I visited Paris with my parents in April this year. The city is amazing and I was amazed by the architecture, art and the history that it holds. But everything was ruined during our last metro ride, where we became victims to a pick pocket attempt. Luckily we lost nothing, but I don’t feel like visiting the city again.

Yes …thank you for your interest and question … I have friends, family , i used to work in the very central Paris , on a boat ( Péniche ) very close to the Eiffel Tower as a Butler for a wealthy french young couple and it was magic every time at work and outside in Paris ! Now i am in Tokyo …
I lived in Paris, London and Berlin. I visited many cities from Antananarivo to Reykjavik, from Montreal to Djibouti. Of all cities Paris remains the most gorgeous. Plus it’s is a key city if not the world capital for Fashion, Culture, Cuisine, Geopolitics and Science. No other cities have all that in any of the five continents.
I think the French, Spanish, Green and Italian Departements of Tourism need to work with influencers in their countries. There is more to France than Paris in July. There is more to Italy than Rome or Capri in August. Teach tourists about fall and Christmas season with all the beautiful decor. Or even, encourage people to go right when school lets out mid June.
Happy Paris Olympics Month Day!! occasion!!! celebration!!!!! 👍👍👍 (previous starting date: July 26, 2024) greetings for French Basketball player, Tony Parker. 🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷🎉🎉🎉👏👏👏💯💯💯
I think Paris does live up to it's reputation these days but maybe that's because I remember what it looked like in the 1980s when it was far dirtier and less pedestrian friendly than it is today. By the way I don't believe you need a ticket to walk under the Eiffel Tower, just to go up it though you do need to pass through a security screening. It's not nearly as picturesque underneath since they put up the security walls however. As for Montmartre I was last there mid-afternoon on a Sunday at the end of August and the wait to get in was maybe 5 minutes, I also enjoyed drinks with some local friends outside the cafe at 3:45 and it was relaxing and despite the tourists we were able to take our time and talk.
In my opinion, no. Paris is even quite overrated if you ask me. They have a few nice spots, but those don't outweigh all the negatives. I much more enjoyed my visits to Lille and Lyon. As a whole much prettier, much cleaner and better maintained, and less motorized traffic (in the city center).
I’ve had to go to Paris twice and could not wait to leave. I loathe that city more than any place in the world. I just do not understand what people see in it.
Illegal immigration (souvenirs sellers + illegal homes + criminals + grooming gangs + street harassment) has really negatively affected the overall charm of Paris, Berlin and London😅
Paris is an amazing place to visit because of all the things this video has mentioned, but for me overtourism is not good, I would prefer to visit other parts of France, for example Marseille or it would be lovely to visit a small town where you can see the real France.
I'm not sure that Marseille is a good choice, especially if you want a small town lol. The best would be to go to Cassis to enjoy the sea and the coves.
I recently visited paris with my family I reach their by bus from Bonn my first experience was bad but as we entered city I find why people says paris city of dreams every place so beautiful and full of art and architecture l really fall in❤ with paris
If you freak out the way the good doctor described, then you already had psychological problems and it has nothing to do with the city itself. To call it the "Paris syndrome" is absurd; the same thing is said about so many other cities.
Paris is no more romantic than anywhere else. It is not the buildings nor the sights that make a place romantic, but who you are sharing it with. Paris is lovely, but like any city, you need rose-tinted glasses in order not to pay attention to the negative side. Despite what many say, most Parisiens are nice people. It is a fantastic place to visit, but it is no more romantic than sitting in my garden with one that I live.
Paris syndrome is for people of faint heart . The city is beautiful with no end of sights, places and Food options . Can't blame anybody for the lines or the crowds ; they are part of any successful tourist city . Strap up and be prepared for a rollicking ride .

the ‘symbol of love,’ the ‘epitome of romance,’ the place where people get all mushy and teary-eyed because, well, metal, right? Yeah, i said it -metal. I mean, come on, folks! It’s a gigantic hunk of iron slapped together with a bunch of rivets, sticking up out of the ground like some overly enthusiastic kid’s Meccano project gone mad. But nooo, because it’s in Paris, suddenly it’s romantic. Really? You’re telling me if this thing was plonked down in the middle of, I don’t know, Milton Keynes, people would still be swooning over it? I don’t think so! And don’t get me started on the tourists. They’re all standing there, gazing up at it with hearts in their eyes, taking selfies as if they’ve just discovered the very essence of love itself. Let’s face it, the only thing the Eiffel Tower really symbolizes is how easily we can be convinced that a bunch of metal can represent human emotions if you throw in enough clichés and a good marketing campaign. Look, I’m not saying the Eiffel Tower isn’t impressive-sure, it’s a feat of engineering, hats off to Gustave Eiffel and all that. But romantic? Give me a break! It’s a cold, hard, unforgiving structure. You want romance? How about a quiet walk along the Seine, or sharing a bottle of wine in a quaint little Parisian café? But no, instead we’ve got people queuing up to climb a steel skeleton, believing it’s the ultimate romantic gesture. So next time you’re in Paris and someone says, ‘Oh, let’s go see the Eiffel Tower, it’s so romantic!’ just remember-you’re not gazing at love, you’re gazing at a massive, pointy, metal triangle. And if that’s your idea of romance, well... good luck with that!"
