhism is the reformed version of Hinduism. Sikhism prohibited idol worship, blind rituals and eliminated caste system. No one should think that they are higher than the others or others are beneath them. We are all equal and that is what Sikhism teach us and that is why Langar is served so then everyone can eat together no matter what religion, caste, status they belong to....

    This is so beautiful. People from every possible racial, religious, national and social background, the disabled and the able-bodied, gay and straight--all eating together on the same plane. And they don't ask for a dime in return?
    How petty does one have to be to criticize this operation Rohit84? Is your heart filled with so much hate that you must come on here and denounce Sikhs for offering this service? May the Divine bless you with greater Consciousness and an open mind my brother.
