It’s also supposed to have shields that stop ballistics, which is why it has less hull up. I see it as a medium fighter, because it essentially has the same load out as a Sabre, and a size 2 shield. Idk why cig thinks it’s a light fighter
CIG vehicle team designers do not tune this ship as a light fighter, its numbers are clearly medium fighter. Maybe it could have a bit better accel. The shield should make a difference in durability, I m looking forward to that. Hi there btw ;)
Never looked that close to my Defender as you did and the texture really looks great. Got mine when it came out and stayed since then in my hangar. The only thing I don't like at the moment are the Singe Cannons, hope they change how they work at the moment.

I've had one as a loaner forever. Never really use it other than flying to the space station if I forget to call a ship at a location. Maybe I'll have to give it another chance.

For the singe cannons, as someone who flies an Ion, I would recommend switching to "lag pips" for combat. The leading pips are a bit hit or miss (no pun intended) with their accuracy, and I've found switching to lag pips really brings up the accuracy of the shots. Good video!
PRO TIP: Never shoot your missiles until you actually hear the "Missile Lock" audio notification, dont trust the Missile UI. If the audio doesnt pops, just get a bit closer to the target.
I am wishing for this thing to be brought up to standards - I imagine perhaps with the BMM taken into consideration, they may do a full rework of this alongside it and make it fit more comfortably inside the bigger ship.
I just got a Glaive and hope CIG decide BMM owners get one of these as standard. If not I may just have to get one this IAE. I got the Railen, BMM and Glaive this alien week so I've spent enough 👀😂

The Defender is absolute dog shit in MM, with only 1,400 dps, a meek 13,000 hp, and a cross section bigger than any other fighter, its target practice for even the shittiest pilot in the verse. In fact the same goes for all snub fighters, all light fighters, most medium fighters, and all heavy fighters. MM has screwed most ships. Banu is useless now.

Fun fact: the Banu who designed the Defender was inspired by a species of crabs he encountered on Uranus while on shore leave.

Defender has always been one of my favourites. Just the fact that it has a bed makes it a fantastic mobile home. Plus the engine sounds are sex
