      🤞 It’s back outside in the shade, looking happy…for now!

    Trick for glitter polish. To get it off put a cotton ball with remover on the nail and cover with foil. Let it set 5 to 10 mins and the glitter should come off easy

    Hi! Are you familiar with grammatophyllum issues? My Gramma gives off a sticky substance when I bought it (which I read is normal )
    But now about 2 years later there's tiny holes in the leaves, but no insects
    I'm not sure what's wrong and haven't found many resources

      Without actually seeing the plant, my theory is that the sticky substance is critter residue. Spider mites, aphids, snails in the pot? Generally, an orchid only produces ‘happy sap’ itself on new growth or developing blooms.

    How is it evolving? I've got my first Grammatophyllum coming next week and will have to repot it immediately so I'm interested in how it reacted to the mix you used in the repot.

      It has been doing great! Lots of new roots and a new growth on the way. I do think I may have to repot it again next year. I probably could have put it in a larger pot than the one I used in this video.

      @@TheOrchidHut Thanks. I asked for it since I found most growers use pure charcoal, lava and/or coco-husk

    • @TheOrchidHut
      @TheOrchidHut  Год назад +1

      Coco-husk is more water retentive than bark (and this orchid is thirsty), however it degrades really quickly in my hot/humid environment. Best of luck with yours!

    Do you find that the roots are growing through the small slits? I was thinking of doing a large clay pot, any thoughts?

      Yes, a few roots out the slits and my regret (as explained in the video above) is that I didn’t go with a larger pot from the get go.

    would you be interested in joining in a xarecollab on Grammathophylum care, later this September? So far we would be 3 RUclipsrs joining in then and hopefully I will find a few more.

      Sure…is this the same one Nina does? I’ve never belonged to that because the orchids I have in my collection are always changing. But I’d be happy to do one here and there.
