- Gene Fulton is a five-time world champion and accomplished engine builder. The popular drag racing icon from Spartanburg, SC, hasn't dumped the clutch in a race car since 1986.
Fulton, the only sportsman racer to be enshrined in the Legends of Thunder Valley, became infatuated with the South East Gassers, a group of the volatile gassers running period correct cars from 1967. Over a BBQ lunch, Fulton threw his hat in the ring and began the process of building a Gasser to run on the series formed by one of his long time friends Quain Stott.
This series is a hybrid between documentary and a reality show, and promises to entertain.

Thank you Gene you dont just build motors you build dreams ! you built me a 498 20-25 years ago and it was the fastest most consistent car i ever had. your attention to detail and meticulous work is better than anybody out there! That 23t went 4:70s I had to slow it down cause it was too much for the car. I ended up running 4:90s 5:0s in the 8th and that was plenty for that car . Thank you

I talked to Gene on the phone bout building me one of them nitrous 865's he's know for, the one Fredy Scriba had when he was winning everything. Bout to run into some money 💰 and Gene Fulton has first dibs on it, just so I can have one of them Gene Fulton Race Engines stickers up on the hood of my pro-street 58 Apache chevy short bed pickup.

Austin V I had a 498 he built for my altered it made over 1000 hp and took my 23t bucket down the track in the high 4s in the 8th at about 160mph i would highly recommend this man to anybody wanting a motor thats built to go fast and last a long time !

Hi, CompTV... I've spent I bet 40 hours this week watching all the gasser videos I could find, this one included. I JUST FOUND YOUR CAR, I think. It was at 8 minutes into a video from 2015, called gassers in Atmore (Alabama?) Is this the car and is it still running? WillyB at HAMB

Man, that's too bad. I remember when Shirley Muldowney was running a little injected SBC on gas at Fonda, NY in the early '60s. She's in her 70s now, like me.
