Everything you said is dead on point man! Dead on! Trucking is not for me, I enjoy time with my wife and babies. Money is good but you have to find whatever makes you happy. Happy for you💯💯
JBG Travels here… I’m working on my 34th year and I’m almost done.. with till the new elogg system coming next months.. no more creeping at 5 miles an hour to prevent tripping the log. They are adopting the European system.
I’m 32 have a fbo 10th gen civic si And I’m a school bus driver and love it , decent pay , pensions good , benefits, free time between my day so I work another part time job as a water utility operator if not I have time off between my day and summers off lol
Well wishes. Been subbed for something like 2-3 years now. the growth has shown and I hope the change in direction brings you exactly what you're looking for.
Im at swift, no driver facing cameras. They stopped using them right when i started 7 years ago. So if you want to get back maybe try swift. They got dry, reefer, flatbed, no tanker division. They got all kinds of accounts, i bounce between regular otr, costco, i35 fleet, they might even have a local job where you are home every day or every other day.
I was considering them man! Was going to go back to roehl, but I’m keeping my options open. How fast are the trucks? I’d be interested in dry van, dedicated or regional. Where are you from ?
@TheGerbsteve im living in greater detroit area. I just do dryvan myself, i have done 1 or 2 reefer loads for them, and a couple container loads. Just come out of the 2020 cascadia i got new in 2020, and now im in a 25 cascadia.
I definitely feel the same way but for me it helps that i team with my wife and we are home every weekend no matter what. I try to take off acouple days every 3 months to just get our mind off being on the truck and relax but my manager always trys to say we cant take time off so i just call out every 3 months for 3days
If you’re not happy with how trucking went for you, then you’ll never be happy again when you do decide to come back trucking. Is not for everyone, especially if you’re an extroverted person (which sounds like you are based on what you said) . Trucking is a lifestyle. This job doesn’t affect people who are introverted for the most part, such as myself, reason why I love trucking tbh.
I work for Amazon delivery and the pay sucks and it’s physically exhausting and not worth it but I have bills. Thinking of getting my CDL what are the first steps in getting into a big rig. thanks
I'd love to drive around all day delivering trinkets. Man up! What's your heaviest package/delivery weight? Less than 30lbs. 😂😂😂 Based on your channel name alone, you're a pu**y! Go home
How much are you making if you don’t mind me asking? A CDL will be better vs. that gig for sure. If I were you, use Amazon to your full advantage. Tell them you’d like to get into theirCDL program. They will pay for your CDL and training. First steps though, 1. Quit weed, 2. Study for permit, 3. Research, research, research starter companies.
@@TheGerbsteve 20 hr 9 hour days with 180 stops with 300 packages that’s not including apartments that drain you. I did quit smoking completely clean. I think Amazon contracts tractors.
Don't feel bad! We all trade our time for money. I definitely understand when you have to give your whole 24 hours for days and you can't enjoy your time you worked hard for. Keep up the grind and the videos! Hopefully we all can one day enjoy the fruits of our labor!
Hi Gerb, I’m currently shopping for a 2007-2011 Honda 4-dr Civic with stick shift for my 1st souped up project car go sub 13sec 1/4 mile. Which trim would you recommend between EX, EX-L, and SI? I want to keep the budget below $13k. Thanks in advance!
A piece of meat in a seat. That hits. I’m 5 years into this and even though I’m home daily, my days are 12-18 hours long. Yes. I work over my HOS a lot of the time. And then I’m expected to come back within 10 hours. I’m making money, but I have no life. No gf. No friends I can call and see. I just see my family on my 34 hour reset but that’s it. I’m hoping to have some money saved up within a few months and can take a break of find something else. Trucking isn’t a life long career anymore. It’s a bridge. It’s a job that helps you make good money quick with little to no investment. It’s best to get out of debt and save up and figure out what to do next in life. But it’s a career that doesn’t give you a life unless the truck and the road is your life.
They always sell it to you, you are going to make big money 1,400 & 2000 weekly easy just driving and all that. What they don't tell you is that you are going to loose friends & family You even loose yourself and that time doesn't come back. You don't do exercise after 14hrs of work eating junk food 24/7 avg30 days away from home 4 days off is not worth it.
No exercise and eating junk is a big one. Folks that’s outside of trucking would say some slick stuff about my weight, but I would be like “that’s what 6 years of OTR trucking will do to you. I been out of it for nearly a year now and the weight steady came off. The only thing I wish I would have done was to get out of the industry back in 2022 when I had the perfect chance. I overstayed my welcome
Truck drivers body in constant vibration that’s what stresses the body not the junk food alone. The body needs good rest at home not in the truck. Drivers need to listen their body and mind and stop chasing miles now and then
Obviously others can relate to this content hints the reason this why he has so many views sometimes this is a truckers only outlet so piss off why come to someones video just to be negative smh
Paying off your girlfriend? Sounds like Alimony 😅 Working out don't matter if you keep eating SAD (Standard American Diet) Research the proper human diet = Carnivore 😊 Hard to get a Mortgage without a J.O.B. bro Lose the CARBS!
Only losers, misfits and weirdos drive trucks. There’s no life in it. It destroys you. Do anything else before you decide to get involved in the trucking industry. You’ll thank me later
What about people who buying stuff brought by those people you mentioned? Don’t you feel some type of way knowing some “weirdo” touched the food, medicine or clothes you consume?
Completely ignorant comment. How about gratitude for the people that do truck driving and keep the supply chain working for eveyone so you can have a more convenient quality of life.
Mental health is always first. Money will come
Not if you can't maintain mental capacity to apply yourself to any job.
Claiming mental health is a 'stigma' that too many now claim...
Cop-out
Money come and goes....but family, friends and time...is precious and irreplacable....
_Saw the huge smile on the thumbnail and knew you were in a better space, love it bro_ 😎
